The house is already adorable. I still own my Mother’s house and it was built in 1973. Paneling can be painted but make sure to use Kilz All Purpose Primer. In my Mother’s house we painted the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Then got the lowest price granite Lowe’s had for the kitchen countertops and Formica (that looks like granite) to save money in the bathroom. Then new floors. The house was totally updated with paint, countertops and flooring. I definitely would not sell. Two weeks rental unit that close to the beach would be what you pay per year. So this house is truly a investment that brings y’all happiness. And you can’t put a price on happiness ❤️
Yes, we visit several times a year so well worth it! Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
Hi Emmy and Paul. Have you thought about renting thru air b&b part of the year? You could get some income with this. Just a suggestion of course. Love your channel.
Honestly , I'd sell the New York home & move to the little house ! A garden a couple of chickens & you're set. I'd update 1 room at a time. Checking into clearance sale of flooring , mistint paints , etc. That home is ADORABLE !
Paul’s parents live close to them in New York. It’s a blessing that they can spend time with them. ❤️
LoL
That's exactly what I was thinking
Gosh... I'd give anything to live there... And wouldn't really change a thing!
Except a giant garden to feed us! Just love it ❣️
I totally agree. Sell the New York house and move down there.
Thanks for your input but we really need to be here for Paul's parents right now.
Thank you SMarie...exactly!
I love this house! It is a perfect get away. Rather than laminate flooring I can’t recommend vinyl planks enough. It is reasonable and we love it. Also just paint the paneling to brighten the space. Thanks for the tour!
Sounds wonderful! Thank you Trudy!
I agree I think it would give it more caracter.
What a cozy and adorable house! For a house of 980 square feet, it's amazing that it has so much storage space/cabinet space. I honestly don't think anything needs to be changed, and all your decor is beautiful and tasteful. Dixie wants to enjoy the living room furniture too! Great video, as usual. Have a nice weekend.
Linda thanks so much! Yes, the little Diva was in almost every room as we filmed LOL!
Thank you for sharing. Your house is incredible! It's a great place for vacation. Here, in France, the houses are smaller than the American average houses. So, it's not really a "little" house for me, but just a regular house! 😅 I love your channel. I don't comment very often because my English is not the best, but I watch every one of your videos. 🤗
Emilie your English is brilliant!! Thanks so much for being here!
This home is so precious! I wouldn’t change anything about this house until you absolutely had to. I love the shower curtain, and the yellow theme in the kitchen is great. Simple is best. So happy it’s within your budget and you can enjoy it for years to come. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
Thanks so very much Debi! Appreciate that!
Hello! It's a sweet home. I look at it this way- if it's clean and everything works, it's just fine. Updates can be done in time, when you can afford them. I'm glad you have a little house to go to for getaways. Take care!
Thanks so much Jeanne!
Love the little house. I like that it’s not overdone. If you don’t like the paneling, just paint it, painted paneling looks great. If you want to have more on the walls, the puzzles your son did would look great. Try looking at thrift stores or yard sales for pictures with a frame you can use, even if you need to put a mat with it. I think you both were wise to keep it.
That's the plan! Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
@@FrugalMoneySaver lovely place to go to refresh and renew!paint
The paneling and do
As talked little at a time.
What more could you want? Thank you for sharing Emmy and Paul! Try painting some of the paneling before investing in new drywall. It's a frugal update. I've done it in my rental house and was very pleased with the results. The living room furniture is perfect. Love your choice of seating!. I'm sure that made a huge difference. Charming home! Great decision to keep it yours! 👍
Thanks Chris! Don't want more...very blessed lol.
Ohhhh I love it!!! I spent my entire younger years 13 yrs old until 30 yrs old ....every summer in Cherry Grove /Myrtle Beach. And I then instilled the love of that area in my children. It's a quick shot to North Myrtle from my house.
And your house....🤗....oh it is exactly what I raised my children in and what I want to get back to❤️
I would not change one single thing in there except for the wall in the kitchen as you said.
That house is heaven....and the cost is miniscule to the joy it brings you. Thank you for sharing. It brought some good memories for myself ❤️
Cherry Grove is the beach we go to! Our absolute favorite! We are actually in Longs if you know the area.
Aww...your sweet wedding photo!
💞
Palms on the crucifix... a blessed Palm Sunday to you tomorrow.
You as well! Thank you!
Ooh 23k subscribers, congrats! Always enjoy your video’s! Loved your beach/farm house, so cute. My counter tops are a light gold marble Formica, old but still look great. My kitchen sink was leaking so I got a new sink and new filter system for our tap water, we fix the things that need to be done. Old doesn’t mean it needs replaced but that is our point of view❤️
YES!! Very well said Cindy!
You are so blessed to have this beautiful home that your parents owned! Personally I love it just the way it looks. ❤️
Susan, thanks so very much!
I would paint the panelling white or soft yellow and use straw/wicker/ratten blinds on the windows.
Thanks so much for the input Lisa!
What an adorable house! It is absolutely precious. I would probably paint the paneling in the kitchen white and I think that would just perk it right up For now and at a very low expense. You’ve done a beautiful job so far.
Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
Love your family pictures.
Your beach home is adorable! What a perfect size home for a retirement couple. I can see you both moving down south in a few years.
Yes, that would be wonderful!!
@@FrugalMoneySaver Yes, I agree moving there. I’m sure cost of living would be less AND the beach is everyone’s happy place!
So pretty. I love it. My opinion is paint works wonders. You can paint paneling easily. It’s all in the prep work. I think the Coastal look through out is good.
Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
I'm a child of the '50's/'60's and a teen of the '70's. I LOVE that house! When I saw it, I instantly felt at home...without ever being there! I think you and Paul have done well in keeping it and leaving it pretty much in its original state. I agree with you about the shag carpet. I might paint some paneling light yellow. And, I'd definitely frame and hang those beautiful puzzles! Eventually, I might paint the kitchen cabinets white, or uppers white and lowers a medium gray, like your sofa. I would think about removing only half (horizontally) the wall that divides the kitchen and living room right now. That's what my dad did back then. There was still openness between the 2 rooms...conversations could go on easily between the 2 rooms, and there was still space on both sides of the half wall for a chair, that little eating counter, cabinets, an extra freezer, beverage cooler, etc. And I LOVE your shower curtain. I also love blue and white for a clean, fresh look. You look so sun-kissed, Emmy. I'm glad you got to go to the beach for a while!
love the shower curtain. seaside decor it tasteful. in my opinion. I can't see letting it go while you can get there a couple of times especially a year.
Thanks so very much Jonna!! YAY!!
I agree Loraine! Thank you!
@@FrugalMoneySaver 😊
Lovely home in Mrytle Beach. Country back yard, so green. Front of home is really nice looking. 💗🤗💗
Thank you Judy!
That house is so cozy. The older I get, the less space I want so that size is just perfect. My home has paneling in our lower level including an entire bank of built in cabinets with paneled doors. We painted the paneling using two complimentary colors without any trouble and it looks great. It was affordable and no more extra work to paint than drywall/sheetrock walls. Just clean the paneling first with something like Murphy's Oil Soap or some other diy cleaner to get any oils or dirt off, let it dry and prime and paint. For decor, because the house has a history, adding some more photo's from Paul's childhood to any of yours set up in some appealing way on the wall(s) would be nice.
Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
What a truly lovely and cosy home. I would definitely consider retiring there. It is super x
Thank you!
Oooh, well since you asked... I love this adorable little house. Before I ordered any flooring, I would try pulling back a corner of the carpet in a closet to see if there are hardwoods underneath. If you aren't so lucky, I would put in vinyl planks -not laminate floors. I would paint the paneling white instead of messing with sheetrock. Even if it's not solid wood, it is easy to paint it if you use the right primer. I would paint all the trim in the house a bright white including the louvered doors. I would paint all the walls the same color throughout the house to tie it together. I would paint the fan over the stove with spray paint. I would add yellow gingham curtains to the kitchen. I would replace the bathroom light fixture over the sink and add towels that bring out the colors in the shower curtain. I would remove the small shelf above the toilet. I would take out the top half of the wall between the living room and kitchen and put an eating bar/counter there. I would add a small deck or flagstone patio to blend the house to the yard. I'd plant a low hedge of dwarf boxwoods to give the patio a sense of enclosure and maybe add a pergola or awning for shade. Then- I would move there full time.
WOW!!! I am taking notes LOL! Thank you!
Emmy, the little house is darling. Your parents would be so happy to know you are taking such good care of it. A great house to pass on to your son one day! Since it is small, changing out the flooring wouldn’t be that expensive but would make a big impact. Adding a large painting to the master bedroom wall above the chest of drawers and a wall mirror, maybe in the hallway, would be lovely.
Sounds wonderful! Thank you Norma!
Your Little House is so nice and we would love living there as well even with no updating. Your furnishings are really nice and it is good not to have too many extras there to take care of and/or replace since you are not there full time. It sure brings home the fact that frugal living does not mean you are missing out on anything of value. Just the opposite, you can have meaningful things in your life without the burden of debt. Thank you so much for sharing. Many blessings to you both!
Thank you so much! You said it perfectly Linda!!
You can paint the range hood to match the stove. Then it would looks more cohesive.
True! Thanks!
Awe.... loved the tour of your sweet brick home in North Myrtle! We moved from CT back in '91 to the Spartanburg/Greenville area and then to Myrtle Beach in 2013. We LOVE IT HERE! And we too own a small brick home *built in '85* on 1.12 acres in the heart of Myrtle Beach! It's rare to have this much land where we are..and we appreciate it every single day. Thank you for sharing your precious home. It's a wonderful place and I hope you keep it forever. God bless! New subscriber here too~
Welcome Sonya!! So happy you found us! Oh my gosh an acre in MB!!
I love it! You are so lucky to have a place like that to use as a getaway. I’d live on ramen noodles if necessary to keep that house. I wouldn’t even mind that it needs updating. Who cares! It’s quaint and charming.
That's how we feel! Thank you!
Good bye New York! I'd be more than happy in that sweet little house...its an absolutely perfect retirement home! Room to garden, relax, and such a low cost home. I love it and I really LOVE that shower curtain! 💖 Thank you for sharing your sweet home. May God bless you extra special today!
Thanks so much! May God bless you as well!
I love this video! I checked and you probably drive down on 95. That’s west of me. If you ever decide to drive down Hwy 17, a more coastal route, let me know. You’ll always have a stop over place to rest, eat and relax for a half way rest stop!!
That is so kind. We take I95 to Lumberton to I74 then to Loris Route 9
@@FrugalMoneySaver That’s what I guessed, but you’re always welcome if you want to change your route!! Please keep your videos coming! They are so enjoyable and helpful. Virtual hugs!
I love the color yellow, it's a happy color, and goes with every color.
Our home here in NY is yellow...inside and out LOL!
Hi and thank you for sharing your lovely house with us. What a wonderful place and you can really tell that it has been lived in full of love! 🏡 ❤
This week's question is kind of hard because the decorations Paul and you make are so lovely. 😊
More and more I've come to realize that decorating with things that are actually useful can be more fulfilling.
As an example, maybe you already have a beautiful tin or glass container that would go with the white & blue theme of your master bedroom that can be used as a sewing kit for the beach house.
I'm happy you are back home safely and wish you a nice and restful weekend.
What a lovely comment! Thanks so very much!
Lovely house! Cannot believe your taxes! Upstate New Yorker here, and my taxes are outrageous. About two hours north from your NY home. Wonderful memories you have in SC. If you didn't still have family in NYS I would say move.
Yes, our families are here!
Welcome to beautiful South Carolina
Thanks so much Karen!
The house looks great! The paneling adds to the whimsy! My first priority would be the floors… we replaced our carpets with wood laminate and it wasn’t that expensive. Under $200 per room, I think. Maybe a little more for the living room. Hanging those puzzles will also add to the appeal.
Yes, the carpet is the first to go!
Oh Emmy and Paul What a great home.! I love it so much. I have never been one to want a big house. Just one with storage and that definitely works. Enjoy it always!
Thank you so very much Doris!
Lovely place. Paint the paneling and replace carpet.
That's the plan! Sounds wonderful! Thank you Mandi!
The house has a very soothing and homey feel to it. I would just add things you find that represent your experiences when you vacation there. Nothing deliberate unless that's something you enjoy doing. I love the idea of framing the beach themed puzzles for the guest room.
We've been working in the yard and garden, so when I saw the empty canvas of the back yard I immediately pictured a leisure garden with native plants and a walkway to shaded seating areas and fun things for grandchildren to discover and play on/in. But maybe too much of a project for a vacation home.
Lovely ideas Sandra! Thank you!
Adorable! Decorate with some of the puzzles.
Thank you 🤗
Agree with many other comments- paint! Paint the paneling, you could even paint the furniture to make it look more beachy. New frugal floors and you're set! Love it !!
Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
I love North Myrtle Beach! This is where my family growing up went on vacation, and my husband and I took our 5 boys there for vacation last year. It's a wonderful place and looks like a real blessing that you have a home there!
Thanks so very much Annie for watching and sharing!
Absolutely delightful house Emmy xx❤️❤️
Thank you Paula!
❤️❤️
Was also thinking of painting the panneling.or make a piece of Art,with twigs, from you're Garden. And Put little birds in it.Or a sun,or little Figures from plaster.or Things you find at the beach.woid or shelves
Thanks so very much!
Fresh paint really upgrades a room. Also accessories will make the house newer if they ARE newer. Like the idea of a laminate floor. Appliances in the kitchen should match.
Yes, appliance should match but the don't always lol!
I love this house! The happy feelings it invokes! So full of love. I appreciate your asking what we would do to play with the decorating. As a designer, I will now let it rip. It is so charming as it is, true beach-life.. But if you feel like doing something, perhaps after getting some beachy flooring you could paint the paneling and trim a "paper" white. That's all. It might unify the space. I'd probably paint the kitchen cabinets--perhaps a very light blue- gray--, making sure there's a bit of contrast between the cabinets and the formica. The formica is wonderful. Thank you for letting me air my thoughts!
Wonderful! Thank you!
I love your "little" house in SC! The property and backyard are so beautiful. One of your must-dos needs to be a back porch / deck. I can definitely see Paul out on the grill and your company relaxing on patio furniture. I can also see Paul entertaining everyone around a firepit with his guitar. I can also see you guys adding a chicken coop, as well as flower and vegetable gardens to add beauty and grow your own food. The house has so much potential - I love it! We are remodeling our house as well, little by little, debt free. It is so much more rewarding remodeling debt free than owing thousands of dollars. Keep us posted!
Thanks for the beautiful vision Amy!!
I love the paneling. It looks homey and matches the style of the house. Family photographs and those puzzles would be awesome. Maybe some pictures of dolphins and birds. I like bird pics for the master and dolphins for the guest room.
Sounds great!
It's a cute house. I like the vintage look. I loved the shower curtain. The first thing I would do is for safety. I'd check and see if you have to do major updates to put a railing at the front and back steps. If not, putting railings at the steps would be the first thing I would do.
Agreed on the railings. Now that I am older, I have a hard time going up and down steps without railings.
I’m a new subscriber so it was nice to see a recent video where you talked about your little house. Did a quick search and found this video for a house tour, it’s so cozy and tidy! Love to see how it looks now in 2023! 😄🇨🇦
Welcome Joanne ! So happy you found us! Thank you!
Oh my! I'm so glad you were here! The weather has been wonderful for the beach! You look tanned and relaxed, Emmy! Love you house!
Thank you so much Millie!!
I would paint the wood I wouldn’t get rid of it ‘‘tis coming back in fashion . Just paint it would look great and I’d paint the kitchen cabinet Es.
Sounds wonderful! Thank you Ros!
I love your little house. I would recommend painting the paneling. I had paneling painted in one of my homes and it was great. I think the kitchen cabinets would be pretty painted yellow. There is vinyl flooring, which looks just like wood. We had this in an office and it was so practical and easy care. Good luck with all your projects. ❤️
Thanks for all the great ideas Mary Ellen!
Thank you for sharing! So glad you kept your darling house! Must keep the house. Someday your son will share your joy. You should spend more time there! Agree the carpeting should go. You have so much wonderful land there too. Paul would be able to plant lots of delicious veggies in a garden!
LOL! Yes, lots of corn!!
I redid a house years ago that had the paneling and I just painted it! It was cheap, easy and looked so bright and pretty! What a perfect little place!
Thanks so very much!
Your house is so darling and adorable. I would seriously move there, you can rent it out on air b & b when you're not there. Hopefully you'll consider the little house as a permanent 🏡 home. 💕
Yes one day we hope to be full-time residence of South Carolina!
Thank you for the tour. Before we got married in !973, we were trying to decide on a small house to build. Your little house looks like the exterior of the house we were thinking about. We never built it because plans changed, but seeing your little house brought back pleasant memories. 😃
Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
You all are SO sweet and modest. That home of yours in SC is absolutely gorgeous. Honesty! The older I get the more small and cozy appeals to me. I loved Paul’s comment that it’s easy to clean. What a blessing. No doubt you have many fond memories from when your parents lived there Ms. Emmy. That picture frame Paul made you brought tears to my eyes. Precious! Enjoy your sweet SC haven!❤
Such a kind comment, thank you so much!
Love this little house! I would paint all the paneling in the house white. That would brighten it and update it
Great idea!!
I get such a chuckle when you call your SC home the little house because I live in 960 sq ft full time, and think it’s too large! LOL. Such a charming home. Like others have mentioned, I would try painting the paneling white for right now.
LOL! Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
I love love love this little house! You are so blessed!
Thank you so much Sue!
Hello from New Hampshire. I had to smile, the year round cottage we built in 2016 is 988 square feet! But we do have a full, walk out basement. We could add on, but maybe just a four season porch. You have a very sweet 2nd house! Yes, the word is functional and perfect for your vacation home. Our cottage is open concept with cathedral ceiling and two bedrooms. Love your beach theme! 🐬🐬🌴🌴🌊🌊
Your cottage sounds amazing!!
How amazing your SC home is! I feel like we would all be the best of friends because my husband and I have a family cottage which we have been slowly redoing step by step! I would not change much in your home but agree that it will have an airy feel once you remove carpet. And the 250$ a month is such a worthwhile investment in my opinion because this is your yearly vacation as well as your family heritage. I love your wedding photo also.
Yes, we get down several times a year so it's well worth it!
How often do you get to visit this beach home? Will you be able to stay here when it gets too cold in NY?
We go as often as we can from March-Oct. We don't like to leave our NY home vacant in the winter.
Hi I love the beach glad u are going to keep for now I would paint and restore the beauty of the home like u said little by little when the funds coming in
It a great vacation home just to get away here in Calif. the beach house are
In the millions keep up the good work and we love how your on your way living frugality
Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
I love your SC house! It’s just perfect!.. As you have a coastal theme, maybe paint or wash paint the wood to white? With laminate flooring and rugs, it would be so fresh!
Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
To keep the cost down I would sand the paneling and get a few 5gal buckets of drywall mud, smear it all over the paneling then take a dry paint roller, roll it over the wall to give it texture and let dry. Then take a wide putty knife scrape off tips caused by roller and paint. Less mess than new drywall and affordable.
Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
I think it's beautiful and peaceful looking♥️
Marlana, Thank you!
Don't ever sell!
Love this! I would paint first and that way you don’t have to worry about getting anything on the floor since you’ll be replacing it.
Yes! We have been painting this whole week actually lol
That’s wonderful! I hope it is going smoothly! :-)
I would paint the paneling.
Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
House is super cute. I would definitely keep the house. Paint would make a big difference with minimal cost. You can paint the paneling and also paint the kitchen cabinets white. Get rid of the shag carpet. I personally like carpet in bedroom. Look for something on sale.
Thanks so very much Alyson!
I would paint the panelling and cupboards. Thanks for the tour
Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
Please consider wearing sunscreen!!! The change in your skin color is soooo bad in the long run. I know the sun feels good but it can be deadly. Skin cancer survivor over here 👋
I used SPF50. I would never go in the sun without sunblock
@@FrugalMoneySaver but if your skin changes colour you’re not wearing enough or putting it on early enough and often enough. Your skin is totally changed color in this last video 😬. Not scolding. Just spreading the news as it almost killed me!!!
I love your little house as it reminds me so much of my late parent's home where I grew up. Following their passing my sister and I sold the home as we already lived in the same town and loved our own homes and we did not want to be land ladies and rent it out. The soon to be married young couple that purchased the home which was built in 1952 and had the decor like your parent's home loved the look and had no intentions of turning it into a modern home and glad the only updates we did were minimal. I am sure if you eventually relocate to this home full time you will be very happy there.
Thanks so very much for the encouragement!
My first house in Tx had the exact same floor plan. I noticed a few things laid out differently, but immediately knew where everything was. I often wish my house was still so simple and easy to clean! Thanks for the tour. Brought back many happy memories. Love your sweet channel.
Thanks so very much Diana!
I knew y'all were great people, but that Clemson Tiger banner in the guest bedroom confirmed it!😁 My family members are diehard Clemson fans. You have a lovely home. Your Dad had a large garden. I have 2 nieces who have lived in Myrtle Beach for years. I like North Myrtle Beach. I live in NC on the coast near Wrightsville Beach. Again, your home is very lovely. I see why you enjoy coming there. I LOVE the shower curtain😊 I would frame those beautiful puzzles and decorate with them. You might could make frames out of decorative molding. My husband did that for a large print and it was pretty. Your son making those puzzles is extra special. Thanks for the tour.
Gail thank you so much for the wonderful comment!!
I live in Conway! Hello neighbor!
YAY!! We love Conway!! Thanks for stopping by!
The dollar store has cute things to decorate with. Some calenders are so beautiful just frame them and you have 12 pictures there. I love to crochet so I decorated my place in Florida with crocheted lamp shades, doilies, curtains, hot pads, dish cloths. Get creative like your magazine holder. My husband loves wood working so shelves, bench, hot pads. Think outside the box and it will reflect you, if you love to craft. I once saw a round mirror with shells around it so pretty. Just a thought. Instead of picture frames, light switches, a can with stones, use shells. Happy crafting.
Sounds wonderful Sheryl! Thank you! I wish I was a bit craftier lol!
I love that house!!!! I wouldn’t do anything to it except the carpet. It’s vintage! I wouldn’t worry about it. Enjoy it.
Thanks so much Stephanie!!
I love your home away from home. The property alone is worth it.
I agree Evelyn! Thank you!
Your house is adorable. Brick and an acre. What a blessing. You can either paint the paneling as is, or fill in the groves and then paint, it really looks nice, like beadboard. If you run across any close out flooring cheap.....Honestly though, what a super beautiful place. God Bless.
Thank you! God bless you as well!
Very cute house. You could actually paint the paneling. A nice off white would be nice. A quick and inexpensive fix.
I love the house. Maybe a little paint, rugs must go! I wouldn't change much you would loose the character of the house. Enjoy! Your are blessed.
Sam's club membership increases from $45 to $50 & Olus $100 to $110.
I love the house! I would paint the paneling a light color to go with the beach theme. I would put the same vinyl flooring throughout the house.
Maybe paint the kitchen cabinets too.
Sounds wonderful! Thank you!
I've often wondered about that beach since the film October Sky came out, it sounds like a pleasant place.
It's truly lovely!
@@FrugalMoneySaver Did you see the movie, true story?
Great sun tan! It’s not a home without a pet on the furniture 🤗 it’s a lovely home….you are blessed….and, such a beautiful wedding picture….awe, we lost our moms in the same year 💔
You lost yours too that year? So sad...
We're in NY too and often talk about buying a little house down there. I hate NY but we can't afford to move and live in SC but we could afford to buy a second home down there with our NY income. SC pays crap for jobs otherwise we'd just move.
What an ideal vacation home. Just perfect in size and seems to be very sturdy. How blessed you are to have it. My suggestion would be to paint all the walls a very, very light blue to capture the feel of the ocean and for continuity and flow. A light colored laminate on the floors would really open the space up too. Paul is so talented I'm sure he could manage anything that needed to be done. Love the shower curtain; so Margaritaville!
Missed when you didn't post yesterday. Was hoping all was well.
You look great with a tan too!
Thanks so much Sheila!! Love your ideas!
I would decorate with beach scenes & would spend the entire summer there, swimming in the Atlantic Ocean. I love the Atlantic Ocean because it is so much warmer than the Pacific Ocean. The Pacific Ocean is very pretty but is too cold for an old lady like me to swim in.
The house is wonderful the way it is. People waste so much money “updating” homes when sometimes it’s just not necessary. Your little house has obviously been very well cared for, and unless you have a problem, I wouldn’t change a thing!
So kind of you to say that Kristie...thank you!
@@FrugalMoneySaver you’re very welcome.
Beautiful 🤩 thanks for sharing!
Thanks so very much!
Oh Emmy, that a wonderful home! I lived 13 years about 1,5 hrs from your home right at the Canal of Lake Moultry/Lake Marion!! I love SC and hope to go back there one day sinc both my sons and family lives there! I am in Germany now. I love old wooden wine boxes-mabe painted in white then sanded down a little to giv them hat weathered look, then mount 2 or 4 as shelves on the wall and put seashells and nick nacks on it like pictures glasses etc...or if you paint the walls in light yelow make the boxes grey to match your theme or baby blue.....You could find a woven basket/laundry basket made of sweetgrass in the Charlestons farmers market and many other decorations....God bles!
Oh what truly lovely ideas Granny!! Thanks so much for sharing! God Bless you as well dear friend!
I had a friend who painted her paneling. It lightened up the rooms! It was temporary but it worked.
Glad you had a safe trip home. 😊 🌊⛱ I noticed the Clemson pennant in the bedroom and have noticed both of you wearing Clemson apparel. Are y’all alumni?
Re: decorating…I’d paint the paneling a light grey. We did that when updating my parents’ house to sell and it made a huge difference.
Sounds wonderful! Thank you! Not alumni just huge fans!!
I would not change much. I had a house that had a room with paneling and just painted it looks great. Remember now "old is now new" A lot of people want vintage now. Farmhouse chic or shabby chic. Most of the house would fit that decor. I love it as is with a few touches.
Thank you for the encouragement Carrie!
It’s clean and comfortable looking, and I’m sure you’re welcoming hosts. That’s all that really matters 😊
Yes, we love hosting lol! Thank you!
What a delightful home. I love everything about it. It's perfect just as it is.
Thanks so very much!
Very nice house🙂❤️
1) Get rid of carpet; redo floors.
2) Get rid of kitchen wall; open it up.
3) Re-stain all cabinetry to match throughout the house, and simply change the hardware.
EVERYTHING ELSE IS FINE👍
Hugs and blessings,
Washington State❤️🙏
Thanks Heidi!
What a lovely home!! 🐚🌊
