He is wrong on so many accounts.
    1) Khalid Sheikh Muhammad was captured by Pakistan intelligence agencies. Pakistan was reluctant to act against Afghan Taliban; however, it did everything to dismantle al-Qaeda. In fact, Pakistan has reduced al-Qaeda to ineffective militant group.
    2) For 4 years (2001-2005), Pakistan requested the United States to stop India and Northern Alliance from using Afghan terrain against Pakistan but the United States didn't do anything in that regard. Consequently, Pakistan started taking bold measures to protect itself.
    3) Pakistan's support for Afghan Taliban was tacit and based on the fact that it represented a large section of Afghan society.
    4) The war economy that the United STATES has created in Afghanistan serves the financial needs of all militant organizations that include Taliban.
    5) Pakistan is fencing Pakistan-Afghanistan border to protect itself. What the United States and Kabul regime are doing?

1st of all i am disappointed by one side story being told which is against the bitter reality that Pakistan is facing.
The guest told that LET or Lashkar E Taybaa is against India but how carelessly he did not mentioned the reason behaind that?
Everyone knows that India has an illegal occupation on Kashmir, as all of u may know that UN Security Council's resolution on Kashmir is still waiting for its implementation for many decades now.
So why do u think that being silent in the favour of India would not result in a fight againat India and its allies?
All the 28 minutes interview was a hate speech against Pakistan..
Being a journalist its shameful for the host, that she did not knew where the Pakistan exists in the world map.
Further the map which was shown in the video depicts the Indian Occupied Kashmir as a proper part of India....is it not that unethical at all?
Is this not against the character of a true journalist and journalism?
Is this not also against the UN charter and its resolution on Kashmir?
Well all in all i found this interview or debate useless.
Yes it was our failure that we did not knew where Osama Bin Laden was.. but no one in the west points to the fact that Pakistan has lost 70000 of its men in America 's war on terror..
U say u gave us dollars well we have done more then u have given us. We have faced more financial loss of that was givin to us in retuen. We have helped u in cold war and u left the Mujhadians in Afghanistan and imposed sanctions on Pakistan?
Then one day that leftover in Afghanistan struck u on 09-11, then again we became blue eyed nation for u..we gave our blood to ur security and still u blane us for u wrong doing in Afghanistan?
Well i can write more then that but i think its time for me to put a full stop now as the hoest of this program doest not deserves more then this..

It is written in Quran that Kashmir belongs to India. Pakistan attacked Kashmir than Maharaja of Kashmir signed Instrument of ascension with Indian Union. Please don’t support terrorist who have killed hundreds of American soldiers.

I pity on you that in your country they dont tell you correct history and facts. It shows here. To how many such analysts, you will blame for putting false narrative here? There are many who have researched on pakistan and they say the same thing. You are just mentally and factually bankrupt.

The USA has historically propped up fascism for its own short-term goals which resulted in longer term injustice & hence failure of its own policies in many countries as mentioned in the interview. In Pakistan both the USA & China are strengthening fascism & unaccountable military rule. This is bound to inflict pain not only on the people in Pakistan but in the region, possibly the world.

    • @Komal_US

Well said. Pakistan opened itself to other powers, to be used by them, fighting their wars in return of dollars plus many other favors... instead of paying attention on development and building the country.

Currently usa is worried about china's economical growth. That's the point which is shaping usa foreign policy. Instead of spending on the development of usa backward and broken infra structure n it's torn up social fabric usa is more worried about other countries. China Pak relationship don't change every day of the week but r based on strong friendship. Usa should now do more to make itself a trustworthy partner for Pakistan n china instead of having hate love relationship. Usa should focus more on internal socio political economical issues and it's international debts

the us policy makers barely care about pakistan even in its current state , if pakistan possessed no nukes. it would have remained even more " "less noticeable".
pakistan is largely defined by its neighbors
      - near Afghanistan -> war on terror
      - near iran -> sanctioned country funding anti-Saudi groups
      - near china -> rising economic power / rivalry
      - near india -> big population/market
      - near shipping lanes -> control over ships
even with such a powerful geopolitical situation its just another failed mil run state , barely repaying debts and addicted to the IMF which is funded by the US to a large extent

The guest talks about the India's concerns but ignores Pakistan's worries regarding India that is not only 5 times bigger than Pakistan but also extremely belligerent towards it. The evidence for India's belligerence Pakistan shared with the UN un the form of a dozier.

Mr makay Is telling us about India Pakistan relationship but should also teLL us about us role on indian occupation of the indian held kashmir and changing it's independent status to full merger forcefully. Usa did nothing to resolve this issue n provoke India to act as a regional super power knowing that PAKISTAN won't bow to India and if hostilities continue then this may lead to a bigger n last war . Usa should stop playing the role of world policeman n just to sell it's weaponry ignite the hot issues between India china n Pakistan.

I m sorry to say that such are the professor of Johns Hopkins. What a sorry state of educational standards there and that renders this authors under discussion book piece of junk and not a balanced theory. Some facts about US Pak relationship are correct but the author failed to give a balanced narrative.

Technically speaking Mr makay is correct the the donated money to Pakistan n other countries actually reaches very quickly to usa . But who is responsible for harbouring the ill gotten money in USA. Why usa harbours that money n why west don't return that money to the affectees. Usa, UK Canada Australia Germany France Spain and other first world countries should return our ill gotten wealth immediately.

Now that the dust has settled to a fair extent and Pakistan has very clearly stated its policy, it would be interesting to hold another review on the subject. And review what is there in this relationship on long term basis. Not transactional but geo-economical and mutual respect basis.

    No Exit from Pakistan
Dubbed the most dangerous place on earth and a black hole for American aid, Pakistan is stuck in a tormenting relationship with the United States. What are the fragilities that afflict both parties and how can America manage its relations with Pakistan in the complicated context of a rising Asia? How do Afghanistan, China, India and Iran play into the calculus? Guest: Dr. Daniel Markey, Former Secretary's Policy Planning Staff, U.S. State Department

Well being from India and part of this channel I can surely say US-Pakistan relationship is one thing that India will be concerned about under Biden administration, former administration had more leaning towards India (due to China), this will something India would be looking forward how US frame its new India policy.
