    Can you do A video on how to animate and showing examples? And a dance tutorial in the same dance style as they do at the auditions? 😇 I really want to audition for Disney when they have them again but don’t really have much experience!😭 Thankyou!🥰

    • @HollyLavender
      @HollyLavender  3 года назад +3

      Hey Pixie, as I auditioned and worked for Disney seven years ago now I am not sure if they have changed the format and I wouldn't want to give false info. If you youtube the parade that's the sort of dance you'll be doing. As for animation just go big! The bigger the better. Hope this helps.

    Hello, loved your video! I have a question about the animation round. When they ask you to portray a villain, should you pick a specific character (for example gaston or cruella) and mimic their movements and expressions, or should you just pull a scary face and start doing random villain movements? I thought that acting like Gaston by flexing my muscles could make me stand out to the casting directors, but it might look a little weird and out of place since it isn't what a 'typical' villian would do...

    • @HollyLavender
      @HollyLavender  7 лет назад +1

      Difficult one, I guess it depends on big you can portray them and how much you can do. They want to see how much you can animate at the end of the day. I'd say if it is obvious without any costumes or props then go for it and give it everything you've got! All the best.

    Hi, I love the video! Do you know if they offer seasonal face character contracts for the summer (july-september)? Because on their website it says that they only offer seasonal contracts that last a minimum of four months... Since I'm a student I can only work there for three, so I don't really know what to do...

    • @HollyLavender
      @HollyLavender  7 лет назад +2

      That maybe for this specific time. I know someone who was on a 4 week contract but they weren't face. I also know that some people were offered a contract a month after they auditioned so you'll never know. I would personally wait until you have finished school/college and then audition as you have to write down your availability and if you can only do a short period of time they may not give you a contract. Hope this helps and if you have anymore questions let me know.

    Hey I’m only 15 but have been wanting to dance at Disney since I first went and I would love to work there when I’m older 😂 This video was super helpful I have a few questions. 1) Are there separate auditions for parade dancers and characters? Or do they audition everyone and then decide who they want for characters and who they want as dancers? 2) If you are a face character would you have to perform in parades and do meet and greets within the park or do they hire separate people to perform (because I’d assume you wouldn’t need to be as fluent in French and other languages if you are just performing in parades and not talking to guests at meet and greets within the park) 3) How much French do you need to know? 😂 I am doing GCSE French but is that enough? 4) How many other English people are there? Is it easy to make friends even if your French isn’t great? 😂 Sorry for so many questions xx

    • @HollyLavender
      @HollyLavender  6 лет назад +2

      Hey! so the auditions vary depend on what you want to do so make sure you read the description and it will tell you everything you need to know. My audition was for both as I had to dance and animate.There are external dancers/singers there who only do certain shows/parades, the audition should specify. You learn French when your there I did GSCE French too and not gonna lie it wasn't very helpful. There are so many people who work there including americans and brits so you'll feel right at home. :)

      Lotte Mary Witteman yay congrats! 🎉 I got a call from an unknown number exactly a week later and then left for Disney 2 weeks after that so it was very fast. Some people I know took longer though it depends if they are in need your height/look for that particular time . You'll hear within 6 months if you get it and then you can also audition again if you wish.

    Hi Holly. I'm audititioning on Tuesday at pineapple. They say don't wear makeup but is a small amount of concealer ok ? And what do you recommend for hair

    • @HollyLavender
      @HollyLavender  6 лет назад

      I wore make up as I had severe acne at the time. Try and keep it as natural as possible though if in doubt put less on but bring make up with you so you add more if you think its appropriate. As for hair I had a graduating bob at the time so I had mine down. I would advise just to keep it off your face so they can see you. Good luck for Tuesday!

      It was something like "Disney character, parade and character look-alike performers" I can't remember the exact title but there are so many now. I reckon if it doesn't have dance or parade in the title I doubt you would need to dance.

    Hello! I'd to audition for this year (next week exactly) but I'd like to know also if it is necessary to send an e-mail before, or just going to the queue. I read on the web of the auditions: " Candidates should not wear street shoes" that means that I have to be barefoot? or maybe with trainers I'm okay?

    • @HollyLavender
      @HollyLavender  6 лет назад

      Ahh good luck! I didn't think there was an email address provided? I personally just turned up so thats a new one for me. As for the street shoes, honestly that made me giggle a little bit. I wore converse if thats considered a street shoe but I brought a variety of shoes with me just in case. If your not sure maybe do the same? I'm a dancer so I literally had my tap, ballet, jazz, I'm prepared for anything they throw at me :)

    hey, i want to audition for disney when I'm older but only thing is i do gcse spanish and have never had a french lesson in my life !
    if your just a fur character or a character dancing around in a parade do you need to speak french? if you do how much french do you need to know? and how much did you have to speak from experience? when i went to disneyland paris the person who greeted me before meeting mickey mouse spoke to me fluently in about 15 different language (which only 2 i recognised lol) before finally speaking to me in english! i couldn't figure out which language was her first language! lol:)Also if you could do a video on all the choreography you learned in the audition it would be great for practice.
    thanks for reading this, hope you can answer some of my questions xx

    • @HollyLavender
      @HollyLavender  5 лет назад

      Hey! So learning French is good as a lot of people speak it (being in Paris and all) you learn on the job as your surrounding by French speakers you do learn quite quickly. Disney do help you with basic phrases so I wouldn’t worry but speaking French is definitely an advantage. As for the choreography I auditioned a while back and it may have changed and the dance is the second round so you will need to pass the animation round first. Hope this helps.

    • @theamazingworldofizzy8295
      @theamazingworldofizzy8295 5 лет назад

      @@HollyLavender thanks for the help ! i already know a couple basic phrases here and there so I'm sure if my main focus was french id pick it up pretty quickly:) as for the animation , how many people got through ? and do you have any tips and tricks that could help you and separate you from the people who didn't get through ? thx for replying btw xxx

    • @HollyLavender
      @HollyLavender  5 лет назад

      Truthfully not that many people. I would say that it is more based on your looks/height as the costumes are set and cannot be changed. Give it your all girl! go big or go home that's what I say. For the animation think your in a massive costume so your actions have to be super massive, the bigger the better and make it clear. Good luck and let me know how it goes :)

    • @HollyLavender
      @HollyLavender  6 лет назад

      Taylor Wiebe hey girl! I actually had a graduating bob at the time (my hair grows incredible fast) I would however recommend that you keep your hair away from your face just so the panel can see you and your not constantly being distracted by moving your hair. As for make up I went with just foundation as I had severe acne at the time if in doubt come with none on and bring stuff with you so you can put it on if need be I would say come as natural as possible. Hope this helps :)
