      Im not a softie or aesthetic preppy but i just wanna be cute and were shorts and leggings, and my favourite long sleeve shirts (its kind of “tight” to the point it shows ur figure). I just wanna enjoy short nails, “revealing” clothes, makeup without being bashed or sexualized.

      To my young girls under this post:
      Please please pleaseeee do not do it it is not worth it. You may obtain some social success but at the end of the day you have to deal with the repercussions of conforming to these pressures and standards. Being accepted is not worth by superficial standards and people. Being yourself will get you so much farther than trying to be what everyone around you wants you to be especially your peers. Women and young women are more than our bodies and sex appeal. You are your own person your own woman. Conforming to these overall sexual preferences will make you miserable and forget who you are.

Children and teens here are extremely exposed to it and they learn real fast that showing body, acting and learning sexy dance moves are ''fun'' or simply a positive thing to draw attention. They don't take it seriously or don't realize how terrible this is, we know what can happen next. Yeah I'm talking about funk, if you ever heared about Pablo Vitar or Anitta they are s*xualized icons, not only that, but a lot of male singers uses the same lyrics formula that speaks of free s*x, drugs and ostentation

    Let’s talk about it. I’m 14 and a Caribbean girl and I have noticed a trend. African and Caribbean culture has been demonized and sexualized as it does not fit the norm of OUR culture (which is crazy because it’s not even ours). Tyla does Bacardi a south African dance style which, yes, involves gyration, but who made that sexual? Water was a sexual song but she’s been doing this since her ballad songs like to last and it is a crazy notion that she wasn’t big just because Americans didn’t hear about her. She got big for being racially ambiguous and still having enough of that “exotic” appeal (yes people have called her such). I just think it’s crazy how we continue to hypersexualize those who aren’t even overly sexual and how we do such to our culture. I honestly think it’s a response to assimilation.

      As an african girl, we have dances where we gyrate our hips to the rythm of drums. We do it since childhood as it is not sexual at all. I hate when westerners sexualize my culture. We are just having fun and tbh having a strong waistline is praised where I'm from.

    • @LovelyLittleLillies
      @LovelyLittleLillies 5 месяцев назад

      Oh please, darling. I saw a video of how explicit dancing was at clubs in the Caribbean countries (outright mimicking inter course). What do white people have to do with that? Black people brought that explicitness to the West - who else introduced dances like whining and twerking? It was not a white man's creation. and I doubt white people have as much influence on a fully Black country like the Caribbean. Y'all keep blaming outsiders for your own people chosing to present themselves in an explicit, negative manner. Go look at African countries, many dress modestly and favour a certain discipline.

    I took a class on how bodies have been viewed throughout American history and it was eye-opening. We went from a society where they had literal zoos displaying black people so people could judge how different their appearance was, to a society entirely striving to achieve that exact body shape, no matter the cost. We went from ankles being scandalous to displaying everything being normal or expected. It’s really baffling how much things have changed even over the last decade or two.

    One of the hardest lessons to learn, especially if you grew up without pretty privilege, is that being sexually desired by a lot of men is not the prize you think it is. And I wish more women of influence would tell that too young girls. Because some men will literally dog walk you (as shown) because that’s exactly what they think of women, whether they sexualize themselves or not. It’s been advertised as liberty and freedom but the truth is, it is still objectification and exploitation. The man lusting over you doesn’t care that you chose to show him your hooha, instead of him choosing to look at it without your permission. He doesn’t care. He was going to look and think all of his thoughts anyway. And it’s incredibly sad. Sad that it’s been centuries of women treated like this.

Once you get consumed in all this media and you’re on the internet 24/7, when you get dressed/do your makeup etc, you start questioning why it doesn’t turn out like the other people, and these other people being people from the internet, not from what’s around you. I'm not religious, not even american, I just don't want every piece of media I consume to be about sex. It's what drew me into kpop in the first place, but now even kpop is becoming overrun with it with the recent push for westernisation from international fans and companies wanting to follow the money.

      YES!! i was viewing this video also with the perspective of seeing oversexualisation in kpop. not only the hypersexualisation of young girls in girl groups but also the boys in boy groups, that as soon as they turn 18, there's an expectation from them to start revealing their bodies more (its worse for girl groups as they could be minors but you cant tell because of the way their dressed/portrayed) and it's just so upsetting to see.

The fans are toxic, I could not make 1 friend with them unless they make me as a gossip thrower 2. Kpop idols only care about the money and the companies don't care about fans getting broke 3.kpop idols are not as nice as people think, 1 said he will not marry his "fans" because he is a idol aka he is a cash grabber not fans therapist like bang Chan and its sad to say, kpop idols don't really care about they're fans they are just like Hollywood stars Like Kylie Jenner and Hailey beiber that's why I quit Kpop it has gotten worse music is also to repetitive as I got older its not even meaningiful to listen to.

Destiny’s Child, Alicia Keys, JoJo, Kesha, Pink, Nelly Furtado, Ashanti, even Beyoncé and Rihanna back in 2004-2010 had many popular songs that weren’t explicit. She's not ugly at all, she's just not traditionally feminine and the way that people are used to seeing over and over and over again.
