    You got my sub. I am just very early in my journey ( 500 ELO ) but love playing the Catalan and like your Videos. Your very authentic and that's why I will now watch many more videos of your channel :)

      How far have you come in these 2 months?

      @@ismailgudic8314 currently my ELO is 640. But I have to say I play very few games. Just 1 or 2 every 2-3 days, but then 15|10 focus . I try to focus on quality games and analysis afterwards. :) so I probably will climb slowly but steady :)

    It was great to watch. Thank you for sharing. Those positions aren't soooo easy to play for me.
    These days I'm giving the old English opening a go. I think I might be able to get the Catalan from time to time, but I don't know. 1.d4 seems better to get it, but I've only played 1.e4 up to now, so I don't feel confident playing 1.d4 right away.
    Your videos give me some inspiration though. Great stuff ( I'm 1900 on lichess, gunning for 2000, just for info ).

      Yeah it can always seem overwhelming to try something you don't have much experience in. I'd recommend giving it a try though and just seeing how your opponents actually handle it. A lot of people at this level online aren't that studied up on the Catalan.

    Another instructional video on Catalan setups, including Ne5 against that pesky c5 line. Do you prefer to play 3) Nf3 against a possible Queens Indian or 3) g3 against a possible Benoni with c5? I'm starting to think I'd rather face the Queens Indian as you did in game 3. Studying hard for 3 tournaments next month!

      I'd rather face the Queen's Indian - at least that's how my preference has evolved in more recent times.
      Wow - 3 tournaments is a lot haha

    @sam
    You inspired me to learn the Catalan.
    Is it possible to force the Catalan against 1.d4d5 2.c4e6 ? Or do you need a QGD repertoire against 1.d4d5 2.c4e6 ? Is the Catalan strictly against 1.d4♘f6 2.c4e6 ?

      You can play 3.Nf3 against 1...d5 2.c4 e6, and then after 3...Nf6 4.g3 and we are in Catalan territory :)

    Can you make a video about the queens indian? Since the move order i reach the catalan is d4 c4 Nf3 :)

    btw, in the open catalan c5 line I would consider your move Qb3 against Be7 an inaccuracy. You could have played Bf4 Rc8 Nxd7 Qxd7 Ne5 Nxe5 Bxe5 when you have the two bishops, the pawn on d4 will drop and black has to play very precisely to hold on
