    Quick review of a very nice 2016 VW E-golf SE. This was one of the very few EVs I haven't driven and the amazing folks at Flanagan Motors here in Missoula, MT allowed me borrow it for a short time to do a video on. Acceleration is amazing, as with most EVs, 4 levels of regen braking and all the reliability and comfort you come to expect from VW is ever present in this electrified version of a tried and true classic! Enjoy my first review of an all electric car, this is the beginning of a great journey!

    Super eco mode wont blow cold air for A/C, volume on your radio only goes to a certain volume, etc.

    I’m thinking about buying my first electric car & I need advice or tips. What to look for regarding battery life, charging times, things to replace or look for to better extend the life of the car. Does cold weather affect your battery? Any advice would be super helpful. I want to make sure this car is the right fit for me before I sign to lease it. Thank you all so much! 🙏🏽

    Looking to picking up a 2016 SE for $20k and 32k miles. I live in CA so not extreme cold but live 51 miles from my office. Good news is that my office has free ev charging and a ton of stations available. You think this would be a good buy in your opinion?

    Hi. Is it normal for an e golf to loose 1 mile a day parked if you noticed used. It left a it at 130 km range, next day it was 127 km range when I got in.

      @TheEVGuy85  3 года назад

      Definitely not normal, to my knowledge. I would take it in and have your local dealership run a battery diagnostic if you're able

      Also your batteries are hot when they charge after the next day the batteries are cooled down. I lose about 5 miles just getting up to speed on the freeway as well. I dont drive nice lol

      @@moltenphoenix6187 So would you recommend charging on a day you’re not driving & then drive the next day to give it some cool off time? I’m looking to purchase my first electric car & it’s typically cold where I live.

      @@tgandhib26362 Well I had a first generation battery. It is the same as a phone. Just don't leave it on the charger for so long that the battery gets hot. If you have a 400 mile battery I believe there is directions to only charge up to 75%.

    Not sure I like the analog like you do, great step for VW after dirty diesels!

      Totally agree! The gauges are cool but honestly, they don't give too much useful information to be honest.

    It’s a 2016 e-golf with 41k miles for around $12k you think that’s a good deal? Do these have fast charging?

    • @moltenphoenix6187
      @moltenphoenix6187 3 года назад +1

      Yea, I own one. It all depends on what charging station you take it too. Its like regular and premium gas. They have 5kwh chargers all the way up to 150kwh. I just use the city one for free for 5kwh and charge it for 2 hours after work every night. That charger he plugged into was awful. Your home charger which comes with your vehicle takes 8 hours.

      As for fast charging it depends on where in the country you are,some states have better than others. I moved to Norway and they have a fast charger in any direction within 31 miles throughout its 385,207 km² space. They even have a fast chargers inside mountains and snow caves lol, absolutely crazy😂

    Absolute pile of garbage car. Had it for two years and 13k miles, payed $19,000 with interest only get 75 miles on a good day when it was advertised at 90-hwy / 110 city.
    DO NOT BUY THIS CAR

      It’s definitely a short range ev. Depends on the conditions but that sounds about right. Wish it had been more in line with the i3 with the biggest battery.

      Just because a car is rated for 90 mpg-e hwy and 100 mpg-e DOESNT mean it gets 90 miles range in the city and 110 hwy. That’s your fault you didn’t understand the terminology.

      I get 125 miles on a normal day and about 80 in the winter month with snow and freezing temperatures.😂 Takes 20 min to charge it from 0-80%.. freakin love it.

      I got super nervous when I first started and would forget to breath lol. It’s a thing and I’ve managed to get over it, thankfully lol

      Has that affected your battery life? If so I would love to know since it’s typically cold where I live too. Thank you & I’m sorry that’s the case for you 😢
