It all became generic Christian Rock that just panders to the middle class white folk talking about their pickup trucks, dating 17 year olds & wearing Jeans, the backing tracks could be royalty free and you'd never know because they're all the same sounding, no use of banjo, harmonica, violin/viola/Fiddles or any other staples of classic country music

Hey Adam! Question for you! Have you ever accepted Jesus as your personal savior from your sins? Please let me explain...
We have ALL sinned. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;"
Well, that sin dooms us to hell. But God sent His son Jesus to die for our sins and make the sacrifice necessary to redeem us for our sins. John 3:16 Says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Romans 6:23 Says "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Jesus was buried but rose from the dead on the third day from the grave and beat death!! Jesus Christ has made a way for us to go to heaven instead of hell!
Jesus can save your soul if you will let Him!
Repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus today! Call out to Jesus and ask Him to forgive your sins and Save your soul!
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." -Romans 10:13

Actually George, with good mastery of the instrument's breath support, you would never be out of breath because the harmonica actually plays both blowing out and sucking in, so as long as you pace yourself well you could just play and play all day without running out of breath! This is what makes the harmonica able to play such obscenely long lines that just seem to meander on and on and on, something I really like about then :)

    • @dragontamer9323

Harmonica has 20 notes, 10 of which are "draw", and 10 are "blow.
Rapid play is not actually "stopping" your breath, but instead tongue blocking / slapping: you use your tongue to cut off the air while blowing steadily.
With careful arrangement, you can steadily breath in (draw) your air, while playing some notes, then breath out (blow) on other notes, while tongue-blocking / slapping to keep the rhythm correct.

    • @Martinarmonica
      @Martinarmonica 2 года назад +19

When you play in such a demanding manner, it's usual for you to get a little hyperventilated. Just a little bit, though.
There's a saying for learning harmonica, which is to "breath through the instrument". Unlike other wind instruments, harmonica is both blown and drawn, so you don't have to alternate between breathing and playing; you just do them both as one. So that helps preventing exhaustion.
Plus, harmonica reeds are really tiny. You don't really to mobilize too much air to make them sound.
And, finally: it's very frequent that two notes are in the same "direction". Say, for example: you are playing a C harmonica and you need to play C, E and G. These three notes are located in holes 4 blow, 5 blow and 6 blow, respectively. In other words: they are all blow notes, and they are all in adjacent holes. So you don't need to cut your airflow. You just keep blowing as you slide from left to right.

Such a cool clip! Didn't see a thorough explanation in the comments so for those wondering why he changed keys etc:
Key signature: B Major. (Clip ends with a plagal cadence in B).
He starts out playing the E harmonica soloing in B Mixolydian (bluesy sound).
Middle section switches to E Major. He plays the A harmonica to get E7(the dominant of 4), giving it that more bluesy/country sound. Before going back to the E harmonica to get (B7->E) and back to home. Then proceeds to shred all over E Major with the E harmonica.
Back to A section, more B mixolydian soloing then out.

I love this channel! You didnt leave the harmonica out and i bet a lot of people appreciate it. I love the story behind this technique, and sharing is really amazing in the world of music.
To play different notes on the harmonica, most of the movement must come from sliding it with your hands but moving your neck the least possible. To get the speed he needed, Buddy Greene started moving his jaw left and right subconsciously, adding a third motion to the harmonica sliding.
One day, when he was practicing speed building, a guy that was watching him said to him "Man!, you look like a guy eating your corn!". The "corn eater" technique was shown on this performance. Can't tell if he was the first ever to pull it off, but he is the first that was filmed exploiting it like this.
    Happy sharing everyone!❤️
