    I recently purchased this Dream Big floral panel (in Vanilla) and now I can't wait to get started! It might seem unusual to see men who can quilt, but really...they're among the best designers and tailors in the world, so this video shouldn't be a big shock! To have the patience and creativity is certainly to be appreciated and complimented. This project is a work of art and this gentleman gets a standing ovation from me!

    Really appreciate you showing how to quilt a large project on a domestic machine! A lot of free motion quilting lessons are done on a very small project and really don't show the challenges of working on a larger project. Bravo!

    • @cottagetreasuresquilting9289
      @cottagetreasuresquilting9289  6 лет назад +1

      Yes, Good News! We have the pattern for these petals and how to instructions available on our website. cottagetreasures.store
      To hang them on the wall. We just wrapped a piece of dowel with either white or black tape. Then attached the quilt to the dowel with 3 office clamps. Then attached the dowel to the wall with 2 heavy weight 3M hooks.

    Wow. Your are a natural for sure. I love your attitude and confidence in yourself. I struggled for a while, 18 years on my domestic but last year jumped to a longarm. I think you would be fantastic with that. Also I had my kitty, Mytzee with me quilting until she was 20. Love seeing your fur baby. Brings back wonderful memories. Keep up the great work. I just recently bought the panel at MQX in New Hampshire. Can’t wait to get it to the house. They were sold out in minutes. I love feathers and yours look wonderful. Thanks for sharing. Nice to see men stepping in to this role.

      Thanks so much. We are working on a more advanced free motion Dahlia Panel. Looking into a long arm. How did you like the jump?

    • @dianekuch1373
      @dianekuch1373 6 лет назад

      Sorry, I just saw the question you had regarding my long arm crossover. I enjoy it. It was different to be moving the machine as opposed to the fabric. My favorite way to quilt is using rulers. I do have a ProStitcher on my machine (H Q Avante) however I use the machine manually with the stitch regulator more. The computer is a little over my head. With practice it can be done. I would suggest someone buy the machine and use it for a year before deciding to add the computer. A friend of mine just uses the freehand method and has no interest in computerized quilting. After seeing what you are capable of, I know using a long arm will be much easier for you to get the beautiful detailed quilting you do and much faster. There is a bit of a learning curve but worth it in the end. I watched many hours of You Tube videos to help me. As far as which machine to purchase, I went with a 10 foot table just because of space. I don’t do king size quilts so it’s big enough. Each manufacturer has different features and most have the ability to add the computer later. Definitely test run a few brands. Each one feels and runs different for everyone. Some felt very heavy to me and others felt too light and had some bounce when quilting. I attended MQX shows for 5 years before I made the decision. To save some money, I bought a demo model from my local retailer and the warranty is still valid and transfers to the buyer. Good luck. If you decide to buy, I will be excited to see what you make with it.

Really enjoy the different ideas here on others that you have posted. The music is a nice addition. but the cats need to go. at 16:04, i was thinking of a few things to help you, not because i have quilted by machine before but because i have been gathering info and thinking of trying.
    1. copy your little pattern so if ruined you still have the original.
    2. take thread out of your machine (i like to put in an old BIG needle) and stitch the pattern using the paper only
    3. now you have holes in the paper that you can use to mark fabric through. if the dots are too hard to follow, connect them. now you don't have to constantly place the pattern and pick it up.
    i hope this helps. you are did a great job! keep it up! You have inspired me to actually sit down at my machine and give it a go.
