I saw the Bateman police stop video and that enraged me so I was so glad to see all this brought to people’s attention. This vile and abusive cult needs stamping out and the perpetrators brought to justice. Any updates bringing this into the open is useful.

First time watching Annie! Really appreciated her deep dive. If she wants another warrior ex-FDLS mom then I hope she checks out Elizabeth Roundy. I have been fascinated by her willingness to give long-form interviews - being so transparent about her faults and fears. She a walking a tight-rope between speaking up & trying to play along enough to find her daughter. Her daughter is missing and I hope she is able to find her soon. She (and other ex-members missing children) are fighting a huge, organized group without many resources and it seems so scary.
Also, I don’t think Annie should be worried about labeling this a cult. It fits the definition. Personally, I feel like it’s more important to use that clear language once a cult has put in rules to limit current members from accessing knowledge or threaten their afterlife soul if they talk to specific people (which also is just controlling knowledge).
Lastly, I do think Annie might want dive into the mental impacts of such groups and have a bit more understanding (not necessarily compassion) for the adult women that were forced to grow up in the groups. I don’t think ignorance is an excuse! But I do think we have to understand it so we don’t just expect these women to do the right thing … that can’t be a via solution to end this stuff.

Checking out Elizabeth Roundy now. Thanks for suggestion! I know it was for Annie but just now have become aware of the seriousness of these polygamist groups (as FDLS is certainly not the only one). My heart hurts for all of them. My life has not been perfect but I’ve never been subjected to stuff like this and have always been able to live my own life. Gives me gratitude though I really wish I could help these guys.

What I don’t understand is why Texas government isn’t helping people find their kids. They have all the transcripts kept by Naomi Jeff’s . I know they keep moving members but it could give them a start and maybe follow a trail from there.

The first wife is the only legal marriage. All others are celestial marriages. Those wives get all social services…food stamps, Medicaid, etc.
Because he doesn't support them, they get public/social assistance or it's left to the mothers to take care of. It's that way in most of the fundamentalist Mormon cults.
They get church funding and also govt funding for being a church. Sick.

I hate the FLDS church so much. I live in utah and see flds families very often. when I see their children it makes me so sad. I just want to steal them away and have them live a much happier life.
Side note: you should look into the Mormon church as well. I grew up in it and it is most definitely a cult as well. Its not as bad as the flds, but there are things that go on behind closed doors that should never take place. Mormons are also brainwashed to believe many many different things that in reality are not just. I don't hate anyone from the mormon church itself but I hate the religion and I wish I never had to go through the things I went through while apart of that church in my youth.
I know and the Barlow's and the Allred's are my cousins sad they have to deal with men like Bateman, Warren Jeffs, Danial Kingston, and Kody Browne. While some stuff in the reality shows is made up their stories are true. My cousin Susan Peterson was murdered by the Kingstons Danial told Seth Peterson to murder his brothers James and Bryan and to murder his mother calling them processed this is the same horsecrap the Doomsday Cult teaches and Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell they use to be Kingstons but got excommunicated and they are still spreading Paul's lies. The Barlow Sisters we seen their escapes Martha was killed in an accident that was non bigamy related, Yolanda is a nurse and Rosie is going to the university down there and taking classes. Sam Bateman and the fourth daughter who called Yolanda and Rosie the S Word are in jail for kidnapping, bridenapping, and prostitution. And don't get me started on Kody Browne his family is falling apart all of his wives have left him and Kody won't come back to Utah to face justice. He still thinks Huntsmann and the LDS church are out to get him this is half true Yes Huntsmann said they should be shot like wild dogs but the LDS Church and the Utah Government never use blood atonement or capital punishment against cults as a sign of vengeance. We place them on trial in the federal court in downtown Salt Lake and let the FBI deal with them. The Kingstons and the FLDS are on the FBI's most wanted list and half their men are in jail as for the AUB they are on their radar but only their leader went to prison we don't target the AUB or the Centennials It is the Knight Clan, The Blades, and the Kingstons the FBI wants as for the FLDS they are finished only the bothers are left and the FBI is right now rounding them up.

I’m a little bit shocked to hear the last name Jessop in this video. (at 18:50) When I was a kid, my parents helped an entire family escape the FLDS cult. They were a recently widowed father and like two sons and a daughter. I think. Could have been more kids. Their last name was Jessop. That name was a bit of a surprise to hear in this video. Their mom was the one who was keeping them in the cult, whereas their dad was the only one who was willing to question how right this whole thing was in his family, so he got separated from his wife and children, per his wife’s request. This was during Warren Jeffs’ reign. The dad knew he’d have one chance to rescue his children, and that would be at his wife’s funeral, which was where the whole family would come together. He basically grabbed all the kids he could at the funeral, made them get in the back of his car, and promptly hightailed it across state borders to a safe house arranged by some friends of my family. Seriously screwed up.

No, her research was basic, at best. She mispronounced a ton of names, or got them entirely wrong. Her timeline is off and her commentary is really offensive to the victims who are still in the middle of this. She's treating this like salacious girl's gossip.

Anyone interested in learning even more about this story, I highly recommend the book “Under the Banner of Heaven” by Jon Krakauer. He’s a great author and did a very sensitive and accurate job with this book. He also wrote Into Thin Air about the Mr. Everest 1996 disaster,which he survived, and Into the Wild, which later became a well known movie.
UBH is good, but you will get more specifically about the FLDS from his friend Sam Brower's book, Prophet's Prey. Also some memoirs from survivors, The Witness Wore Red by Rebecca Wall who is featured earlier in the video, Stolen Innocence by her sister Ellissa Wall, Escape, and Triumph by Carolyn Jessop who was married to one of Warren's right hand men.

Like she said, there is an extremely different teaching between LDS and FLDS…. She is speaking on FLDS. Again, extremely different from LDS. LDS is your typical Mormon, who do not have multiple wives, wear regular clothes, have computers, phones, in your regular communities, go to your schools, all of those things. FLDS SPLIT from the LDS church because LDS did not believe in polygamy, but the FLDS are SICK, and that’s why their community is MUCH smaller than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the “traditional” LDS). FLDS are RARELY seen. EVER. They do not go to regular schools, they do not wear regular clothes, several opposing factors than that of LDS. Annie is literally telling us the extreme difference of FLDS.
Don’t compare LDS to FLDS the FLDS is an evil break off from the original Latter Day Saint church and we do not accept them whatsoever

As a believer in Jesus Christ, this report makes me physically ill. God will have vengeance on them on the day of Judgement. ALL of the crimes committed in his name will come to light. Thank you for this information. I believe that most all of the "churches" today are saturated with satanic influence. I ascribe to no "church" but only to the body of true believers and the relationship that I have with Jesus Christ who taught us to spiritually love others, not the carnal "love" that these "churches" (and society) teach. God help us all.
It's true, I wouldn't say most are "saturated" although some are. The Bible shows that there's those who peddle the word etc for profit, evil men. That's who these are. One day they'll have to account for it. A real relationship with Christ makes a man deplore things like this.
