I usually wear them around the house for a few hours wearing a thicker sock each day for the first week when new. This stretches any tighter spots like the vamp and gets some flex in the sole, softens the shaft, wears in the heel counter, while also forming my feet to the insole. I’ll also go outside and scuff up the soles once I know I’m keeping them and not returning them, on some concrete to get some traction before heading out wearing the boots on a normal basis.
I just started TODAY watching your videos… First: Thank you for your service! Second: your style and confidence is contagious and makes me want to better myself. Third: please keep it up!
My first foreman when I started tree work told me to put the boots in the oven on the lowest setting for about ten minutes before sloping them up with Huberd’s shoe grease. When he showed up the morning after buying a new pair of $500 Wesco boots, mad as hell and wearing his old ones, I figured out he fell asleep and baked his boots all night.
Thanks man i just had my very first pair of boots from bootbarn and they sqeak really hard snd its embarrassing walking outside i’m just gonna walk around the house and garden wearing for a couple of hours even when chilling thanks for the tip brother 🤙🏻
Very correct information! 👍 Also saw the one about your collection...😳😯...holy moly...impressive...!! Would you consider to do one about hats??🇧🇪 (Belgium Europe)
Very good video. I prefer hard leather insoles, if a boot I have to have has an insert for an insole I size it so I can remove the insert and wear the boot with just the hard leather insole. I also prefer American made... I have 8 pairs different hides
It took me about 6 months of everyday wear to really break in the shaft. Now they are an inch shorter than when they were brand new. They are nice and broken in
I need urgent help with my boots. They are pushing against my ankles so badly, I can’t even walk too much around in the house with them. Can you give me some advice?
Just wear your new boots in short bursts at first eg) going out to eat; shopping, around the house etc. good boots should break in fairly quickly. But everyone is different.
You have to distinguish between “breaking in” the footbed and the vamp. Briefly filling and emptying a boot with warm water and then wearing it will help speed up breaking in the footbed. Not unlike wearing and sweating in a boot. You should condition the boot after! Conditioning the vamp will help soften the leather, hence making it more comfortable.
It's mind boggling how black folks make everything cooler, they just take things to the next level. I've seen plenty videos on “cowboys” but they just seem so plain and boring! Now enters the black cowboy with style and swag and now I'm ready to get my first pair of boots lol
