    Coming through Port Huron / Sarnia to camp in Ontario I would suggest keeping to the shores of lake Huron or Erie, there are some fantastic provincial parks along both and you wont have to go through Toronto or deal with the traffic. Second tip would be to head north of Toronto and staring from down there you'll be able to skip Toronto traffic as well by going around it.

    And by the way , with the exchange rate when we go to the states, gas is considerably more for us with the exchange rate to other way unfortunately. We will be traveling down the coast this winter and will be taking our time to save on gas but also to see more and stop more.

    price of gas in Canada versus USA in a quck calculation gas in Canada is more expensive but only by roughly 16 cents per gallon (3,785 litres) then factor in a cost advantage of 25% or often more it becomes less expensive for US dollars...just saying

    Glad to see you came across the border to do some traveling around here. But I don’t understand the comments regarding the Canadian gallon (imperial) as it is no longer of any significance to us up here or to those in the Stares. Simple math, basically one U.S gallon is about 3.8 litres. Or for quick easy calculation just multiply the price per litre x 4 and your pretty close to what it costs you for a gallon. Close enough when your only filling up a tank or less.
    Btw, anyone crossing into Canada should carry a few bucks in Canadian. You never know when you are going to encounter a shop that will only take cash and will not give you the proper or fair exchange rate or even accept the greenback.I know for a fact I have had this happen when I enter into the states and I know of some shops here that will take your u.s dollar only at par.

    Nice to see a channel broadcasting from the northeast! So many You Tubers it seems, have been stuck in the dessert for months. Certainly beautiful in its own right but just can't hold a candle to the the lush green foliage and sparkling water of the Great Lakes region....enjoy! 🌳🌸🌲🌻🐟
    I used to work for a Toronto based company....traveling over the Lewiston Queenston bridge from western NY frequently. I feel your pain with a commute on the 401.
    The 'Advantage' or 'Revolution' drops placed on the back of the dog's neck do a WONDERFUL job of taking care of tick or flea issues. 🐕

    Hey Mike. Welcome to Canada. I thought I would point out one thing about the difference in fuel costs you mention in the video. In Canada our gallons are Imperial gallons, not US gallons, which are quite a bit larger. US gallons are only 83.3% of an Imperial gallon. So doing the math the cost per US gallon when you filled up in the video was $3.39 and the currency exchange rate when you entered Canada was probably around 1.26. and the cost per litre in Canada when you filled up was $1.23 and there is 4.55 litres per Imperial gallon. So for $25.00 American ($31.50 Canadian) you could buy 25.60 litres of gas. With $25 American you can buy 7.37 US gallons, which equals 6.14 Imperial gallons, which equals 27.95 litres. So you're still paying a little more, but the difference is $2.35 Canadian or $1.86 American on a $25.00 US gas purchase, which means your gas expenses are about 7.4% more expensive when traveling in Canada. But you're really going to enjoy the savings due to the exchange rate when shopping, dining out, paying for entrance fees, or any other activities you partake in while in Canada. Love your videos and podcasts, and always look forward to new ones.

    It is so busy and so bad - pretty much all day every day that it even capable of annoying veterans of Los Angeles traffic who think they are experienced with heavy traffic!!!!!

    We live an hour north of Toronto in Barrie. We love Presquile. Those sites along the water are amazing! Next time use the 407. It’s not cheap but you get off the 401 in Halton Hills and don’t get back on till Pickering saving you almost 100 km of traffic. I commuted to Toronto for 30 years so anything to avoid that traffic is worth it to us. It’s a nice drive compared to the 401.

    I always travel with the dog(s) in a soft crate. Safer for all involved. Especially since we have added a 5 month old puppy. We try to avoid crossing through Toronto. We usually take secondary roads north of the city. often looping by Waterloo (which you know well). We DO need to try that park. We just returned home from Prince Edward County which is just a hair east of your stop. Needless to say they too are suffering from high water as is your Quebec destination.

    If you get a chance pop onto St Joseph island east of SSmarie , there are not many campgrounds but it's like going back in time 40 years. Peaceful, not touristy at all , all most all the residents commute off the island to SS marie for jobs so generally you have that island to your self and it's 40 miles around. (only gas is in kentvale or just off the Hwy 17 turn off to the island).

    Crossing into Canada a few years back they sent us to secondary and give us the twice over. They searched my truck from top to bottom, and they had us go inside and sit with a custom’s officer and answer is odd questions. We took it in stride, everything was in order, and we appreciated the break because we’d been traveling all day.

When camping several of us slept in tents so my grandfather would put him on a long chain clipped to the bumper of the camper at night and always told us if a bear came around our job was to forget the dog and get in the van, we could get another dog. LOL I don't think the sticky rollers would work very well for ticks. LOL. They don't stay on top of the hair but they dig deep into the skin about 2 inches lower than what your rollers would even be close too. You need to put some Frontline (or similar product) on the dog every month to keep ticks off. You guys are just silly.

    • @RVLifestyle
      @RVLifestyle  5 лет назад +1

      It gets the ticks right after a walk before they burrow in. We "roll him" right after we return to camp from a walk. Bo is on tick meds, and it worlds well. But loose ticks on his coat can be carried in the RV and that is never a good thing and that's what the lint rollers do an excellent job of catching.

    • @ericvaneck4296
      @ericvaneck4296 5 лет назад

      With all that hair the ticks would be gone in no time. You guys run a better chance of bring in ticks into the RV but it would at least give you peace of mind.
