I like to wear this watch when cycling as the digits are so easy to read, and the watch itself is not too bulky like a G-SHOCK. It's practically a Protrek, and easily the most underrated sports watch in my collection.
My daily beater. I love it for that oversized digit display because I'm blind as a bat. And I use the timer all the time. The compass and worldtime came in handy when I was travelling. And it does wear much better on the nylon.
Thanks for sharing your experience
If you drown, your watch will survive. This thought gives great comfort.
At least the time your body is found can be recorded with high level of accuracy.
…and they won’t need another watch to record the “pulled from water” time.
I own this watch in negative display. Love it.
I do like the colour scheme on that negative display version, enjoy it!
I use this to measure the temperature in my room. Haha. It is kind of a cool, well made toy for the money though. It is not that I use the compass. it is that I might use the compass.
Me too, it's a handy use of a thermometer.
I am a Casio lover and collector. I bought an SGW-100 maybe ten years ago. It was a good watch for keeping time and it was very easy to read. The sensors are mediocre at best. The compass needs to be recalibrated quite often and the temperature sensor is not that accurate because it’s mounted to your wrist. After about 5 years I was unable to change the time on the watch. I still wore the watch for a couple more years but only 1/2 the year during daylight savings time. The watch did keep very good time. I went two years without needing to reset the time.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It gives more reassurance that this watch does the essential stuff well enough to last for a long time.
The battery lasted 5 years?
I own this watch. Great buy. Excellent review!
Thank you! One of my favorite watches, defiantly the best backlight in a watch in my opinion!
nice i have Casio illuminator and i use it as a daily driver its soo good
I am glad to hear that!
Very good review.
Thank you!
Here is the trick of the temperature you just adjusted 3 or 4 minus and the temperature will be accurate in general it will be like that but some others will be different it could be minus 2.
Thanks for the tip!
Something to bear in mind is that extra stuff weighs more on trails. Carrying a dedicated thermometer, compass and watch weighs more than just this watch. Also, you might not need all those things on trail, since most of us use phones and sometimes walk on well designated trails, but you might still find some use from them for convenience sake. Like if I want to complain about the temperature to my friend, I just need to look at my wrist and then I can do so. Or maybe you just need to know which direction at a trail fork to walk, and dont want to have to fish for the compass.
Lastly, if youre genuinely stranded and lost, youre guaranteeing yourself a compass on your person as long as you have that watch too. Watches have better battery life than your phone, so there is a use case.

Your cuts are way too close, it makes it hard to follow if you don't breathe and let us soak in what you just said. Try leaving more space between your cuts. (Not trying to be a jerk, it might help you in the future)
You are right, I need to slow down a bit. Thank you for the feedback!
You can adjust the playback speed 😂
Thank you for your very helpful tip.
Did not know that option, to be honest.
Very well deserved thumb's up!
@@youtube.is.censored.speech Seriously. I can't imagine JCS ever giving a random watch channel unsolicited advice like he's some kind of expert.
I bought this watch and it arrived yesterday with a strap that was at least 1" too long. I loved the features of this watch but could not find any strap for this that fit my wrist. My wrist measures 6 3/4" and the only wristband PN 10304188 was much too long. I returned the watch.
That's strange, did you get the rubber band version? I have this version with the green nylon strap, my wrist is 6 1/4" and it fits just fine.
@@simplewatchtalks Yes that is strange. I would wonder if there is some way either the method of measurement is different as I re- verified my measurement or If the discomfort of having an inch or so hanging out in the breeze does not bother you. It was the green nylon band, the same as yours. If I could have cut it back to only 3/4" from the buckle I would have done so. In the past, I had a Timex (compass) watch that fit perfectly but the band failed and they no longer supply replacements of any kind.
Good watch with two significant flaws: stopwatch duration is too short, so is the illumination. Make one with a 24h stopwatch and at least 3 (better 5) seconds backlight and add a vibration alarm and I'll buy a dozen right away.
I agree! If those things are added, this watch will seriously compete with the entry-level Pro Trek watches.
@@simplewatchtalksWhat is your arm circumference? I am 15.5 centimeters, so I don’t know how such a watch will look on my hand

Around 15.9cm
This is a great watch but the compass and thermometer are useless. Nice idea but...
It's not in stock in India and probably will never be.
That sucks buddy, let’s hope it will one day!
@@simplewatchtalks They are selling their premium range pro trek but not the budget ones. The sgw series only sells in mostly black
