I sadly shut down my 240 TB farm just before Christmas. I haven’t disassembled the rack yet. Wasn’t worth the Hydro was going to switch everything over to USB but haven’t found a cheap alternative for 80+ drives
SuperMicro makes a DR3 generation 72 drive 4u rack mount server. Can be had with a LITTLE shopping for $1000 plus shipping (it's HEAVY though, expect $250-$350 motor freight shipping cost). They make a DDR4 generation model as well, $1500 plus shipping. Their 36 drive models are also cheap - and don't have the HUGE shipping costs.
2:11 I agree it's a shit-show and not running along with BTC. But that chart is showing a clear inverse H&S which is bullish. I think all the pain (price wise) is behind us, finally.
I have done c5 compression plots (~23% size reduction) with my plotting pc RTX 3070 - 128GB ram + gen4 ssd. (Around 7 minutes/ plot) I am farming the plots (around 2000 plots) on my Intel i3 8100 cpu without any issues. So for c5 compression level you don’t need gpu and total power consumption is around 10-20w more because the cpu does the decompression. Hope it helps.
I dunno... the rising tide lifts all boats. I expect all crypto to do a partial bull-run the next two years. I'll sell half of my XCH when it hits $100 and hodl the rest for the heck of it. It's always been a hobby for me with a potential monetary bonus. I've enjoyed building my farmer/harvester, being a part of the Flex pool community until it closed, and of course the Poor Investor community! Keep posting Poor Investor, and bring back the fish tank! :D
So glad i sold everything when it was at 51$ today's price is at less than 30$. As much as i enjoyed the ride with plotting the first and second plots, it's time to go for me. 😅
I updated unknowingly when I had to upgrade my SSD for the OS in my farmer from a 240gig that was fine when I started with chia. But now the database has gotten much bigger and windows 10 was getting to 0 meg free after a few days. I didn't have any database corruption and was able to install the suggested older version.
Hi there… Evergreen steel me. I have the miner 6 months never worked 0.0002 a day , the worker didn’t work,😮 now my farm need to set up …. What can I do? Can I fix it? Or can I mining other crypto? Advice please
Even 2.1.4 I noticed gives me signage point errors. I never got these errors with older versions. Maybe version 2.2 just amplified whatever is already wrong with 2.1.4 (I never upgraded to 2.2) Hopefully their software quality wont take a dive to Helium levels of flimsiness. Helium stuff just crashes and burns and despite being incredibly simplistic requires one the latest version of Android to run. Edit: I accidentally downgraded to 2.1.1 after a power failure and *zero* signage point errors now. Food for thought.
I have watched your content for a few years now and the only thing I can come up with is that you are very new to crypto and really dont understand how any of this works. One thing I will say that most dont seem to understand is that, companies do NOT create blockchains so that miners can get rich in a couple years. Thats just not how things work. Mining is an investment opportunity that allows you to accumulate in an alternate way. Mining and crypto investing in general is a very long term game. Chia is still under heavy development and has almost no market presence so the price is not going to move much. It will rise with the rest of the market but not at the same rate until theres more exchange listings and more people are able to access it. If you are in crypto and expecting major life changing money in a couple years, you are going to be very sad and this comes out in nearly everything you produce these days. I do wish you the best tho. Also, I do agree with you that the flub with the last release should embarrass them a bit but I this isnt the 1st time they have made a poor decision and it certainly won't be the last.
Don't sale your chia if you don't need the money, wait till after the having, hey don't knock compression, I'm a small farmer and a GPU miner, I had just over 3500 Plots after compression i had over 7000 plots so you do the math on the returns, I didn't do it for fast plotting i did it for more plots. oh also you use the GPU to mine Chia, i use a 1660 super works great. yall need to smarten up about compression. OMG
I haven't updated my node in months lol I'm honestly tired of those database corruptions every-time i do so lol My payouts have been close to nothing since GPUs were able to plot, this project does not make any sense sometimes lol P.S.: This account has been permanently banned, LMAO wht did you on reddit my brother lol
Your GPU issue also has major flaws and shows a serious lack of understanding. For 1.. when you are plotting with a GPU, you are creating a plot in a few minutes as opposed to an hour with a cpu. I can assure you that grinding a GPU for 3 minutes uses much less energy than hammering a multi-threaded cpu for an hour. In the case of both plotting and farming, using a GPU requires much less power both short term and even more long term. It's not even in the same ballpark as to be compared to Proof of Work. The differences are so vast that It's not even worth discussing.
@@poorinvestor I'm unsure what you mean without a little more information. Chia does not have any "new plots" other than the current bladebit compression. There is some concern with Dr Plotter format which can achieve 350% compression (29 GiB plot size) and requires multiple high performance GPUs for compute. They have talked about a hard fork to combat this but nothing is set in stone as far as I understand.
It's not like other projects don't have other issues. We'll see what happens down the line, if chia gets to around 70 I'll be on break even, it may do that eventually.
We all know Chia is a pump for the following bull run, not this one. You're one of the few channels covering this coin on RUclips right now. So, if you're disappointed about price action maybe look inward on the FUD and attitude you put out. The roadmap of struggles this company has gone through is very similar to TSLA, IMO. And they were looking bankrupt at one time. Looking at the chart, it can't go any lower. So why not just wait and see? Update: chia is up 34% this week Lmfao
you know ... i am following you for 2 years maybe ... some mistakes are acceptable , but others are not ... and because of your few last videos , maybe some the holders really SOLD , and you caused a real loss for them ( sure experts like me laughed , because you are not reasonable anymore ) your emotions should not be involved in crypto ... the community is waiting an apology from you side i guess , especially the halving is in few days so this mean the price will go up for sure , and i am not talking here about the bull run that we just started ... not sure why you're so negative about the project nowadays.... your 96 xch just gained 1500$ .... cheers .

@@bricefleckenstein9666 thank you for the info
I didnt install the las update, lucky me. Still farming with 100TB updating it to compressed plots.
@user-rw8dn2ih9r what are you talking about? I just made a withdraw and sold 6 chia yesterday.
2:11 I agree it's a shit-show and not running along with BTC. But that chart is showing a clear inverse H&S which is bullish. I think all the pain (price wise) is behind us, finally.
Why aren't you farming to your own wallet? @user-rw8dn2ih9r
I only update when it's mandatory.
Thanks for the heads up bud...I always hold off a bit before upgrading just in case.
I was excited about the compressed plots, but I did not know that you would need a good gpu to undo the compression for farming.
I only update if absolutely necessary so if there were any issues I thankfully didn't have any. Cheers for letting us know anyway...
I love the updates. Thank you!

I didn't update... But I have been using a c19 compression lvl not much more power consumption for 78% more space... I'm at about 430tb
Chia will change our lifes!
😂 good one
I am still on freebad, So i rarely upgrade as it is a hassle. It is important to know why it was pulled.
muito bom seus vídeos. sou do Brasil e penso em ter uma pequena fazenda chia e por aqui não tem mais ninguém sobre ela.
That video did not age well, it just jumped to 55$ ... ^_^
And now 50 🤔
if you can compress, you would save space and not take up more drives from from the hard drive market right?
So glad i got out of XCH with 45% loss lol. ONLY!
hit me up on discord,
Good questions to ponder over. Will it eventually become proof of work?
Im glad you decided to keep your xchs chia to the moon 🤪
I was installed 2.2 and running without any problem from same time when released .

Wonder if they could undo the prefarm in the fork :p
We need you bro. Please post new video when you get a chance
Lucky for me I keep all my exe files. That lesson was learned back on windows 98 lol
Lack of employees, lack of plan, lack of marketing... Still farming but the hope is almost lost.
My wallet was just a bunch of errors on 2.1.4. I didn't update either.

Maybe mention the farming game too that's in creation as that's about the only new thing I've seen.
@user-rw8dn2ih9r what's withdrawing got to do with a game? Crypto is for crypto not fiat! Wake up call I know

I jumped on the Nossd bandwagon...if nothing else, it was super easy, unlike gigahorse or bladebit.
Alas, poor Chia - we knew it well...
I do a swap with other coins and it always cost more than just selling so I will just hold the chia for now.
Pretty good job in keeping the FOMO people away. Lesser Netspace - more rewards for me👍
lol im still on 2.1.4 I'm always slow to upgrade
clad to c you posting videos again .bullrun is inbound lets go
I hope you already sold all your 90 XCH by now. Then we have a chance to go 10X
I am the same i don't upgrade unless i really need to
Imagine 100% compression level lol.
no issue so far with the new version, but it would be safer to go back to the stable one.
Good thing you didn’t sell in the $30s!
I only update when I can't do anything else
