I saw a different video where the voice to Call button or the Hang Up button on the steering wheel did not work after the install. They also could not change the background image. I hope this has been resolved by AuCar for this install. Please let me know.
I'd be very interested to see if all the cameras and the AC/heater functions still work properly... hoping so because this looks awesome!
Thanks for doing this video. I have been seeing the social media ads for this upgrade but was pretty hesitant about pulling the trigger. Now if they would only make an add-on mod to take the 8" and put it in the back of the center console for people in the back. Seems like a waste of an 8" display. Looking forward to the follow-up video on how all the factory equipment like the 360/tow cameras work.
Cool upgrade for sure. One thing I don't like are putting critical controls in the screen itself such as AC/Heat..

Yes. The Android at the top of the information throws you off but that is the operating system it is indicating. Interestingly the original head unit also uses a version of android although a chopped down version. Apple play is an app. My hope is that the OS plays well with multiple input sources, ie. Playing SiriusXM then taking a call on your wireless CarPlay yet connected to the units BT. Currently in my stock 2020 3500 Denali the factory BT interferes with CarPlay when listening to CarPlay. So I forgot device for Bluetooth on phone and simply use CarPlay to answer calls. No more issues. But would like to have all three sources playing nicely together.u

Hi Avid Fan of your site for a couple of years now- Anxiously waiting your review on this item, i have done many of your same upgrades as your AT4, mine is also 2021 AT4 5.3, on a side note not to be the bearer of bad news i was Hauling my 26 ft family travel trailer and had check engine light knocking- fortunatley not to far from dealership, yup- misfire # 8 cylinder- further investigation lifter collaspe- and i only have 3,643 miles on it , dealer only wanted replace bad bank side of lifters so i started GMC case and Rep.eventually agreed to both banks of lifters beacause my truck build date fails in that window of known issues-sept.2020 to feb. 2021 and my build date is 1/2021. long story short- both banks replaced and have additional parts component warranty on all replaced parts for additional 4 years, 60k miles past factory warranty . Keep up the reviews great channel TY :)

THANK YOU for this video -- nice presentation. Installation looks fairly straight forward. Will def be watching your next video with your real world thoughts! Your videos have been pivotal in my decisions to modify my AT4.
It will be interesting if there is any Quality between head units of the Music. The Factory Infotainment System is not really great, but livable. I have watched install vides from other Tesla units, the new owners had to go through numerous settings to find that "just right" sound. Steering wheel controls hopefully will work, we will see shortly. When it comes to looks of the New Head Unit, I give it a "10". I hope you report back on the Factory microphones working or not. Good job on the install.
From what I understand with my unit, factory microphones do not work. The unit has a microphone just below the left knob or you can add the one that they supply.
I really like the screens on the knobs of the climate control so I wish this still used them
Screen looks to be responsive and quick. Great video thanks considering one for my truck.
Man awesome Head unit I'm hoping to get one so I can do a more thorough review on the tech side of this unit. Being that it's android 13 with 8 gb of ram I'm sure we can maximize functionality by adding more cameras to vehicles that are not equipped with 360 cams and other neat tricks that I look forward to showcasing. Oh yes! I love it! Great tutorial as always, I was worried would it fit with a center console in the middle between both driver and passenger seats, because i seen another person have the same screen but he didnt have a center console and plus to all the photos I've seen with it installed didn't have a center console so i was worried would it fit, but i see now it does, I'm definitely getting one for my 2019 Silverado RST. I was debating on trading my truck in towards the newer Silverado's with the new interior with the big screens and all, but at the same time, I love the 2019-2022 body exterior than the newer 2023/2024 body Silverado, but seeing that there's finally a updated infotainment system to fit for the 2019-2022 Silverado I'm keeping my truck and getting this screen very soon.

Excellent video Don. But I have a couple of questions: 1) Did the truck's USB work, 2) If you were to get a new truck, would you take this unit out and reinstall the factory unit? Once again an excellent video. I was looking for something like this on my 2019 Silverado. Makes me mad that replacing the head unit is nil to impossible. until today.

Came with them. But now you can add an auxiliary camera as well.

I hope you have better luck than I did with my F150 T-Style radio, it died in less than a year with very little usage. It was also sluggish or wouldn't work at all in cold weather. I put my stock screen back in.
Which brand did you buy? I’ll be sick to my stomach if that happens to me!
@@martech360 I bought it from On3 Performance back in 2021, I don't recall seeing any brand name on it so they probably bought them unbranded. On3 no longer sells them, likely due to all the issues. I researched these radios a lot and they all look the same, probably all made in the same factory in China.

So hyped! Main question, do all the cameras work properly so far? Thats my main concern with aftermarket head units. And also wondering if the side view cameras still automatically activate when a trailer is attached and turn signal is on?
I have the same concerns. I'm looking to buy as well if all the functions and menu options work the same as the factory setup.
The same thing I am concerned about and if all works then I’m definitely upgrading. Hopefully the next video he posts shows all of what we need.
@@Revenge7zero placed my order already. And got a reply from the company, they said all 360 cameras work/all cameras around the vehicle. They stated they use the same module as the OEM head unit, so that all functions will be the same as factory as long as you specify what make and model you need when you order. After ordering they also reached out via email to confirm what make and model my truck is so that they ship out the correct unit. Haven’t Received mine yet, but so far the ordering process has been fine and communicative.

Hey Donslife how's it going. Most excellent website. The way you describe a product and how to install is second to none. So because of that I am purchasing the 15.6 screen for my 2019 LT Trailboss. Just one thing I'm stumped on. Aucarauto asks if it's 7 or 8 in. I'm not sure how to measure it. Is it side to side or diagonal like a TV screen is measured. Measure diagonal like a TV. For reference, mine is the 8” if your dash is the same and mine with a full middle console

Looks good. This is why I waited for the refresh so I wouldn’t be stuck with doing this or the dated dash.
I do like some of the additional features of the T-Style that factory doesn’t offer.
Definitely this thing is way more customizable than the OE stereos. I do like the way they look tho.
Does it have a latency between the voices and the video. Like a delay between what your seeing and what your hearing?

No issues with the ECU. I wouldn't expect there to be, it is more of an add-on device vs a replacement.

I am working on it so I cover as many questions as possible. I already figured out how to do things that another reviewer couldn't. I think it is important that I do it this way.

Great install video Don! I have a 2024 Silverado 2500HD Custom with 8” “IOR” infotainment system without 360 camera package. I really want the trailering camera system that includes side blind spot cameras and front camera, however, I checked the GM website and that package is only available for VHs with “IOK” infotainment system. Do you know if this upgraded infotainment system that you installed is an “IOK” system?
Thanks for watching. This add on screen is just that, an add-on with more features on top of whatever your truck is already configured with. Unfortunately it won’t upgrade or change any of the factory modules or options.

Great video! I actually never heard of that brand but it looks very similar to the Autotec Pro. I will certainly do some research on that one. Hope you’re really happy with it so far. Did you retain all the factory camera views with this unit?
Thanks, I asked them about the branding. Apparently they make theirs and have other companies become distributors and rebrand. I don’t know which companies though. I have retained all of my cameras. The reverse camera automatically triggers on when shifting and the others you access through the original screen which is a shortcut on the new screen
Don, Great install vid- I hope you are able to show all camera functionality with new infotainment unit. I have the trailer camera as well so wonder if it works integrated and full function...as well as automatic carplay and normal audio XM, AM, FM presets ..and any home screens template or split screens. Well Done Sir!
All of the original options are accessible and work. Only some apps support split screen functionality. RUclips and Maps work as an example

@@lanewarriorillridez3739 I can only confirm information with the one sample I have been reviewing. These products are manufactured overseas and I unless I have a compatible vehicle to test in, I will probably never experience other models. I wish I could provide more insight into other models.

Very interested in a review. I have a similar one in a 2015 gmc. The bluetooth is very spotty at best, the screen is hard to see any videos during the day (and my windows are tinted very dark, and the gps does not work reliably at all (gps antenna is just put behind the unit though).
