Growing up, having huge tatas meant I was constantly being subjected to peoples’ expectations simply based on the size of my chest. It wasn’t something I could hide, and it only exaggerated my status as a fem in male dominated spaces. The specific expectations would changed, but they were always part of the conversation. People would and still joke that I always leave a ‘huge’ impression, which undermined my sense of value beyond sex. Most of the time the assumption was I was dumb, sexual, and under qualified.
I called it ‘Boobism’ growing up because it was a form of sexism, but also a state of being: I only could have peace by accepting my body and recognizing it didn’t define me. I know many wouldn’t consider breast size an indelible characteristic, given plastic surgery, but for young woman, and many woman without means, that’s what it is, indelible. I didn’t choose the girls, but they dictated so much of how people viewed me. Sad to see some things never change.

As a blonde white woman with big tiddies I have never been shamed out of existence by "woke" media lol. I don't actually feel at all good about the objectified way people with similar body type are depicted in "not-"woke"" media. It in fact makes me feel less gawked at and less "shamed out of existence" when big tiddies are depicted as like one of many type of bodies and not focused on excessively. Like said in the video, it's the conservative people who have thorough my life made me felt self-conscious wearing revealing or too form fitting clothing. And also the weirdos (usually also regressive in their ideas about gender) who feel entitled to touch me and comment on my body because they see big boobs as inherently sexual regardless of context. More body diversity in media is obviously positive in a much broader way, but not having my body type over-represented is also personally good for me because I don't feel I'm being too much on display. Also I'm sapphic and I think many types of boobs are hot and deserve their place in the spotlight.

The real thrust of the argument is that we as a society should do more to accept non-traditional demonstrations of black masculinity. I don't think that the original tweet was saying that big boobs are "anti-woke", I think that they were saying that "wokeness is dead" because SNL had a young, conventionally attractive, blonde white woman on center stage, face right in the camera, laughing and giggling, and that her top just so happened to be low cut. I think that if Sydney Sweeny's top had a higher neckline, they probably would've said the same thing. It comes from the thought that anything that isn't white, cisgender, heterosexual, able-bodied, and, at times, male, is "woke" or "political". The caviat that they must be male is situational, i.e., a video game lead can tick all those boxes except for male, and people will complain about "forced diversity" and "get these politics out my game!", but I digress. The original tweet is applauding SNL for centering a woman who perfectly fits a euro-centric, heteronormative status quo. Let's say they had Chloe Bailey, an attractive young black woman at center stage, giggling at the camera, wearing a low cut top, and they would've complained about how woke it is, just because she's black. Or they could've had Hunter Schaffer, and they'd complain it's woke cause she's trans. You picking up what I'm putting down?

White, blonde hair, blue eyes, attractive, BONUS BIG BOOBS😂😂) but the responses to the tweet fs shocked me, cuz I was thinking, I saw Meg the stallion with her boobs out on snl some months ago and I ain’t hear nothing about her bazoongas😂but this situation definitely has to do with anything being “anti-woke”. Anything without diversity or LGBTQ+-ified is good enough for them. Even though people of all political stances, enjoy looking at beautiful women and boobs😭man, women, or in between

The problem with this line of thought, is of course that without progressive people we as humanity would still be living no better than animals.
So they end up wishing to push a pause button on progress, without ever considering that they should thank progressives for pretty much everything they have around them.

I went through puberty very early and had to deal with big boobs as a child, which gave me a very odd perspective on the whole thing. I had grown men complimenting my body when I was only 12 or 13, and on the opposite side of the spectrum, I had people telling me I needed to dress more conservatively because V neck style shirts were in style at the time but a minimal V neck still gave me "too much cleavage" according to some. Boys my age made fun of me for having boobs, and girls my age weren't any better as I was called whore/slut/tramp due to my body. A woman who was a family friend once told me I only had the option of working at Hooters when I was 14. Also, my dad thought it was peak humor to tell me my bra looked like it was big enough to be sails on a boat. All this to say, I grew up with quite a complex about my chest as I was ashamed of it and hated it.
Honestly, I could write a lot more about this, but I won't go into an essay about trendy body types and how it affected me. I just find it funny that despite larger breasts always having been sexualized heavily, there's still a lot of push back toward women and their bodies even if their bodies are seen as being sexually attractive.

There are plenty communities where most boob-based discussions are about "woke" people wanting to censor/remove boobs from content (in video games for example, boob censorship usually comes from so called "woke" people) . Someone who spends way too much time in these communities will likely see exposed boobs as anti-woke, because in their limited experience, it is.

Pretty much. There's been a push to decrease the size of women's breasts in games because they are considered "unrealistic body types" according to consultants and some games journalists. The problem is this isn't true because we can see women in real life who have these same features and it raises the question as to why women suddenly are considered bad characters for having a big chest when this goes against sex positivity and body positivity. I would also argue that the people who are saying it's anti-woke aren't necessarily conservative. The political spectrum is diverse, and not everything fits the Conservative vs. Progressive binary. There are still conservatives who hate scantily clad women in gaming because it isn't modest, so it's like two sides making the same arguments for different reasons. Both say it's perverted objectification, but one says it's because of misogyny, while the other says it's ungodly.

That kind of field of tension between “as a strong independent woman you should not use your body to reach certain goals like you previously might have had to do under more opressive patriarchy due to having no other options” to “as a strong independent woman you should be able to present your body and do with it whatever you feel good and confident about and not be swayed by what other people read into it”. I know those ideas are not mutually exclusive but they are often made out to be.
I think that speaks more to the strong opinions that surround the display of femininity and the feminine body in general. What a confusing and complex world.

The more I learn about the history of and flux in attitudes about women's bodies, the more conflicted I feel as I recognise how those influences have affected what I find most attractive.
Been reading Butts: A Backstory by Heather Radke recently and I'm pausing almost every page to highlight a quote and let it sink in.

It's funny to list Angelina Jolie and use a picture of her as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. They actually had her wear padding for that role to bring her closer to the cup size of the character in the games.

Scratch that, I love this whole video. Fiq often makes points that I'd like to make but he's far more cohesive. This one though, I've never laughed so hard at an informative video. The take that boobs are in any way conservative is just incredibly silly... Good on hom for being able to do this. This is truly hilarious.

Honestly at this point it just seems luke Conservative thinking is just , What do we think liberals and/or leftys on general like and our position will be the opposite even if it conflicts with our other beliefs

I think that "do the opposite of what [whatever group] likes/stands for, just to piss them off" is some people's whole personality type haha. Usually these people fall on the more extreme sides of the political compass

part of why they think Sydney Sweeney is anti-woke is because a guest at her mother's 60th birthday party is in a picture with her wearing a red MAGA-inspired hat, the hat read "Make Sixty Great Again." but it really looks like a maga hat in the pictures. So now they think she is anti-woke

As a fellow day 1 Monae fan, I am absolutely at a loss when it comes to the criticisms of their body.
There are folks out here who really think that the shift from tuxoedos to topless was sudden.....but they just haven't been paying attention.
You can see the shift as early as The Electric Lady with lines like "And is it weird to like the way she wear her tights" in QUEEN and "Yeah she was lookin' at me for some undercover love" in Given' Em What They Love. And then the more obvious shift was with Yoga that was all about butt stuff.
This shift has been happening gradually since 2013.
