@@elmaxlifedid you tried in VR yourself? With the same PC you have to lower the settings that much that it is nearly the same like msfs 2020. Its a shame what Asobo delivered. To get the results like in the video here you have to invest heavily.
@@uberdenwolken4564 I did not no, but there is nothing unusual for the performance to me. VR performance is hard due to high resolution. For PCL we are already talking in 16M+ pixels which is similar as if you were playing a game in 6K resolution(nearly) even though you may need to reduce the settings, the lighting stays spectacular and much better than 2020. There is no secret for better VR performance : - Better PC (RTX 5000 GPU series will be big leap forward) - Dynamic Foveated Rendering or Fixed - Reducing rendered resolution - Using Upscaling methods like DLSS - Reducing game settings It's obvious on the paper that even a RTX 4090 may struggle with high ends headsets for high FPS, VR headsets over 2880x2880 resolution per eye are a better fit for the next NVIDIA GPU gen if you want to enjoy at the same time good resolution and graphics, that's the way it is, expensive tech for now with compromises.

You don’t own physical games anymore either. Even the new physical media disc has to connect to the internet to finish downloading the game. The good ole days ow actual physical games ownership are over.

Why does everything have a dull green hint to it? All the buildings look green? Also the textures look like google satellite view, I was expecting far higher quality rendering based on what Microsoft said pre release.
Imagine spending $2000 on a 4090 and $3500 on an Apple vision and getting 20fps. Motion reprojection needs at least have 36 or 40 depending on whether you're running at 72hz or 80hz. The VR is absolutely broken right now. It's going to be at least 6 months until they tackle some of the bugs and VR will be at the bottom of the priority list in terms of QA. Any chance you can do a video on how to set up the Quest 3 in msfs 2024? In msfs 2020 when you press the b button on the right controller it would bring up the tool bar with atc, camera, map, settings and so forth. That doesn't work for me on msfs 2024, I usually have the windows open for ATC, Navlog and map but I don't know how to access it in the new sim even that new EFP window to display in VR???

Wow, what a difference. My PG around NY looks terrible. Blocky trees, trees oversized coming out of various buildings, apocalypse looking buildings and ground textures. I have an i9-9900K, 32Gb, 3090, HP G2, FS24 set to TAA and mostly Ultra and no addons. Looks terrible in every city around the world. Maybe my router isn't up to the task? Works perfect for 2020 though.
As I said in the video the first flight through was awful, everything looked extra blocky, then flying over again it got better 😅 I guess it was buffering like a video lol
Hopefully this helps someone....it was unplayable for me, but then I turned off the Live Air Traffic in Flight Conditions and also set the Dynamic VR setting to on and to 30 fps. Now I'm flying around Philadelphia currently at a steady 35 fps. Sucks to not have the Live traffic for now, but until the servers settle down, it may help everyone to turn it off.
I tried VR in my Quest 3, it's was a ropey experience. UI elements were not great and things broke easily. Server performance is terrible at the moment, so stuff isn't streaming in correctly if at all. It's a bit of a mess to be honest. However on the odd occasion I've got everything appearing to work, the experience is absolutely incredible, the lighting, clouds and terrain beautiful to behold.
Is the performance any better than FS2020? I've got a 4070 Ti, and with some tweaks I could getting it running at about 45-50 fps, but most graphics settings needed to be on medium or lower settings. I've got gigabit internet, so I'm hoping that makes things a little easier on my PC.

As great as FS2020 ended up being after years of bug fixes and necessary improvements, just imagine how great it could've been, and how great FS2024 could be with a competent developer.
Yeah it's amazing... WHEN IT WORKS. Launching this is an exercise in madness. There's no rhyme or reason to when it will actually go into VR mode correctly. Only game I've ever had an issue with.
Not sure if it's my internet speed but VR for me is absolutely awful. Pixelated, textures aren't loading all the way. Blurry gauges. 1440p flat panel on ultra looks really beautiful but my Quest 3 is a disaster. Anyone else have this issue? I'm running a 4080 Super, i9-14900k, 80 gb DDR4 RAM.

This would be a nice moment for MS to announce Gamepass VR streaming direct to HMD, given a good enough internet connection. P.S. Great flying - you really did the game tech justice as a demonstration, nice one
They will do Cloud based VR using AV1 encoding, so no XBX required and it won't be powerful enough anyway to do encoding and decoding at that resolution
@@jimj2683 The Walking Dead: Saint and Sinners did that incredible. When you are moving it darkens the edges of the screen to close off your peripheral vision. You only see what's in front of you. I don't know why it does work but it is one of the only games where I don't get motion sickness while moving. More games should add that I think.
The tonality of this recording looked way off. No blacks, very flat and blue/green cast. Also when you record VR, try to do calm head movements, the video is not for you.

unfortunatelly it's not, the nighttime is a disaster, they changed the lighting system and everything in the cockpit glare as neon, the performance is crap compared to 2020
@@Tyrielwood It's a bit of a mess atm, many players can't even get past the loading screen. Others can get in, but experiences vary even there. I finally got past the loading screen, then got stuck on character/avatar creation. Managed to get past avatar creation now, but can't load into any actual flights. It'll be a few days before everything settles down if not longer.
@@Tyrielwood After selecting a plane and a flight or activity, I just get a loading circle in the bottom right continually. It doesn't hang or lockup, just won't do anything. It's a known issue with the servers being overloaded atm.
The one good thing I can say is, I’ve worked on Microsoft products for 30 years. Every one is garbage upon release. They use their customers as their quality control team. Always been a shit company. But hey, Bill Gates founded it. What do we expect 🤷♂️ But should get better, once they start working on all of our complaints.

Msfs 2024 is really beautiful and textures are super realistic! But performance in VR still sucks …. No improvement from 2020.
VR is pretty buggy compared to 2020. Performance worse with DX12. Lower frame rates. Intermittent operable controls. Flight Planning app awful.
