A person in my community was getting a bit behind with their yard care and I asked if they needed a hand! Hopefully this video inspires others to reach out to people in their community that might be in need :)

About 7 or 8 years ago my next-door neighbor, who was a U.S. soldier, passed away from brain cancer. He was a really nice guy who loved taking great care of his yard. After he passed I started caring for his yard, mowing, hedging, the works. When I did mine, I did his. I did it to honor his memory, because I knew he would like his yard looking good. His widow eventually hired a service but I'm grateful I could do that for him.

@Rich Miranda Bless you! When my husband passed away unexpectedly I had TWO neighbors who said they would cut my lawn when it needed it. When push came to shove neither one of them showed up and I had a tangled mess to deal with in the Spring. I was just overwhelmed, I was 63 years old before I had to buy and use a lawnmower, but I managed to get my act together eventually. Don't tell me you're going to do something, then leave me hanging!!! But I'm not bitter, lol!!!

I’m disabled, and unable to do our yard care. My husband works full time, does 90% of the housework, looks after me, and also volunteers to help a youth program - so he’s very busy and doesn’t have a lot of spare time to devote to yard work.
He also has severe allergies, and doing yard work (even with a mask) makes them flare. He mows when our yard gets absolutely desperate, but isn’t able to do regular weeding, or spraying, or things like that. So after eleven years, our front and back yard are mostly weeds and barely grass.
We can’t afford to regularly pay someone to do it for us, as I’m too sick to work, so we’re only on one income, and we both have a lot of medical bills.
Seeing this video, where this man saw someone in need and said “Hey, how can I help?” instead of judging them... it just made me so happy! I’m so grateful, even though it wasn’t my yard you were fixing up. I’m so happy for that lady, and grateful for the message you are sharing, encouraging people to help those in need. ❤️

our neighbor broke his leg once & wasn’t able to cut his grass for a long time so my dad would always cut the grass in our yard along with all of his so the neighbor wouldn’t have to stress about it. Last year, my dad had surgery and took 3 months to recover & it makes me sad that the same neighbor would always ask him when he was going to cut the grass bc it was making the area look terrible. I would’ve done it myself but I had to work all day due to covid hitting & my dad and mom not being able to work bc of it. Don’t be like our neighbor, be like my dad

As a woman who mowed the grass every 12 days in summer and took pride in my yard, it killed me to no longer be able to mow after injuring my back in Oct 2010. As such there has been 3 occasions where my grass grew to around 1 metre high. It was shattering but so much easier to shut the doors and not look at it. I could have done with someone like you back then. It’s now mowed regularly.

I am 76 years old and these videos inspire me. Before I had COVID Delta a year ago, I did my own yard work and loved it. Now I need help and a neighbor is graciously helping me with it. I've made some progress cleaning up the mess from the year of only mowing the grass (all I could do and it took me two weeks to do the front and back yards due to my weakness and disability, so it never ended). I've been cutting the volunteer trees and shrubs down, getting the edges clean, filling the holes from when the big trees were removed 10 years ago, and planning what needs to be where. Sometimes you just need some help! So THANK YOU for the inspiration and motivation to do what I can.
