The heatwave episode feels a little creepy. There's the fact that Jade and Cat become steadily more underdressed (including the infamous watergun scene), and Tori says to Trina, "I heard you swallow", which seems innocent in context until you hear it used without context as the episode tagline and it just becomes gross.
No doubt. Like the way Trina licks the ice cream was funny to me as a kid, but as an adult, it just feels lowkey icky knowing some grown man told her to do that.
@@average-art3222 i think it depends more on the person. my teeth are pretty sensitive to sugar and cold so when i got two of my wisdom teeth out, i did better with scrambled eggs than ice cream
Yeah, but it has to be water base ice cream, like lemon ice cream, because milk base ones can cause infections, like the yogurt one in this episode. The ice is really good for tooth extractions, it makes the healing process faster
I didn't want anything in my mouth after my surgery, it even hurt to drink a breakfast essentials, I didn't eat anything for 5 days I only drank breakfast essentials. But everyone is different.
Matthew, i don't think you realize just how much pain dentists and doctors in general expect us to just go through when it comes to medical procedures here in the US. Trina not getting pain meds prescribed post procedure is probably the most realistic part of the episode lmao
You're not wrong generally that they can assume pain thresholds are higher than average. But there's no way in hell a US dentist didn't prescribe pain meds. Plus, you're supposed to take them a couple hours BEFORE the anesthesia wears off, so it has time to start working and there's no gap in pain relief. The fact that Tori just let the anesthesia wear off without any pain meds in her system ready to take over was her first mistake.
Jesus what part are yall in? I know health care is bad financial wise but my procedures have all been well done and greatly followed up with. Never had any complaints nor have my friends
You guys don't seem to realize how many doctors there are that don't think anything above an extra strength Tylenol is worth prescribing for almost anything. There are some extremely painful surgical procedures that doctors will only prescribe pain meds for because they're required to by law, then tell their patients not to take them and only take extra strength Tylenol "if they feel they have to", and if the patient even touches one of the, say, 8 percocet they were prescribed because they literally can't sleep at night from the pain they're in, they get yelled at by their doctor during one of their follow-ups for taking it. These aren't isolated incidents, this isn't a financial issue, it's an issue with doctors using personal decisions on whether or not they want to prescribe anything above what is basically OTC pain relievers for painful medical procedures, and even going beyond established medical precedent to do so. Hell, it's even quite common for the advice for painful gynecological procedures to be done without any anesthetic or any advice beyond "take a Tylenol or ibuprofen beforehand", which does absolutely nothing when someone is cutting chunks out of your nethers. For me, the only time otc pain meds work is when I take an excedrin for headaches, and that's it, they do nothing for me otherwise.

I never really realized how weird these shows were until now. Of course it all makes sense after knowing about the producer but like how did I genuinely watch this as a kid and think it was fine 😭
One of the problems people keep refering to with Victorious is the weird teacher relationship between Sikowitz and his students. The problem with Victorious is not that that's weird, it's even normal just not on a high school level or age. In The Netherlands we have some studies and schools which you'll be attending around your junior or senior year age (17,18) in which you go to a "Hollywood Arts" kinda school full of dancing, singing and acting classes but... The teachers will become your friends outside of the class hours. Because you are more colleagues with your teachers then high status and low status, in the eyes of the job section you wanna work in "theatre or music industry" . So it's not that unusual, the only unusual thing is the age. You would be more of 17 or 18 years old when you go to a school like that.
Thankyou! I did music at college (16/18) I used to have coffee with my teachers, we’d talk out of class hours all have inside jokes with them, smoke brakes. The lot there’s a different level of closeness between a music/drama and their students
How old do you think the students are? All of them can drive so they are at least over 16 and according to the episode „Robarazzi“ (Season 1, Episode 7) where Cat was addicted to purchasing items from Sky Store catalogue she used her own credit card and in the end even Sinjin‘s credit card. Which means both of them have to be over 18, otherwise they could have their own cards and since they all go to the same class, the group must probably be the same age. So they probably around the same age the art school students in the Netherlands you have described
Yeah, the biggest issue with their relationship is the age gap. They're all at least 16, but they're not adults. I don't think that the group of them going to watch their teacher perform is weird, but you can see the lack of boundaries throughout the show. One episode I always thought was weirdly inappropriate was when they all stay the night at his house. That alone should've been a red flag to their parents. They also made a competition of it, it was something like they all had character assignments and they had to stay in character while they were there. They all tried making each other break character, and when someone did, that person had to leave. Which meant that eventually, it would just be Sikowitz and one kid alone in his house. Obviously nothing serious happened, but I've never liked how the show normalized that kind of relationship between teacher and students. It could've made it easier for a kid watching to be groomed by a teacher and not realize until it's too late.
I don't think it's too weird. I'm pretty sure they are all adults or at least close to it, and Sikowitz is not a good authority figure, but he's more of a group leader and a good teacher. I think having this connection with them helps them step out of their comfort zone which is often really hard to do on stage. So, while not as extreme, all the drama teachers I've had and knew had similar tendencies. It's just a part of the acting craft, I think, and all the other teachers at the school seem pretty normal.
I love how you quickly understood and summarized the character of the sister but were still baffled by her insanity and didn't think Victoria's rage was justified.
03:25 I got my first wisdom tooth removed two weeks ago. I swear it was a clean pull by my dentist, because I had no lasting pain afterwards. Even though I've always heard it's one of the worst pains you could have!
Some things you need to know: •"Why is everyone so creepy?" -Is a Dan Schneider show. Man is the creepiest of creeps •"Why did she turn into a super hero after having her teeth removed?" -She didn't, she's always this unhinged •"Wow, little abusive" -Yes, Jade is abusive. You ain't seen nothing yet •"Does he think the puppet is a separate entity?" -Rex kinda is his own person. Robbie has quite a lot of trauma and created Rex to try to cope with it. I think Robbie is in a constant state of dissociation and projects the desired version on the puppet •"Her brother got stabbed?" -Yes. Cat's brother, even though he doesn't physically appear in the show, is a constant and caotic character. He is VERY mentally ill and has done the most absurd things to Cat, she shows signs of trauma in the entire show •The show has A LOT of problems, very obvious ones, but it is enjoyable. Back, Andre and Cat are very good friends to Tori, on latter seasons Cat gets more childish and the group make and unspoken agreement to protect her, even though they often fight they always get back together and are always supporting each others (all of this does not includes Jade, she sometimes cares about Cat but that's it. She's hot and talented though)
The guy who plays Trina and Tori's dad is Jim Pirri. You might know him as Angelo Bronte in Red Dead 2 or as Kraven The Hunter in Insomniac's Spider-Man 2.
If you do another Victorious episode I have to recommend Sleepover at Sikowitz's. The kids stay at Sikowitz's and they all have to stay in wacky character for a lesson in method acting.

Northridge is a city in the San Fernando Valley in California. Most know it as the home of the “Northridge Earthquake.” Northridge is a pretty suburban middle class area and the joke is usually supposed to be that it’s further from the superficiality of a place like Hollywood so people from there have high candor and/or that it’s simply less fancy, hence you get away with spending less on a date. Similar jokes come up in a lot of Southern California based movies and tv including Clueless when they go to a “Valley party” 🎉

There's the fact that Jade and Cat become steadily more underdressed (including the infamous watergun scene), and Tori says to Trina, "I heard you swallow", which seems innocent in context until you hear it used without context as the episode tagline and it just becomes gross.
So weird watching this as an adult who knows how creepy Dan Schneider is, gives a whole other meaning to some weird as f scenes
No doubt. Like the way Trina licks the ice cream was funny to me as a kid, but as an adult, it just feels lowkey icky knowing some grown man told her to do that.
@@singingwolf8997agree. But honestly, back then we didn't know, but slowly we knew the truth. It's honestly disturbing.
12:56 Matthew, if you didn't know, dentists literally recommend eating ice cream after getting your tooth removed. THIS IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE 😭
Agree but seriously, getting your tooth removed and your gum exposed, wouldn't that cause a much more painful urge to feel?
@@average-art3222no because the cold of icecream kinda numbs it!
@@Jaiiswifi same haha, though I've heard stories from others. I don't get it but I know it's a thing.
@@j.s.viewer3923I’ve had a kidney stone before and I was in a lot of pain and throwing up for days and the doctor didn’t prescribe any pain meds or anti nausea meds. That’s just America 🇺🇸
Something really neat is that this is not the last time we see Trina being surprisingly skilled at close-quarters combat. It's a thing.
not even surprisingly either she does karate and probably other martial arts
isnt it canon that the only thing she's really good at is martial arts?
Yay Vitorious
2:23 And sad part is no one even likes trina
4:12 sound scares he bit3s
5:42 yes she an air head but so sweet and innocent
7:55 robbie does this thing were rex(the puppet) is a "real" person and has "feelings" and yes he believes it real
There a whole episode on it
10:13 cat is known to tell the most random stories about her brother
15:32 yep
loopy meds? For trinas behavior 23:34
And happy Thanksgiving giving to all who celebrate
Rex is a separate entity. And he doesn't like being called a puppet.
Victorious is a social case study on how much weird shit one can put into a single episode without cancelling the show afterwards.
I never really realized how weird these shows were until now. Of course it all makes sense after knowing about the producer but like how did I genuinely watch this as a kid and think it was fine 😭
Back then, we were enjoying ourselves till our brains processed the actual truth.
It’s a great show tho let’s be honest
The funny thing about Trina is that in the show they say and show that she has like black belt karate skills, so her fighting back is very likely 😂
It could've made it easier for a kid watching to be groomed by a teacher and not realize until it's too late.
i just dont see whats so weird about their relationship
Some things you need to know:
•"Why is everyone so creepy?"
-Is a Dan Schneider show. Man is the creepiest of creeps
•"Why did she turn into a super hero after having her teeth removed?"
-She didn't, she's always this unhinged
•"Wow, little abusive"
-Yes, Jade is abusive. You ain't seen nothing yet
•"Does he think the puppet is a separate entity?"
-Rex kinda is his own person. Robbie has quite a lot of trauma and created Rex to try to cope with it. I think Robbie is in a constant state of dissociation and projects the desired version on the puppet
•"Her brother got stabbed?"
-Yes. Cat's brother, even though he doesn't physically appear in the show, is a constant and caotic character. He is VERY mentally ill and has done the most absurd things to Cat, she shows signs of trauma in the entire show
•The show has A LOT of problems, very obvious ones, but it is enjoyable.
Now we need him to watch the descendants movies cuz THAT WOULD BE EPIC
The guy who plays Trina and Tori's dad is Jim Pirri.
You might know him as Angelo Bronte in Red Dead 2 or as Kraven The Hunter in Insomniac's Spider-Man 2.
Or Boozer in Days Gone
@@alexandriastovall1147or even, one of the guys at the pie shop in iCarly
Oh yeah, Tori and Trina's parents are actively the worst. Any chance to not be responsible, they take it.
If you do another Victorious episode I have to recommend Sleepover at Sikowitz's. The kids stay at Sikowitz's and they all have to stay in wacky character for a lesson in method acting.
And if he does a third one I would totally recommend the heat wave, where they are in becks van!
@@Mikey-go7yowait, isn't that the episodes where they got stuck in the van cause a truck blocked their only way out? 😅
@@average-art3222 it is xD
Tori had so much rage pent up because of her parents and sister mostly her parents so that Friday was like the day to let it all go and Trina was just the one who took it all😂
You know what I found weird when Tori sang Freak the Freak Out, everyone thought she was good at singing AFTER she took off her
disguise-
Yeah Nickelodeon I see you🧐
yeah that’s the point
Yeah like even when she had the desguise her vocie was awesome
23:51 Trina is great at martial arts! She has a black belt in something but I don’t remember what it is
Yess this is such a good episode
also if you’d be interested in watching more of Tangled The Series, I’d recommend season one episode 16: Queen For A Day. It’s widely regarded as the show’s best episode, and has some of the most pivotal character moments (and also two songs). You don’t really need much context for it to make sense, and it provides context for a lot of the songs you’ve already reacted to.
idk if you’ll see this but you have an awesome channel :)
It’s time for Big Time Rush
You know the feeling when someone new comes to your school and are like " wtaf is going on why is this happening???" And you're just like "This is a regular Monday, just wait till Shinjin starts talking" ? Thats how it felt to watch this video.
Edit : We stan Shicowitz
I love your confusion with Rex and Robbie. Rex is his own character. 😂
Victorious was like one big fever dream
Lol. He has no idea the things Cat says about her brother😂
I love your reactions! I vote for more victorious episodes reactions, who's with me?
😂😂 sikowitz is genuinely hilarious and the best teacher he’s weird for sure
If you’re a fan of Victoria’s singing her and Leon’s duets always shine onscreen. Some duets of theirs you haven’t heard yet are Count Down, Faster Than Boys, and the Make it Shine Remix.
If you want songs of just her there’s Your The Reason (slow and fast version), Bad Boys, Make it In America and Cheer me Up
And if you want another song g with her and Ariana there is LA Boyz. 🙂👍
More Victorious is great, i love all the songs here
I wanted to say that not every episode is crazy like this. But it is, this show is unhinged and i love it! You know this one is a special episode bc it's 2 parts right?
FINALLLY OMG HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR U TO REACT TO THIS EPISODE FOR LITERALLY EVER 😭 u are experiencing what i consider history. The tori reveal was craaaaazy as a 7 yr old 😭 i was gagged
victorious is one of the wildest teen shows I've ever seen, but I loved everything of it haha
"Why did they have this set up at KARAOKE?"
Nickelodeon.
omg I know this show so well that it's just hilarious to see someone's reaction watching it for the first time! Laughing way too hard over here.
12:24 "Are those the b*tches?" God I can't. 😂😂😂
I remember watching this episode when it first aired it’s a great episode.I really enjoyed your reaction😃😃It’s best to watch the first episode to get to know the characters!!
Matthew, sweetheart, WE NEED MORE HEARTSTOPPER REACTIONS!!! NOW!!!
Yesssss I been commenting it on every video
the way your face was just stuck in permanent disgust, fear and confusion this whole video lmaooo. but yess i been saying that robbie is honestly creepy af
Honestly, as someone who grew up watching this I never questioned the weird transitions or "The Slap" intervals.
Now, I feel like I should've.
Sikowitz was one of the most unhinged characters on the show.... I found him absolutely lmao funny. Also, with the running gag of Trina being awful most episodes this episode is prefect.
There's just something about you always make things so much fun when I watch you thank you for making my day feel a little bit better in Happy Thanksgiving to you Happy Thanksgiving Matthew😊😊
Victoria justice has such an underrated voice
I was gonna point out about you missing context because it's a later episode in a series you've never watched, but then i shocked myself by looking it up and realizing it's only the 13th episode out of 57...way earlier than i thought
Northridge is a city in the San Fernando Valley in California. Most know it as the home of the “Northridge Earthquake.”
Northridge is a pretty suburban middle class area and the joke is usually supposed to be that it’s further from the superficiality of a place like Hollywood so people from there have high candor and/or that it’s simply less fancy, hence you get away with spending less on a date. Similar jokes come up in a lot of Southern California based movies and tv including Clueless when they go to a “Valley party” 🎉
Just wait until he sees Tori dressed as andres nan and keeps barging in screaming AAAAAANDRE!!
i have no idea how anyone HASNT recommended you LA boys yettt its sooo good its my favourite out of all the victorious songsss
In the US, they don’t offer painkillers because they go by this thing that that’s how you create an opiate addiction… it’s rare that they get prescribed to you sadly going through the pain still after getting mine pulled the other week….
Don't worry Mathew, the puppet confuses us all :)
29:56 Mathew McKenna, i think that why they make this show, for strange things, and the girl the they dont want to care on that night, is more as a child, then her sister
watch the first one, also u should watch the special where they go to that holiday place to sing there, i love that episode! (forgot what its called) (EDIT: FOUND IT, S2 E6)
I’m obsessed with you experiencing victorious
god you need to watch the episode where they go to Yerba

Please watch the Victorious and iCarly crossover after this 😂😂
Matt: “are the north ridge girls also going to be dummies?”
Me: Yes… oh he meant ventriloquist dummies… then no
PLEASE do another Ever After High episode! So much lore is about to come spilling out!
Welcome to the weird but amazing world of victorious
This makes me want to rewatch victorious. It’s still so funny 😂
15:55 so like rex IS another entity. he makes jokes when robbie is changing
The puppet (Rex) *is* a whole other entity.
This show is great it would be amazing if you watched mare episodes
I've done glow in the dark minigolf before. Yeah it is pretty neat.
he HAS to see the episode where Rex goes to the hospital haha
You got to remember this show is very campy , it was basically a teen/adult show trying to sell itself as a kid show. So some jokes are very weird😭
As someone who grew up with this show and is now going to college in Northridge, the Northridge girls jokes killllll meeee
Idk if you know this but the blonde girl that was mean to them was in Hollywood arts but they got a new principle and they had to audition again to the new principle and if she didn’t like your audition then your out so she got kicked out
24:23 It doesn't make sense that some random girl as they think, we know it is Tori is singing against them not like Jade or Cat.
This is the first episode of Victorious that i ever watched. I avoided the show initially, because shows like it are usually not my thing, but i was hooked at how chaotic everything was
12:07 Robbie does not control Rex, they’re just friends 😂
I wasn't given anything for ghe pain when I had my Wisdom teeth taken out. I was told to just take tylenon for the pain, drink hot tea for the swelling, and keep it iced for the and keep ice on my cheek to help pain in between Tylenol.
More “Victorious” reactions u should do “Locked Up”
btw giving anti-viotics for pain is a realistic thing not a good thing but realistic i remember saying my throat hurt once cause i had acid reflux but thought it was a cold and all they did was give me anti biotics and they did nothing
the chair with the water is a reference to the movie Flashdance

14:15 This is the most iconic performance from this show
Reason why there’s so many creepy moments is because Dan Schneider was the director
18:48 because the creator was also creepy
You should definitely react to more episodes after this!
There is an urban legend around that says Karaoke Doke, the restaurant faces economic problems. Thus, the owner cant bring a talented singer to sing, so his daughter with her friend fill this role. The reason that justifies their tendency to win every karaoke battle is that they can give away every time badges for the winners. So, they bought only one, the owner gives it to her daughter, then she gives it back and the cycle never ends.
