    It is obvious you are putting a lot of effort into your birds and videos both I have to say is paying off well done, and so glad that pigeon has repaid you faith in it, the race returns seemed much better with regards to a team effort , lovely to see your wife outside with you this will help with her understanding of the time involved with them congratulations

    Your loft needs more air to come and go for your pigeons to stay healthy. I would put more steel mesh all around.

    Well done DAN, I did tell you many times that there is no better sight than a pigeon coming from a hight on a blow home folding it's wings back like a rocket, if you had you're go pro in hand you might had caught it. The 2003 cock life story could have went any of 3 ways he could have died in the basket, he could have infected you're entire team after you reintroduced him and killed the lot, and I've seen it happen, or he could got back 2 health and done what he has done, dint all ways tink you can nurse them back but deffo all ways try, the main ting is 2 protect the healthy numbers from 1 or 2 others, so please God you get no sickness this YB season DAN, you no you could have taken him from his hen as he was about 2 tread her just 2 puss him off/make him even more keen untill the races get longer and tougher, and you need 2 be carefully with his hen using her as a trapper if he comes first and you let his hen go the might do the bold ting on the landing board and not trap for you so be careful there, as for a warm muggy day, a hot day or even a cold day, there all ways going 2 need elecytrolights in the water on return regardless of The weather DAN , keep them baby's learning and as all ways ENJOY

    Dan have you looked into the roundabout system?
    It's a great method for racing Cocks and Hens for a small team flyer like yourself. Your two section loft will work well with just some slight alterations. My father and I raced very successfully on the system for several years before moving house gave us the room to add another loft and go on to full widowhood.
    Great to see Charlie there with you watching your birds return.
    Good to see your birds coming so well, and keeping the faith with your sick bird paying off.
    I had a similar incident with an injured pigeon very early on in my career, a Blue Janssen cock returned very badly injured and a smashed up broken leg. Most of the older fanciers told me to put it out of its misery as it would never be any good again. That bird went on to win the Cambridge Fed, and the Section in the Peterborough Fed and a top 10 position in the Open from Northallerton (4500 birds) as well as winning several other races in its career and he went on to breed many good pigeons. Taught me a valuable lesson, to keep faith with your birds and give them a second chance.
    Another great video mate, very entertaining as always.
    My Dad's birds are at Alencon in France today, for their first channel race in the BICC Club, waiting on the news of the liberation 🤞

    • @howtotrainyourpigeon
      @howtotrainyourpigeon  Год назад +1

      Thanks. International racing must be a different league. I've been moving the birds onto a roundabout system. I know some say not to change the bird's system midway through the season but I'm quite happy to chop and change until I find something that works for me. Most are happy with the change but a few birds are stubbornly trying to get back through their usual trap. Time will tell...

    • @johncallaghan8854
      @johncallaghan8854 Год назад +1

      @@howtotrainyourpigeon excellent, they'll definitely adjust to the Roundabout system throughout the season.
      My Dad gave up club racing, and now only competes in the nationals, sadly the fancy has really diminished in the Cambridge area, and the local club has a very few flying members, so he decided to to just concentrate on National races, his dream is to win it one day. He's come close and has several section wins and has managed 6th Open in a 5400 bird race, the best result of any fancier in the Cambridge area.
      Offer still stands for some young birds next season from our best, I'd love to see you flying some of our blood.
      Good luck for the rest of season mate, you're doing great. Sending them every week is definitely the way to go with yearlings (as long as they home in decent time) they need the education.
      Cheers
