One of my favorite things about watching your channel, besides the unbelievable things you build, which… i mean i could watch forever, but over time hearing the way you talk totally transform! Your confidence is so inspiring, and it’s growth over time is so palpable. Your self doubt at the beginning was not hard to watch, and truly relatable, but it makes your excitement over new challenges, and your confidence all the more meaningful. The true magic of craft, and the message of craft as well. Thank you for taking us all with you!

It’s always comforting to know that in this big world that other people have similar struggles. While never ideal that we have to deal with them, it helps me to feel not alone. My wife also has severe back pain and there are times where she can’t move much for a week at a time. And with 3 kids that can make for quite a difficult workload, but she is amazing and I love her so much.

In 2nd grade, our class made an entire Redwall Abbey out of tiny wood bricks. Our teacher was into "hands on learning", so he taught us about castles by having us build one the way they would have but in miniature. Redwall was chosen because our class was reading through the series. He was probably the best teacher I ever had

Man I so hope your wife makes a speedy and pain free recovery. I know two family members who suffer from migraine. For one, a change of diet helped loads (so cutting out suggar stuff etc), but the other had it on and off for years….turns out it was a tumour….luckily she’s fine now. Not trying to scare you or anything but a migraine that causes severe back pain, so much so that your wife is unable to move can’t be right….either way I hope she is on the mend soon.
I got into watching vids on dioramas after watching folks like Luke Towan and others ….which led me to looking at castles and other medieval stuff and low and behold your videos start popping up. I’ll never build anything like this, but am so engrossed at the process and the end product…it’s literally like going on a journey. (Ps your video editing and choice of music is bang on mate 👏👏👏👌)
Lastly, you got me looking to become a Laird now hahaha…(did you know there was a similar incentive except you were able to buy a spot on the moon - 🤷‍♂️ yeah me neither lol) not sure if you have ever been to Scotland, but once your wife is better I would heartily recommend flying to the UK and doing a trip up to Scotland….trust me you will all absolutely love it (especially some of those whiskey distillery tours 😉)
Awesome channel mate…you’ve just got yourself yet another new subscriber 👏👏👏👍🙏😎

Dear Jacqui and Neil, I'm not a doctor, but I took a *lot* of neurology in grad school. I ran into a case that sounds like Jacqui's once before - sudden onset week long migraine followed up with ongoing debilitating back pain - and I'm guessing 'muscle weakness' that is neurologic rather than muscular in origin? This other case was a woman whose cerebrospinal fluid was blocked from draining from the space around her brain to the space around her spine. It was diagnosed by comparing the differential pressure of her cerebral fluid to her spinal fluid followed by a CT scan. She was treated by placing a shunt between the peri cerebral space and the peri spinal space, so that normal drainage was restored. She made a full recovery (at eighty!) and is going strong. Her treating physician was Dr. Chowderly at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Washington. I don't know if this is what is going on, but I kind of hope it is, because it is very treatable in this modern age. Health and healing to you and your family.

I have a lot of respect for you and your wife. I have a degenerative condition of my spine, all of my lumbar discs and three of my thoracic discs are ruptured. This is causing Spinal Stenosis which is a narrowing of the spinal canal, compressing my spinal cord and causing me severe chronic pain. Chronic pain can be a debilitating and utterly depressing disease so I have empathy for both of you, as it affects your loved ones as well. I pray that she will find some relief and that her body will heal itself. Love your channel btw. I’d love to get into miniature building. The only thing that has been stopping me is the cost. What your wife and family are dealing with is so rough. I can relate to what it's like, I have CFS and Fibro and had a migraine that lasted 3 months, so I'm very familiar with pain. Distractions are the key to my sanity, I suspect it would be the same with your wife. Luckily my back problems are all due to muscle weakness and can be solved with care and exercise, I have so much sympathy for anyone with chronic back pain. I hope you have an amazing chiropractor and pain management doctor, and I'll pray for her recovery.

12:42 Ahh, I see you're a man of culture as well.
I really love that airbrush, not gonna lie.
Also, I love where this is going. You're yet again outdoing yourself.
And finally ... the whole thing with your wife hits right in the feels. I hope she'll recover, and soon. Nobody deserves to suffer through stuff like that ...

    Awesome build Lord Neal.
I hope your wife feels better soon, i know what it's like to live with constant back pain after slipping on ice in winter 2016.
I started having pains in winter 2018 that got so bad that by 2019 i couldn't walk for more than 10 minutes at a time and the only relief i got was lying on my stomach in bed. On 1 occassion i couldn't even walk at all, i had to crawl to the toilet.
No medicines ( even opiates ) could help with the pain and no treatments have ever been offered. In my case i have several problems in my spine, including degenerative arthrosis and no Dr can tell me what is causing my pain.
I wish Lady Jaqui better help from your doctors and a swift recovery.

I've tuned in to your builds frequently, and am always amazed by the quality you produce. What really catches my attention, is that you always manage to keep things real. You use products that (for the most part) anyone can get, and don't break the bank to obtain. Bringing in your family drives this point home.
I wish nothing but the best for you and yours, and I sincerely wish for your wife's situation to improve.
    All the best.

Me and math are like total strangers so when you did that little trick to make your stair steps.....mind blown!!! That was a great thing to learn. And THAT is why I watch so many different kinds of mini building....even at my age , I can learn a thing or two. Hell! I might even go watch the videos before this one, like you suggested..... maybe hahaha BTW this castle is AMAZING!!!

awesome work as always! i like to hide gaps/seams on scenery by (when possible) interlocking bricks so the seam looks natural or sometimes using greenery such as creeping vines on one side of the gap so when its together it hides the seam.. always enjoy your videos thanks so much for making them!
