Absolutely loved this video! Helped out alot for questions I had as I will be fabbing up a shock relocation kit of my own and was looking at combining it with the exact same shock setup you are rocking! Appreciate the work you put into this video! New sub.
Glad you enjoyed it!l and glad I could get some questioned answered for you! I have a new video going up in the next week or two pairing their Hammer Hangers with the set up and learned A LOT about how our trucks geometry works in the rear
@@desertdime I will for sure be checking it out! Been enjoying the evening, kicked back and watching your vids non stop! Keep up the work and fun vids man!
That’s so awesome! Can’t wait for vids sending the truck and how it handles! Taking my truck in tomorrow for dirt king rear long travel, this week is gona go slow 😂
I’m About to order my relocation and hangers from archieve garage ✌️ , whats your wheel offset ? Curious with my 0 offset with 285/75r17 will clear the shaft .
So this is still the ultimate mid travel build right? I have a 3rd gen i was thinking about doing the hammer hangers and the shock relocations. But what leaf setup to run i dont want the truck much higher than stock wana stick to 33s its my daily
I’m still messing around with the leaf spring set up. If you’re looking for height, the u402 is probably your best bet. I’m also looking at the new leaf’s Archive just listed on their website
the shock mount being drilled through the bed seems like it would be an issue. all those forced would eventually make its way up to the plastic. and crack it
Interesting assessment! I’d hope that the metal plate on the top side of the wheel arches would help alleviate the stress to the bed. I could definitely see that happening if it was just bolted straight to the bed with no plate. Either way it has to be bolted up top or else it would wobble and crack the welds whenever the shock moves.
The fiberglass beds are super tough, and 7 years in with this kit, no issues at all. Bolting to the bed is really only to keep the frame rails from rolling inboard somewhat, there's tiny stock cross member at that spot in frame
I can second this kit is worth it. I got extra clearance, awesome droop, and unbelievable off road performance. I went with 12” shock, as the 14” results in a lower mount point welded to the rear axle. Worth every penny. ORW in Vegas did mine. Great work
That would leave you 2 inches of down travel. So basically you loose traction with 2 inches of rear tire drop. 14s with a lower, lower shock mount would work so much better. But maybe you like you shocks to be your limiting straps. I'm sure you have your reasons for doing this.
They’re not sitting at 10 inches of showing 😂 all full droop there’s 10 inches showing. Not all 12 can be used due to the stock shackle/hanger set up. Once that’s swapped out it will be able to utilize more

DUDE THAT'S SO RAD! It's gonna look so good! DM me some pictures of it when it's finished.
@@desertdime for sure dude I’ll hit you up on the insta 🤘🏽

I’m on 0 offset and running 1.25” Spacers I believe. On the kit product page it tells you what spacer to run for what wheel spec

Thanks Jacob!
Where is KDM Fabrication located at?? How much do they charge for labor??
They’re located in Anaheim, Ca. I’d hit up the owner (Gary) for a quote.

How much did they charge you? Looking to doing this set up and curious about the price.

Anaheim is about 20min from me
So I’ll consider KDM for a future project on my Tacoma
@@desertdimehow much was it for a install like theyn
That*
Yo trail penny! I need that 3rd brake light on that white cat eye. Who do I contact
It looks like an evil manufacturing 3rd brake light. Peep their website
@@desertdime thanks. Wasnt sure if it was a product your boys you was at made
The right way is to get the correct wheel backspace. Running wheel spacers are dangerous.
So a 12 inch shock with 10 inches of shock shaft showing. Yeah that'll work🙄
Why would it not?

@@desertdime Yeah when you get the Hammer Hangers and 3.6" shackles (w/ poly bushings) in there, the Deaver springs should allow 12".
Thats 10 inches of shock shaft showing at full droop, meaning the suspension is maxed out but the shock is not.
