From a sound guy - that sounds awesome man 👍 well done. Nice sounding mic, I'll have to try the sm86. Used beta 87's, 58's etc etc etc many times but never a sm86. Kudos
Thank you very much! I really appreciate your advise, I think I'll go for the SM 86 being budget conscious ha ha...but I really love the sound of the 87a! maybe i will get this if I reached your singing ability! Cheers!! Keep Rockin!!May God bless you always!!!
sm86 is great mic at outdoors, but sometimes that good response causes easilly feedback which may be problem in like karaoke if you don't know how to handle mic. But properly used I use it for dj work and when I sing. I absolutely love the tone, great for male voice.
Hi Vandoei, I do prefer condenser mics or the best dynamic mics to my ears are the Shure Beta 57a or the Sontronics STC 80. Bothe the shure beta 87a and the 86 are very good , the more expensive 87a is a touch smoother but the 86 is similar but has a slight edgy sound, they both have there strengths , I use both the last couple of days I have been using the 87a. Another good mic considering is the AKG C 535 its smaller but has a focused clear warm sound. Hope this helps Dave
Hey CoventGardenSinger which condenser mic do you prefer most? is it sm86 or beta 87a?im planning to buy a new one, i want to upgrade from a sm58, knowing that condenser mics are more responsive to subtle nuances of the voice?please advise...thanks!
I love the SM86. Such a crystal clear sound.
