Got home at 630, watched your video and had the adjustment done by 645. Thanks so much for all of FJR videos. They have been a big help with my FJR.

Bryan, i took the slack out of the throttle cable on 2007 FJR1300AE and I can believe how much better my shifting is now. Before I made the adjustment my transitions from braking to throttle entering a corner were more than a little jerky. I put it down to the YCC (Yamaha Computerized Clutch). I was so wrong. Now those transitions are smooth as butter. Thanks so much for your most informative videos.

Thank you good sir. I just picked up a 2020 BMW with some horrid slack in the throttle out the door brand new. Had to be half an inch slack fixed it quick with your video.

I go off road sometimes and it’s horrible to have any slack in the throttle. Just wanted to confirm I was adjusting the right thing…thanks. A good way to check if u left yourself enough slack is to just put the bike in neutral and turn to the extremes. If it revs u obviously need to add more slack.

I came looking for how to do the non-basic on the throttle body. There was far too much slack in my new heated grips/cables.

Thanks you so much brother i just purchased. 2008 Yamaha FZ1 6k miles that sat in a garage for over 2 years the slack is crazy. I was wondering how because i have owned bikes in the past and they were all the same i was looking for conformation and i got it from you.GOD Bless you.

My turn buckle in the cable is super tight and I can’t rotate either way. Am I ok to spray WD40 on it to loosen the buckle up?

There are NO turnbuckles on my 2018 Honda Grom throttle cables, so how/where to remove excess throttle play?
    Thank you!

Interesting; I been having issues with my throttle giving input when braking and I adjusted lever (still trying to find that sweet spot) and played it’s part of me crashing few days ago (too much brake too) but seeing this video, it makes sense now so I will have to go little more slack on throttle input (not huge amount though)

EXACTLY what I needed to see because I've noticed the slack in my 2008 FJR throttle to be approaching levels where in corners I've got the throttle on my mind more than the corner. Will be making the adjustments this evening. As always - THANKS, BRYAN!

If there are TWO cables from the throttle, adjust both of them? I adjusted one of them and the throttle slack is corrected but does the other cable also need adjusted?

I adjusted mine on my RSV4 yesterday.I had about .5mm so for me there wasn’t enough. This is dangerous also as during braking with the front lever there would be the possibility for the throttle grip to twist.....not what you want when decelerating.

So this is the reason why, say for instance: im on my sv-650 2018 and try to overtake someone, I get a little lag when I push on the throttle?

Not always you could have fuelling issues or another underlying problem

I’m assuming that if you’ve no more adjusting thread left on the grip side of the cable, it’s time for a new cable?! Or is there an adjustment point on the sensor side down under the tank. Yamaha Super Tenere.

My issue isn’t the slack as mine was ok from the start but the snappy return spring for the throttle cables. I feel the spring is too strong on the MT09 wondering if there is a softer replacement. It is tiresome to hold a constant throttle with such resistance from that spring. There are people on the FZ forum who drilled some holes on the spring stop to reduce the snap but I don’t think that that is the best solution. Have you got any views on that?

Never under the tank? Wrong. My motorcycle doesn't have a turnbuckle. And if your turnbuckle is out of adjustment space, you go down under the tank.
