    Some vinyl plank products are made to be installed with the pads left on and glued. Check with your manufacturer. On those plank I use pressure sensitive glue, full spread each step and hand roll them. I never use liquid nails on anything vinyl plank especially moldings or stairnose. It will eventually fail. I use sikaflex 11fc and it works amazing! Zero complaints or failures and I've been doing it this way for about 5 years. Still good video though. We just do things differently.

    How long do you leave the glue to cure before walking on it?
    Can I use a Vinyl plank with the rubber padding on or I have to remove it?

      @@FerozNasir-eq5ud you’re gonna wanna remove the rubber padding like we do in the video that helps the glue to stick better. You’re gonna want it to glue to set for 24 hours or however, long time says on the back of your glue.

    Im getting ready to do my stairs the same way. I was going to use loctite pl 400 subfloor construction adhesive. What is your opinion on that? Also to be clear ,you dont use nails with the glue ?

    • @everydayhomeimprovements9345
      @everydayhomeimprovements9345  Месяц назад

      If you have the backing on your flooring, make sure you remove it like in my video and they sell certain flooring adhesion go to LL flooring and ask them for the stair tread glue. It comes in cubes the PO 400 works but doesn’t hold long term and no nails

    If you do the rise first with the female lip to the bottom, when you slide your tread in it locks it into place and gives you a perfect corner.

    I’ve been researching and looking all day to see if I can just buy step nose overlay molding to cover the extended step lip and your video shows that I can! And it looks great. Yay! 😆 other videos I watched were more about molding the vinyl planks with a heat gun but that look way to time consuming to do. My stair lip is 1-1/4” thick, so you think a vinyl overlay molding will cover it? Not too many videos of how you did this but glad I came across this option.

      They carried a stair nosing at Lowe’s and Home Depot and you can also get them at LL flooring or any other floor supply. You just need to tell them if you have a rounded stair nose or square stair nose that does matter.

Will the sqaure bullnoise I get be able to be glued to the current rounded bullnoise. Nucore vinyl plank is the brand. Thanks for any info on this, for I will be diy this project for the firs time.

    How thin is the nosing? I am worried it'll be a trip hazard. Is there a way to thin that out a bit? Also, I didn't know they made the matching nosing with the vinyl flooring. I should go with this idea for my basement steps.

    • @everydayhomeimprovements9345
      @everydayhomeimprovements9345  8 месяцев назад +1

      The Nelson won’t be a trip hazard so it’s basically like 1/8 of an inch where it goes over the flooring. There’s also ways to do it where the flooring butts up to the nosing and then it’s a flush but I don’t have a video of that to show you please like and subscribe and if you want to be really Charlotte share and in return if you ever have any questions about anything around the house, feel free to ask and if I can help you out, I will.

    • @everydayhomeimprovements9345

      It’s only at 8th inch thick above the floor itself, so should have no problems at all, if installed correctly

      They break lose and need replacement. Tripping hazard or not they kind of ruin the look and feel of the floor. Flush nosing is the way to go. Well worth the $... ruclips.net/user/shortsQw7XCxT9Fus?feature=share
