I love restoring vintage odds and ends. What antique do you want to see Restored?

These swords were made in India and sold as souvenirs for tourists in a few european countries. As you noticed they were cheaply made, with softer.metal blades that were never hardened or really sharpened. The "blades" had an ornate design stamped on them, but the stamping was typically shallow and did not survive rust or wear. The blades were chromed to keep rust away.
I think your restauration made the sword look better than than was originally. I wonder if the blade could be hardened and sharpened for use.....
Used to have one of those tourist things as a kid. Bought it in Spain, I think.
Build quality was utter rubbish.
You turned it into a nice looking wall hanger.
Spot on, my dad brought two new in the 1980's, came with red velvet covered scabbards. The tang is so thin one hit and the blade would bend 😂
I am sure the tourists did not intend to use it in a war 😊
Ahh if it can be hardened/tempered if it isn’t already it would be a fine functional blade. It has a full-tang at least
Where the bolt emerges on top of the horse's head and the nut goes might actually make it a Unicorn. Nice restoration!
I like that idea.
I thought it was more of a top hat, just paint it black.
Damn it I was getting ready to say the same thing lol!!!! Great minds think alike!!! 😂
Name the horse - Bad Horse! :D The Thoroughbred of Sin. It looks gorgeous in the end.
4:54 The cleanest hedgehog in town!
...lookin' great, nice work...''Slash'' would be a good name for the sword's horse...lol..
The moment I saw bolt on top😢 says it all 1980 souvenir 😂
I also own a souvenir sword very similar to this. I believe mine is adorned with a lion hilt, it's old but we have no idea how old. Thinking that during my oldest brother's travels across many countries he picked it up and sent it to my Dad possibly before I was even born.
Beautifully done!
Amazing! What a beauty. Thank you for this gift.
What’s a Amazing Job!!!
Sword 🗡 is very cool.
We call the name “Red Eye Ball”. That’s honor that you created red Diamond on horse’s eye.
I’m sure India 🇮🇳 people really love your work. Maybe, Indians offer you to work on swords. That’s business.
It’s up to you! I’ll see you next amazing tools, knives, locks and et cetera.
Enjoy it! 😊
Beautiful restoration mister good job well done
It looks like an Indian imitation of a British military sabre for the benefit of tourists. You've got it into about as good a condition as was ever likely; it'll be fine on somebody's wall, but not a serious weapon for use or for proper military dress. Well done. Decent restoration.
Great work
Excellent work
Brilliant
Very nice restoration.
How about “A Horse With No Name”? This would make American happy! 😉
I shall call the house Mr. Brazeneck. I like his bowler hat.
Excelente trabalho !
Nice work , hope the owner is looking down and sees it restored.
I'm glad Sir Neighs Alot enjoyed his carrots at the end! He's looking shiny and sharp! Great restoration work!
Very interesting restoration project 🌹❤️🔥
I have one of those somewhere they weren't old swords, they were cheaply made for the tourist market. You probably spent more time restoring this sword than it did to make a 1000 of them in India lol Nice job though.
A good name for that sword would be "tornado"
, Zorro used a fencing foil with a similar gaurd style. (I could possibly be wrong on this )
The horses name shall be Fabio, in honor of Zanny’s horse.
Bravo!!!!👏👏👏🇧🇷
That's indian sword called talwar, and sword handle is brass and tiger head handle, it's look like not very old but you done very unique and beautiful work bro and I have enjoyed thanks.
Great restoration, the red eyes are a nice touch. What did you put on the sword to prevent it from rusting in the future?
Name for the horse is, ....obviously... , Rusty :D
I have this exact same sword
It looks like a Talwar made for the tourist trade.
What water do you use to remove rust?
What do you do with all these items you fix.
I think the horses name should be Zorro, after the move; The Legend of Zorro
Круто!!! Я думаю Барбосса (капитан Барбосса) оценил бы!
I have a question where did you get the rusted sword from? Anyway nice job!
You used to be able to get those very cheap here in the US for $20. They had a horse head or lion and were badly chrome plated.
Nice veggie chopper you made sir!, lol
The horse shall be named Steve.
Brassie? I was going to say 'Mr. Ed'. Lol
Sonic cleaner right right, thought that was a Rice Cooker.
It's a saber something mounted cavalry would have used.
Name him Ashva. The Sanskrit word for horse. Well done.
Another great and beatiful restoration 😃👍⚔️. Congratulations and greetings from Belgium 😉🇧🇪🖐️
FAKE RESTORATION EXPOSED. Look at the rust, isn't real.
Indian wedding sword
Looking at the thumbnail and the first seconds of the video, the sword felt very familiar, till I realized that I have 2 of these hanging right behind me :D
I think the horse should be called Kevin.
Mere pass bhi easihi talwar hai
Personally I’d have used a TIG welder over a MIG to weld the crack
It looks more like a camel than a horse.
I wish there was a way to leave the patina without letting it further damage the items. I’ve always thought it was pretty
❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍
Looks like a souvenir/wall hanger. But back in the day Indian metallurgy was the best in the world. As were their swords.
Lion / tiger head is common in Indian swords but it seems to be from Western part perhaps Rajasthan so it may be camel head. But not even close to horse head
Eu não sei se é:
Adaga
Espadachin
Espada
Mas que está linda
Está
Show
Best horse name (PT-BR)
Pocotó
Name him George
wildfire
Name the Horse "RUSSEL!!"
How about naming it Copper
Someone more see a herbivorous dinosaur? 😂😂
That is a shitty souvenir. Got two of them 😂
Name the horse Patina
Too bad that you did not preserve the original engraving on the blade
The restored blade has a different shape than the thumbnail blade. Seems like they are two different objects. Could just be camera angle I suppose
Ghoda is Hindi for horse.
It's an Indian Tiger.
Sir Ed
looks like an English-made saber because the hilt is not Indian style.
This is not old saber. Тhat a modern shit for stupid tourists. But, I don't speak bad for work. That's very good!
could be a camel
Hector horse
its a camel
I have one on the desk in front of me at this moment; that I bought at the local Community Aid Abroad shop in Australia in the 70s for $5. The design is actually lightly etched into thin chrome plating which is why it didn't last. It has "made in India" on the ricasso in English on one side, and in Sanskrit on the other. Heavy, unwieldy, unbalanced , very cheap and poor quality. Might be OK for cutting carrots or just scaring an intruder with ! That wire wheel is much too harsh for "restoring" anything !
Nice job rescuing this sword but, the fact remains that it's a piece of tourist junk, poorly made and only good for hanging on a wall to be looked at, which after your restoration is where it should go. Still I admire the work you put into it.
so fake
Excessive un-necessary drama...bye!
