dont care about the dancer but the music is haunting
i'm performing this piece coming up on june 24th at the utah arts festival in salt lake city, utah. i've been researching this number and arranging for my group. i learned it from the painted veil soundtrack. a very poignant movie. i recommend it. Lang Lang performs.
Alour, my mother passed away Dec. 29th, 2016, six months ago coming up, breast cancer, ever sense this piece makes me think of her. not sure why. I read Satie originally scripted "Lent et douloureux" on the score. slow and mournful. yes, it brings those emotions out, truly.
my wife is a dancer, and watching and listening to this version made me very emotional to near tears several times. thank you! i think it has inspired me to invite her to dance on this one at the festival. beautifully done, and patiently minimal. cheers and God Bless

That Bansuri is in F (basic scale is a lydian scale), and the song is in F Minor

as a rule, I hate when musicians interpret Satie. esp the Gnossienne('s). Satie's compositions (are so well written that they) don't need the various inflection people try to add to his pieces. ...this performance however is brilliant.

Modern dance 💃 may look like just any crazy person moving around an insane asylum, but it's actually hard to do - don't be fooled.

Her dance clearly reflected the music and I found it to be evocative and an assist to this performance. This was a beautiful moment to experience in the midst of Covid-19. I applaud all those who worked to share this with us. Thank you so much.

@@vnm_8945 it's clear that the dancer is into an improvisation. So, the dance figures have no coordination with the music. So, the dancer has nothing to do with the music. It's even clear that the dancer doesn't know the gymnopedie.
