Dude really thanks for sharing your full and honest opinion, I do agree with you, and indeed I have switched my tiny hd farm to another project months ago.
I sold half of my Chia at around $40. In hindsight I should have sold all. Now I'm debating if I should sell more. Farming is pretty much pointless at this point for me, electricity cost is almost equal to the rewards.
Most people trust what you're saying because you are neutral. If it was a great project, you would say so. If you had concerns, you would express them. I love the quote from Gene where he talks about SSD for farming as if it's just around the corner. I think it's fair to say that they were outdone. Other brilliant minds basically broke Chia. Only proving that the collective brain out there can find an exploit or a better way. Like me saying I will be anyone that tries to play me in 9 ball. Fact is there is always someone better. Arrogant to think otherwise. Bram figured he had this rock solid. Sure. Totally untested and now look what happened. Exposed. Bettered. Humbled. A few people cashed in who sold huge capacity hard drives. Who the F in the marketplace wants a F 14TB hard drive for their personal use? More stuff on a single hard drive thus increasing your risk. Sure, buy 2 of the 14TB instead. Right. So logical. Point is? Chia is a bust. It makes no sense anymore. The engine is broken. They want to fix it. Then another person will better it and break it again. Even if they said they fixed everything and that it's now as solid as a rock, who in their right mind would trust that? Sure, this is the last time you need to replot and redo everything. Sure, sure. In closing? Green is the new brown.
I’ll always love you and I was really excited to see this video I sold all of my Chia at $40 and I’m completely done with the project having destroyed anybody’s potential break on farming, including a lower price makes it so stupid to even think about farming
thanks for your honesty save us all not to continue with this CHIA project.. I am turning off now my 120tib and sell those hdd while it has still in good price in my country. appreciated.. 🙏
Tiny farm. Your absence won't be noticed. On the other hand, if I pull the plug (likely in time) I probably will be .... barely ... noticed. Only reason I'm still here is SUPER cheap electric, so I'm still profitable. Just need the netspace to drop faster than the price....
I guess I was lucky. I was able to get in super early OG. Sold 2 chia for about $1500 each! Which covered set up costs for 8x 10tb seagates HDD. Then anything I earned I wanted to hold since the beginning but couldn’t chia never really surprised me later on, so kept selling. Now I’ve shut down my farm and selling off my HDDs before the market floods.
I have a tiny farm of like 80tb and turned it off recently. Wish I sold my first win of 2 Chia when it was originally $800!!! My farm constantly goes offline after a day or two which is very aggravating. All those $200 drives were a waste.
@@SterlingRobertson Yeah, you just leave it online, people use it as 'cloud storage', and you earn. I can't remember which is best atm, but do your own research. Heck, with so many drives, maybe you could even support more than one coin - depending on usage needs/payments to you from the network. Research online, man. Check out, Arweave, FileCoin, Storg, Sia, FluxNodes, etc...there's a bunch. But those should give you a starting point for research. I can't remember the exact details of each. Some just need CPU usage to help a decentralized network, and some out there need storage space. For ACTUAL storage, not...like Chia's storage of 'math'. lol
I have been watching your channel for years. I agree with your thoughts and well farming for 3 plus years and now my chia will never ROI my equipment or electric usage it may be time to bail.
Im glad i dumped my little farm into SMH a while back, ive made more off that than XCH by far. I started to lose faith in Chia when i realised that the only updates regarding the blockchain, were plotting and farming based, and never about building anything on the blockchain, or securing actual real life use cases.... For quite some time now ive felt it was nothing more than smoke and mirrors.... and when the news of the prefarm selling came out, i jumped ship altogether.
I send a few proposals to Chia team on their grant program (on-ramp and marketing support) and they didn’t even respond. Their business development team obviously doesn’t want to evolve, they just receive their salary until Chia goes bunrupt. That’s sad.
I have a farm, for X reasons it is offline. And I'm not even worried about it being off. Im happy i sold all the chia I mined instead of holding it. If someone is planning to farm chia, just buy the coin.
I'll keep farming, but I'm not going to keep compressing. If I get to the point where I need a 4090 just to keep up, it's just not realistic. As far as use case. I would be lying if I said that was ever a concern for me. I love tinkering and if I can make a little money in the process, that's great. As far as you being the reason Chia has gone down in price or people turning away. That's completely ridiculous. Sure SOME people may take your talking points and run with them, but if YOU were the reason any crypto was not doing well then that crypto was never going to survive to begin with.
I wish I sold all instead of buying XCH after selling off my equiment a couple of years ago. I am sitting on 30 XCH and will hold it until I can make back what I lost or it zero's. I have little faith.
I had HDD when Burst coin was a thing. Burst died, the drives went into the closet. Chia came along, the drives came out. Something will come next, really.
You are right, this is going nowhere. I'm seating on 600TB and I'm thinking it was a bad investment, fun and exciting in the beginning but not anymore, the feeling is, why haven't bought that BTC's 3 years ago and now I'm stuck with a bad investment. Live and learn...
Say thanks to the 50k xch dumped everymonth. The price could pump serval times and take new eyes onto board but nope, lets dump 50k. sure, the price is not going down but BTC pumps and xch stays at the same level cos of the prefarm sales. Then BTC going down, xch going down, and we are in ass already.
@@Chuck8541 not really it's actually holding up far better than most of the market, when you then factor 10BPS, dagknight, native plus external smart contracts it's likely got the biggest upside of anything in the market

I think a lot of people are still in the red on chia, and its in their best interest to spread hype/positivity for the coin because if the coin is higher they can pay back quicker. So many, possibly including myself, are saying good things and lying through the teeth. Nothing ruins a project quicker than universal negativity, somebody has to keep the ship moving forward. This is the quiet part im saying out loud, which ironically goes against what I aught to be doing above. Anyways. Chia to the moon!!! Best crypto ever!
Poor investor been right about a lot of stuff in the past. Some I struggled to agree with, but right now chia not looking in a great position. Will anything change? Guess this is why investing is a form of gambling… In the early days I was farming, but opted to buy instead and used whatever equipment I had as my homelab for work and learning. I bought heavily at 28 last year, not sure if I will get my money back but I’ll likely just sit on it. I’ll either ride it out to 0 or get my money back. 😂
