  • Learn how the Illinois Recreational Access Program (IRAP) is making a difference for families and individuals who enjoy hunting, fishing and the outdoors but don't have private land of their own where they can enjoy these activities. Since its creation in 2011, IRAP has leased more than 27,000 acres in 52 Illinois counties for outdoor recreational activities. IRAP is a program of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Special thanks to Ramiro Juarez and his family for sharing their hunter heritage story.

While your dad may never have been able to take you hunting, it sounds like he provided you with a life that allowed you to have that opportunity today. Obviously he did a great job raising you. Thanks for sharing your story. As someone who also never had a chance to learn to hunt growing up but very much wants to learn, this was a very inspiring story
