Today is December 7th, 2021, and I"m here in the memory of my uncle Eugene Keller Eberhardt, who was killed aboard the USS Oklahoma. Some of his bones have been identified in the last six years and were buried at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors and 60 members of my family attending.
That is such a nice thing to honor him even after 80years. Im Korean and grateful that many american soldiers like your uncle fought against Japan and save many Asian countries.
My grandpa was a medic in the navy and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. He was just 17, fishing his friends out of the water, trying to save lives. Seeing body parts everywhere, not able to save them like wished he could. He didn’t die that day, but the carnage he experienced stayed with him his entire life. He became a pharmacist in a small town. He was a good man, calm and gentle. But every night after he tended to his responsibilities, he would drink whisky and go back to December 7, 1941 and relive that day with more grief than his soul could bare. He would tell my mom the horrors he saw. He didn’t die that day, but he did give his life. Every night for him was December 7, 1941. He died at 54, having not lived since that day.
Why do living things continue to exist? Of course, because they continue to be made! At the same time creating these antonyms, to continue to decorate earth; Beautiful - ugly Happy - sad Laugh - cry Full - hungry Life - death Predator - prey In fact, all these antonyms might no longer continue to occur, if all living creatures stopped making substitutes. The earth will be empty, quiet, quiet, calm.

From 1919-1921, Yamamoto enrolled at Harvard University. For 3 years, Yamamoto studied English. He would go on to spend a total of 4 years in the U.S. In his early career, Yamamoto started as an aide to a navy admiral in the U.S. Then, from 1926-1928, he became a Japanese naval attache' in the U.S. And that's how Yamamoto showed his gratitude to the U.S., by masterminding the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941.
My great grandpa was stationed in pearl harbor during the bombing. He has some messed up stories about some messed up things. He was right there on the front lines of everything, and got shot in the ear while in action. He is long gone now, but never forgotten. RIP to all of the men that have lost their lives fighting for our country.
How did he get shot in the ear? If he was shot by munitions from Japanese aircraft it would have turned his entire body into pink mist. There was no ground fighting in Pearl Harbor.
People forget these days I’m not really from a major military family my uncle was in the navy for the falklands but people really do not and I do not understand the shit that soldiers went through in order for us to have what we have. Pearl Harbor was disgusting the war was disgusting but I can’t even imagine what it must of been like to go through this and see the things they have seen. Being a Navy vet I always remember December 7th. But I also remember because my father in law joined the Navy on 12/8/41 he was 16. By early 1942 he was a torpedo man in the destroyer escort fleet doing convoy duty in the North Atlantic. He made 37 trips through the canal seeing Naval combat in both the Atlantic & pacific theaters. I cherish the memory of hearing his stories first hand. FLY NAVY!!!
It's interesting to hear what they thought did what damage immediately afterward, like how they thought the subs were responsible for the Utah and Oklahoma, and how they thought the Arizona explosion was from a bomb in the engine room not a magazine
My grandpa was sent here the day after the attack as part of a clean up crew. Told stories of hearing the men in the ships trapped and screaming for help. Also told stories of pulling men out of the water who were burnt and the skin would just fall off their arms from being burnt so badly... RIP to those lost ❤

I work at a nursing home, today one of my residents told me today was the day he got confirmed in church then came home to find out pearl harbor was attacked. 79 years ago, must have been a memory he remembers every Dec 7th. Just wild man.
My grandpa on my mother's side was a machinist at the shipyards there, mainly working at the submarine pens. When the attack occurred it was his day off so he was in the hills hunting with his brother. When they heard the battle they initially thought it was artillery exercises and laughed about the Army working early on Sunday. They saw a damaged plane fly over them and his brother identified it as Japanese, at that point they returned to town. Immediately after the attack he worked on rescue effort on the USS Oklahoma and then on its salvage assessment. He very well could be one of the men standing on the hull in this video.
Japan still won the propaganda battle. There are so many polls now showing that the majority of the world looks down on America negatively for the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

It is sad, over 2,500 people were killed. Although about 64 of them were Japanese Military personnel. Other than that, I am praying for those who are now with God in heaven.

My Grandpa survived peral harbor, he was supposed to be on a ship but instead he was put on KP duty underground…he died in 2008. I’m proud he was my grandpa 🪦 🇺🇸
My Uncle Don Wells was an Ensign on the USS Barnett. It was the first to land troops. He turned 100 last Saturday. He spoke of delivering General Teddy Roosevelt to the beach who commanded the landings from the beach with no concern for his safety. Evidently, the Barnett then went to Italy, and then on to the Pacific. He never said what he did in the Pacific. As for what happened at Normandy he did not talk about it even to his kids, only telling me that it was "Hell."
Let us never forget them on this 80th anniversary. I especially acknowledge this as my grandfather fought in World War II, although he wasn't at Pearl Harbor.

My grandpa was 19 at the time this happened, and grew up on a beef ranch in northern California. He enlisted in the army and was assigned to the air corps due to his small stature. I remember him telling me it was common for them to put the little guys in the airplanes because they weighed less than bigger soldiers. My family has literally hundreds of photos he took of other airplanes while flying his own during the war.
I had 2 great uncles on the Arizona. Nether made it out. Their names are on the memorial wall. Last name Daniels. Went to visit they’re grave this past summer.
Today is December 7th, 2021, My Aunts mother was 7 years old in Hawaii watching this happen, she said she remembered all of it, it's sad that this happened.
What makes this footage so rare is the lack of spin. It's a raw look into the destruction and devastation that occurred. This was likely unreleased at the time because at that time it was protocol to spin any footage towards American favor. This is a true gem.
The entire thing was spin. Did you catch the part about hundreds of dead civilians? They failed to mention that of the total 68 civilian deaths, most were caused by friendly fire from errant anti aircraft shells landing in populated neighbourhoods. The American military's ordnance killed more civilians than Japanese pilots on that day.
In 1940, FDR ordered James Otto Richardson, the Navy's foremost expert on Japanese naval tactics, to relocate the Pacific battleship fleet to Pearl Harbor from San Diego. Richardson protested this relocation, claiming that Pearl Harbor was indefensible from an air attack, even travelling to Washington DC to personally make his case to the President. He was rebuffed in his arguments and reluctantly followed orders, over-seeing the transfer of the fleet to Pearl. In February of 1941 Richardson was relieved of command of Pearl Harbor. Memos dated to February of 1941 are archived in the Library of Congress and the Roosevelt Library that describe an attack on the fleet at Pearl Harbor and referencing specific ships that were sank. On December 7, 1941, 77 years ago today, 2335 servicemen and 68 civillians died when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor before formally declaring war on the United States, making the attack a war crime. 1100 men died on the USS Arizona alone.

Was just there on Memorial Day this past week with my family. It was the 60th anniversary of the memorial being opened. It was a very somber day but one in which i could share with a younger generation of family and have them experience and learn what the ultimate sacrifice for this country is about. And i did cry as well... RIP brave souls..
My grandfather got TB before he was set to be stationed on USS Utah. Call it divine intervention, but my heart goes out to all of the lives lost and the legacies that ended.
My father joined the Air Force on the day Pearl Harbor was attacked! My mother met him after he joined ! 6months later I was born in Houston Tx! He got assigned to Ladd USAF BASE in Fairbanks AK. He flew b52’s with the big red button ! He was assigned to Japan our over the pacific and based in China! He never told mom just where! His plane was sabotaged and went down on the last island over the ilusian islands off of AK! He wasn’t awarded the distinguished flying cross and his jacket was covered with ribbons and medals! I went to college on the VA!
This is how my great uncle and aunt met each other. He saved her from a fiery area as she was an administrator and he was in the navy, they were both stuck until everything was clear , that’s how they got to know each other.
My granddad was a general in the Navy and told me about everything they had to endure when I was a kid. He regretted the war but was always a proud man. I miss you granddad ❤

Being at The Arizona Memorial, and seeing all those names of the entombed that are right under you; it was a somber experience. I will never forget it. Having heard the stories of what that day was like for a seven year old child, watching these planes flying so low, that you could look the pilot in the eye… that was unforgettable. Thanks for this. My father was 1st gunners mate mid ship on the Bb38 USS Pennsylvania the flagship of the fleet it was in dry dock for up grades was to be put back in severice on dec 6 due to a last minute problem it was keep in dry dock it was the first ship to return fire with first kills .if not in dry dock she would have been beside the BB 39 uss Arizona.
As Admiral Yamamoto said in the aftermath of Japan's successful attack and destruction of Pearl Harbour,"We unfortunately have reawakened a sleeping giant from its slumber."
The "lucky" bomb that killed the USS Arizona did not go down the funnel and explode in the engine room. The armor piercing bomb went through the forward deck to explode in a forward magazine.
Because 9/11 was an inside job....and didnt have the implications pearl harbor did...Pearl harbor awoke a Giant in the united states to fight the evil Hitler and the nazi party who wanted world domination.....The united states took action and was one of the main reasons hitler Lost the war....thats why pearl harbor is talked about more than 9/11....9/11 just sucked really nothing good came out of it. just a fake war for some money hungry corrupt people

Subsequent analysis showed the USS Arizona was destroyed when an IJN bomber dropped a 16-inch, fin-kitted shell that penetrated the ship's forward magazine. The newsreel also doesn't mention air-dropped torpedoes modified with wooden fins that enabled them to swim in shallow water.
I can never forget Pearl Harbor. That date is ingrained in my memory. I always know when it is December 7. But I am from far away in Finland. In those days my mother was running away from the Russian bombers over Helsinki. Those were the stories I was told as a child. I can never forget. I am 74. My life has turned me into something else than the loving of this kind of world.

Today is the 79th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. Let's remember this day as this day pulled the United States into WWII on the side of the Allies.
My grandpa was 10 hours from Pearl Harbor once the attack happened. They showed up the next day to help out
My grandpa was 19 at the time this happened, and grew up on a beef ranch in northern California. He enlisted in the army and was assigned to the air corps due to his small stature. I remember him telling me it was common for them to put the little guys in the airplanes because they weighed less than bigger soldiers. My family has literally hundreds of photos he took of other airplanes while flying his own during the war.

I had 2 great uncles on the Arizona. Nether made it out. Their names are on the memorial wall. Last name Daniels. Went to visit they’re grave this past summer.
Today is December 7th, 2021, My Aunts mother was 7 years old in Hawaii watching this happen, she said she remembered all of it, it's sad that this happened.
What makes this footage so rare is the lack of spin. It's a raw look into the destruction and devastation that occurred. This was likely unreleased at the time because at that time it was protocol to spin any footage towards American favor. This is a true gem.
The entire thing was spin. Did you catch the part about hundreds of dead civilians? They failed to mention that of the total 68 civilian deaths, most were caused by friendly fire from errant anti aircraft shells landing in populated neighbourhoods.
The American military's ordnance killed more civilians than Japanese pilots on that day.
In 1940, FDR ordered James Otto Richardson, the Navy's foremost expert on Japanese naval tactics, to relocate the Pacific battleship fleet to Pearl Harbor from San Diego. Richardson protested this relocation, claiming that Pearl Harbor was indefensible from an air attack, even travelling to Washington DC to personally make his case to the President. He was rebuffed in his arguments and reluctantly followed orders, over-seeing the transfer of the fleet to Pearl. In February of 1941 Richardson was relieved of command of Pearl Harbor. Memos dated to February of 1941 are archived in the Library of Congress and the Roosevelt Library that describe an attack on the fleet at Pearl Harbor and referencing specific ships that were sank. On December 7, 1941, 77 years ago today, 2335 servicemen and 68 civillians died when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor before formally declaring war on the United States, making the attack a war crime. 1100 men died on the USS Arizona alone.

Was just there on Memorial Day this past week with my family. It was the 60th anniversary of the memorial being opened. It was a very somber day but one in which i could share with a younger generation of family and have them experience and learn what the ultimate sacrifice for this country is about. And i did cry as well... RIP brave souls..
My grandfather got TB before he was set to be stationed on USS Utah. Call it divine intervention, but my heart goes out to all of the lives lost and the legacies that ended.

My father joined the Air Force on the day Pearl Harbor was attacked! My mother met him after he joined ! 6months later I was born in Houston Tx! He got assigned to Ladd USAF BASE in Fairbanks AK. He flew b52’s with the big red button ! He was assigned to Japan our over the pacific and based in China! He never told mom just where! His plane was sabotaged and went down on the last island over the ilusian islands off of AK! He wasn’t awarded the distinguished flying cross and his jacket was covered with ribbons and medals! I went to college on the VA!

This is how my great uncle and aunt met each other. He saved her from a fiery area as she was an administrator and he was in the navy, they were both stuck until everything was clear , that’s how they got to know each other.
My granddad was a general in the Navy and told me about everything they had to endure when I was a kid. He regretted the war but was always a proud man. I miss you granddad ❤

If you go to Pacific aviation museum in Oahu on ford island you learn a lot about December 7. There’s even a building with real bullet holes from the attack

Being at The Arizona Memorial, and seeing all those names of the entombed that are right under you; it was a somber experience. I will never forget it. Having heard the stories of what that day was like for a seven year old child, watching these planes flying so low, that you could look the pilot in the eye… that was unforgettable.

My father was 1st gunners mate mid ship on the Bb38 USS Pennsylvania the flagship of the fleet it was in dry dock for up grades was to be put back in severice on dec 6 due to a last minute problem it was keep in dry dock it was the first ship to return fire with first kills .if not in dry dock she would have been beside the BB 39 uss Arizona.
My grandfather was there and getting ready for church at the time of the attack. His ship was torpedoed three times on the way back to the mainland.
Something brought me here and I didn’t even know it was the anniversary. Rest In Peace to all the souls that were lost .

The "lucky" bomb that killed the USS Arizona did not go down the funnel and explode in the engine room. The armor piercing bomb went through the forward deck to explode in a forward magazine.

This newsreel reflects what was publicly communicated in 1941. Subsequent analysis showed the USS Arizona was destroyed when an IJN bomber dropped a 16-inch, fin-kitted shell that penetrated the ship's forward magazine. The newsreel also doesn't mention air-dropped torpedoes modified with wooden fins that enabled them to swim in shallow water.
They lied to me. This looks nothing like January 6th.

I can never forget Pearl Harbor. That date is ingrained in my memory. I always know when it is December 7. But I am from far away in Finland. In those days my mother was running away from the Russian bombers over Helsinki. Those were the stories I was told as a child. I can never forget. I am 74. My life has turned me into something else than the loving of this kind of world.
