Thats exactly what i love so much about this anime. Yes its an absurd concept but it establishes healthy standards and approaches towards relationships with different kinds of individuals, its wonderful. Rentaro is and always will be the ultimate social inspiration
"what will their parents say about this?" Is such a good question for the series, because I'm glad to report the parents do show up (for some girls) and have different takes on the relationship. I'm not trying to spoil, I'm just saying the series does touch on this, even if is limited.
And honestly I can't fault the series too much for not addressing every single parent's views on it. I'm sure most of the girls wouldn't be too open about the true nature of the relationship anyway, and well, considering how many girls we have, it would be a lot of chapters dedicated to the reactions of the parents, chapters that could be used actually developing the girls and their relationship with Rentaro
I don't think any parent will successfully prevent any of the girls from dating Rentarou, maybe some might try, but let's face it, Rentarou is too great, he will make them accept, he might even get theirs mothers, which might make the fathers afraid of him tho XD 12:11 I like the fact that just like the God the MC seems to know he is in an anime and he just don't care. Also, Rentarou is good because he is not dense/coward like most harem/ecchi shows, he is sincere, wants to do things and respects and cares for them all, i love the fact he knew the girls weren't confortable and to let them solve things instead of trying to intervene himself like some sort of hero, he is not just a Chad, he is what the Chads aspires to be. Shizuka is still the best girl for me, i like that she managed to interact with them all and officially join the haren, she deserves to be happy.
The third episode cemented that the series really has heart, and shows the sort of lengths Rentarou will go to, but this episode seals in the idea that the relationship, writ large, really can be made to work. It's exaggerated, obviously, but the girls reaching their mutually protective stance - and Rentarou giving them the space and trust to work it out - really sets up what I think is key to the show: these girls aren't only each in a love relationship with Rentarou, they're necessarily in a relationship with each other, and the mutuality of that level of caring needs to be there (imo) for it to work long term.
There was a time when people would say Anos Voldigoad was the GOAT and Rizz God with just everything he accomplished in his Season 1 Anime......but he has found a true rival of the Rizz God title in Rentaro in my eyes with just his own Season 1.......and Rentaro is just a mere mortal teenage boy who got SCREWED OVER by a God of Love via one mistake and NOTHING else. Utter Rizz God Chad.

I'm really enjoying your reactions to this series so far! I used to watch a lot of anime from middle school to high school but stopped because of burnout/didn't really feel like there was an anime I could sit through anymore. @@pen4997 Yeah, Thanos and Iron Man weren't doing so hot after using the Infinity Stones in Civil War. A temporary high with painful lasting consequences.
@@dl2839 Except this man will take any pain willingly, that's the difference, and an even bigger difference is that he'll get up from anything thrown at him when it comes to his GFs. Like, actually, he broke his spine and healed it through pure love, this guy is a monster.
45:36 Don’t know why I want to add or say something for this one, but thinking on it, mine is both probably lessening myself and not. I actually did add how I would define myself. It just happens to be after this unnecessarily long paragraph. It’s on the next paragraph if anyone is interested. I do know that, because my guardian would purposely call out my actions while growing up, I think less of myself a lot less than I used to, but also it’s difficult not to put myself down, especially since, in the thin line between “normal” and depressed, I am almost constantly leaning toward the latter, and with the long nights due to taking enough courses to keep me working, eating, and sleeping nonstop (work taking up all but 2-3hrs between waking up and going to sleep), I can’t afford to put myself down in the dumps. Anyway, I would define myself as: A genius in some areas, but also incredibly incompetent in many aspects of social categories, or in general, communication. While I do well with more academic subjects (math, science, etc), I fail in understanding many different things, both academic based and socially, from instructions for assignments to accidentally ending all contact with people by sending a text I don’t look over enough times (nothing mean, but just too conclusive and inviting no further ability to actually reinitiate contact). I have been improving, according to people around me, but every time I send something like that type of text, I end up revisiting it a few days later and just going, “Well, f*ck”, before feeling like I just fell back in my progress of improving on communication. Anyway, that’s all. Just wanted to comment on it haha. Sorry it’s so long
Something I picked up and turned it into my own headcannon is that the reason why Karane was the one who noticed Shizuka not expressing what she really wants to do is because of her tsundere personality. It''s because of something that she herself is struggling to do, which is to express her feelings sincerely.

As of right now - all of girls were single when they met Chadtorou. Dads are safe for now
Late to say this, but “small floof” is something the subs added, in the manga Hakari calls Shizuka a “natural little animal”
The dub calls her a "precious Cinnamon Roll"
