NHL '95 Playthrough

1994, SNES, Genesis. Rating: 2.5 out of 4 stars
NHL ’95 looks and plays decently, but the AI continues to be spotty, at best. Matching how a hockey game looks and feels is easier said than done. While total fealty isn’t expected, the AI tends to make a lot of silly mistakes on both sides of the puck. It leads to many more fits and starts than a regular hockey game might expect. In terms of general action, it feels fine, but the ’95 edition seems to have followed the real-life counterparts and taken most of the year off to do whatever else. Not a bad game, but it’s definitely a few rungs below the ’93 and even the ’94 edition, which had more going for it.
