Are you able to use lights on the garland if you have to mist it? Should I use outdoor lights? Love how simple yet beautiful you garland is. Thank you for a great tutorial!
This might be dumb question but do you have to do anything to the branches when bring then in? Like do you recommend washing them or spraying them with something for the bugs that might be on them. Also how long does it stay looking good?
I don’t worry about it ! Haven’t had any crazy bug situation - if you mist it with water every couple days or use a hydration spray like Finishing Touch it’ll help it last longer - but I’ve gotten 3 weeks out of mine in past !
@@youfloraldiyflowershi do you have any problems with bugs coming in after? I just cut some off of my tree and bushes spur of the moment, I did wash them and sprayed them with bugs spray 😅 but I’m still scared of bugs
@@emb433 ugh I hear your struggle! Good quality faux flowers are often more expensive than real ones!!! Dollar store ones are affordable, but they don't look very realistic
The way I’m showing it is doing it with no “foundation string” and it can fall apart if you hang it (the technique I show in this video works great if you’re putting the garland on a mantle or table) If you want to hang it, just use a piece of twine or rope and incorporate it into garland, essentially wiring the greenery to it (same technique as shown in the video but with rope or twine added) and it makes it super sturdy -hope that makes sense ? Let me know if not !
Hmmmm my wholesalers sell by growers bunch (which is weighted), but it actually doesn’t say the weight on the bunches. To make a wreath I need 2 growers bunches. To make a garland I would use 4 growers bunches to make a 8 foot long garland…. But it depends how heavy your wholesalers growers bunches are. Here I find it doesn’t matter what wholesaler I get from, the size of cedar/fir bunches are the same size Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!
THIS is just what I needed to watch to make my first natural garland💕 thank you!!!
Yay! Glad it was helpful!
Great tutorial! Thank you! This is the video I needed to see so I can make my first natural garland for my mantels.

Love the video my question is where can get the Artificial cedar greenery at? I don't want live fresh cedar.
Hobby Lobby/Canadian Tire/Michaels … I would try those places !
How long will a cedar garland last inside?
It'll extend the lifespan if you mist it frequently (just with water) - I usually have mine inside for about a month!
Are you able to use lights on the garland if you have to mist it? Should I use outdoor lights? Love how simple yet beautiful you garland is. Thank you for a great tutorial!
I would be cautious getting lights wet - outdoor ones that are created to withstand water would be a better choice!
Where can I buy the cedar to make this ? Great video.
Thanks ! A gardening store would probably have it
Sooo can natural from my garden be used?
@@esenciasdeluna83 yes for sure :) You can use the same technique and use other products too, like silver dollar eucalyptus
@@esenciasdeluna83 yes, I have a neighbor who does it every year

I soak my greenery in a tub for twenty for hours then lay it out to dry for an hour before making my garland.
What kind of wire to you use to wrap if
I use 24 gauge florist wire
Do you wash or clean the cedar after getting it from outside?
I don't! It would be a lot of work to do that!
@@youfloraldiyflowershi do you have any problems with bugs coming in after? I just cut some off of my tree and bushes spur of the moment, I did wash them and sprayed them with bugs spray 😅 but I’m still scared of bugs
I bought a ton of garland but I’m not sure what to cut it with lol
Pruners!
What can you do to rid the branches of bugs, before you put it on the table as a garland? Ty
I have never had a problem with bugs being in the cedar! You could give it a good shake outside to dislodge any potential bugs
Wash it down and let it dry.
Is this actually a thing? I've never experienced bugs, but the branch should do the trick.
Can u plz make a tutorial on how to make a faux cedar garland
You could use the same technique with faux cedar
@@youfloraldiyflowers y is good faux cedar so hard to find nd its so expensive 😫

How long can this last outside? I am thinking of making a wreath
I've left a wreath outside for 3 months and it was good for that whole time!
I’m having trouble keeping each bundle from unrolling when I hang it. Any tips?

@@youfloraldiyflowers thank you!
Can u use this inside??
Yes for sure !
If u use inside I would mist with water every day to keep it hydrated
Where do you purchase the real branches?
From my wholesaler, you could try your local garden store !
How much did it cost to make this?
Depends if you buy the cedar or can harvest it yourself.
If you buy it, I would say a $10 bundle would do about 8 feet of garland
@@youfloraldiyflowers thank you! I love the tutorial. Very pretty 😍
That's cedar????
Yup!
It really doesn't look like cedar does it
Alabama cedar does not look like that! That is really pretty!
“Stay-gar” it.
No hunny for garland you use the limbs that you cut up then you stack an wrap
There's no 1 right way hunny
