I like the original plate. The one where the three men are standing/sitting, one smoking a pipe, looking out at the castle by the shore. The sky - overcast and upset. Like winter is in the air and the flakes come drifting down one at a time. The waves are 2-3' high, wind blowing coldly from the west. You can see the hunger in their faces, their body language... and you can feel the slight exhilaration at the thought of maybe getting a warm meal by a fire. Perhaps spending one night on a soft bed before heading out into the wilds again in search of fortune and glory.
"We didn't band together to save the world. That'd be like tryin' to shovel a mountain o' shite with a spoon, with more crap being dumped on all the while. Nah, me and the lads formed the Brothers for three reasons, 'though the rest of 'em'd probably insist it were only two and they'd beat the rest a' me good teeth out if they 'eard me tellin' you the last one." "First, for the money. Gives me no shame to admit it. Between the nobles, bandits and every other farker out there with a pointy stick to 'and, not a lot of career options about that're likely to get you to retirement age. If you're gonna die anyway, might as well die rich. Well, rich-ish. If you're lucky. Most aren't." "Second, to survive. Got all sorts in the company. Sigmund used to be a beggar 'fore we took 'im on, an' look at the man now. Swingin' 'round a man-splitter as tall as 'im an' lovin' every second of it. Once saw 'im cut clean through a greenskin warlord's neck with that axe. Shame about what 'appened to his eye, though. Bastard goblins an' their bastard arrows." *(spits)* "Still, Sig'd be the first to tell you 'e's done a lot better from us than 'e ever did from the beggin' bowl." "Which leads me onto the third reason. The one they'd rather not 'ave me spreadin', but on this one I say they can eat the damned crow in peace or go bugger 'emselves. I've done a lot for my boys over the years - the ones who survived, I mean - an' the least they can do give me the chance to get this off'f me chest. For the camaraderie. Big word for a sellsword, I know. Lot of folks wandering the roads these days, every one of 'em with their own reason. Caravannin', lookin' for work, runnin' away from 'ome, or from somethin' worse, which it usually is nowadays. Just . . . 'elps, y'know? To remember you've got people on your side. And that you can lend 'em a shoulder when they need it. Sometimes feels good to give as well as get." "Anyways, your round. An' if I find out you told anyone I said any o' this mush, you'll WISH we never turned up to kill those bloody undead that were clawin' at the town walls this mornin'." *- Captain Rumold, current leader of the Battle Brothers mercenary company.*
This whole thing is good, but probably my favorite part is probably 1:28-2:00 Love how the music builds and builds a bit more before settling down again.
A perfect fit for the game.
Battle Brothers is a low-fantasy setting game, so no uber mages, wizard like Warcraft 3 or Diablo. Like Lord of the Rings, aside Mage like Gandalf or Saruman.

This theme brings up images of broken heroes, lost brothers, and grim perseverance in a hostile and unforgiving world.
the music perfectly fits the game

Hearing this in the main menu never gets old
A really gloomy theme, reflecting the state of the game's universe. A masterpiece.
The attitude of this game gives of a feeling of a storm on the horizon.
Gives me feels man
reminds me of GoT, the fact that 90% of your men die fits too ^^
I can see that. It mainly reminds me of a book series called The Black Company.
@@1987MartinT What I named my first band of misfits :)
