This feature rich watch offers a great value proposition. Functionality and durability built in. The compass, once calibrated, is spot on. Remove watch for 20-30 minutes for accurate temperature readings. Oh, and 200m water resistant. Incredible value for money. I wear mine regularly.
At 9:12 - I’ve owned this watch for 7 years, I LOVE it. Just fyi, it does say in the instructions to check the temperature you MUST remove the watch from your wrist. Otherwise it will pick up your body heat. Removed I find it pretty accurate.
My mom gave this watch to my dad for his birthday while they were in the army. I am going to a marine school and need a watch so he gave me his swg 100. Got a battery and it still works after almost 20 years
13 also, the original battery lasted 10 years or so, the weird part that the replacement battery didn't work as good even from good brands like Varta or Duracell
i just ordered one. It sounds crazy, but I was originally looking for a watch for daily jogging--and only really need a stopwatch. I thought that having the extras of a compass and thermometer might come in handy whenever going outdoors. I also like the design and easy-to-read digital face. It seems to also have incredible specs: mineral glass, 200m water resistence. Thanks for the informative review!
You are very welcome and a great choice of watch may I add. It is a very good looking watch and the display is big and easy to read so hopefully it will help you with your jogging and if you ever get lost you always have that digital compass to rely on! Cheers, Tony - WTA
I learned how to properly calibrate my compass and checked it against my compass app and an actual compass and now it reads just right, not sure about the thermometer tho.
It would be nice if the thermometer could be more quicker to read than waiting 20/30 min for an accurate reading but for the price i think is a good value
Looks like the E and W are flipped in the outer bezel, in regards to where the digital arrow is pointing. Making the bezel marking basically useless. Usually, in a traditional magnetic compass, the E and W are interchanged to allow accurate reading as the compass needle runs around.
I've owned this watch for about 6 years or so. I never take it off, it's an absolute work horse. BUT it does have some drawbacks. For starters the band is garbage, it will crack and fall off after 2 years. I went through 2 of those crappy rubber/plastic bands then switched to a nylon canvas type. My comp. button stopped working a few years ago. Maybe it needs a service, who knows. For a $40 everyday beater watch it's virtually unbreakable. It's a great watch for a teenager or anyone who's very active.
It is very hard for me to say as I don't really have anything to hand to compare it next to that I can say is calibrated and accurate. It may be worth going on a few Casio forums and asking there to see if anyone can help you with your query. Sorry I can't be of any further help. Cheers, Tony - WTA
It is hard for me to say as I only have the Casio SGW-100. Looks wise I do prefer the Casio SGW-100 if that is any help but I am sure that the Casio SGW-300 is a better model in terms of functions. I have added links to the instructions below so you can compare the two watches functions side by side and see which one is better for you. The only Watch I found that has a Auto Repeat Timer , Snooze Alarm and Full World Time at once. ( Forget the compass and the Thermometer for the time being) If anyone can send a model number of any Casio which has all three features in one module for the similar price bracket highly valuable ❤
Case thickness is 30mm? You sure about that? & 200mm of water resistance. Lol . Casio also says in the documentation that you have to remove the watch for at least 5 minutes to get an accurate temperature reading. Still love the video though and gave it a like
Ha ha I am such a tool, just re-measured it and it is 13mm and not 30mm - that would be some watch if it was 30mm thick! Cheers for highlighting my errors and pointing out about how to obtain an accurate temperature. Thank you for the like as well!!!! Cheers, Tony - WTA
A little constructive criticism for what it's worth, maybe don't constantly flip the watches around in your videos. It's a bit off-putting after a while if the viewer is trying to actually look at the watch. Also, 20 minute close ups of your finger tips is a bit distracting. Perhaps mix in some light box shots or similar. That said your videos do provide a good deal of useful information for anyone considering buying a particular watch.
I totally agree with everything you have written and thank you for taking the time to write it. I am starting to look at better ways of presenting what I am saying and yes I must admit my fingers do tend to feature a lot in these videos so I will try and get more product shots incorporated into the video. Again thank you for your constructive criticism and I will definitely bear it in mind for up and coming videos. Cheers, Tony - WTA

I bought mine 2 years ago wore it a few times then shelved it for awhile and I’m wearing it again realizing I didn’t give it enough love

I bought one at 2012 and still work perfectly right for me
One of my daily casio's, bought it 5 or 6 years ago, still looks like new, still love it!
He went from saying the compass is dead on, to it ain’t worth a fuck, twice. It’s a killer back up compass, it could save your ass in a situation.
I have one and love it; came here to learn how to get the most from it. Thank you for great video.
I've got the 2500 and 340 the 3 and 4 sensor watches, but this one seems cool for a two sensor...all you probably need out in the wild. Great video
13 years and mine still works great!
11 years for me and the battery has just died.
13 also, the original battery lasted 10 years or so, the weird part that the replacement battery didn't work as good even from good brands like Varta or Duracell

God bless you man!
How do you get it to light the backlit display? Mine is constantly on the dark dial.
I love my SGW 100 . Bought it in 2013 . It's kinda cheap version of G-Shock+ Pro Trek
I learned how to properly calibrate my compass and checked it against my compass app and an actual compass and now it reads just right, not sure about the thermometer tho.

i just had to change my battery after 6 years of owning my sgw100b od green still amazing watch easy to use
It is a great watch and looks fantastic on the wrist and 6 years battery life just adds to how incredible these Casio watches are!

Nice watch . I use since 2016 to till now .
The Casio SGW-100 is certainly a looker and great to read that the one you have is still going strong!
Cheers,

Is this as good as prg?

Good watch, great display but lousy stopwatch and backlight (both are way too short).
i brought since 2011

Compas 10:20
My light stopped working after I replaced the battery. 😢😮
I bought mine in 2015, replaced the batt last year.
Bought mine in 2011 and the battery has just died but I only use it for time keeping -ie: minimal compass, stopwatch, alarm use.
How accurate is thermometer? I want to buy this watch because of that, but if it is not accurate its not use for me...

Go for Ae-1200WH
@@mukhlisshark845 I am buying one soon but that doesn't have Auto Repeat Timer and snooze alarm but it's legendary iconic

14 YEARS and counting... still new... i replaced already the bracelet ....
Hold the darn watch STILL! And keep the reflected glare off. This would make a MUCH better video!
I cannot watch this jumble. Jerking around like a carnival ride! I stopped @ 3:15.
C00l😀😀😀😀
