I agree, a lot of people think this music is bad for the psyche but it releases anger and helps the victim forgive the victimizer(s) sometimes. Angry music helped me as a teenager exhaust my anger and get along with my peers.

The damage from severe child abuse doesn’t just go away it just disappears in day to day life. The second you remember or someone asks about your dad everything comes flooding back emotions and all even the fear is so fresh it’s like being there again.

The cycle of violence. This song is me! When I feel that rage build up inside of me. I will go sit in my car and listen to this song. One of the hardest things is breaking that cycle. I recommend taking a second and listening to their song called better Man. This band is one of those bands that gives me strength to make sure that my children never have to go through what I went through.
I got a chance to meet Chad at a meet and greet a few years ago. Told him that. He basically said that's why he does it.

Thanks sir!!!! My father taught me how not to be. Growing up I couldn't wait until I was big enough to fight back but he luckily died when I was 14. When I tell people my life was much better without my father they don't understand it. Great reaction and very insightful !!!!

Remember, to err is human, but to forgive is Devine.
Note: I just watched again and i got it. It reminds me of a song by Pat Benitar (Hell is for Children) It's about child abuse too. The songs are different sounding and recorded years apart. It's a different take on the same subject. Maybe i officially request the later on Patron next month.

      Lyrics.
      You pray for quiet,
Inside your head the screams won't silence
      I remember those days
The terror past our home, the fear that's in your bones,
It just won't go away, no.
The strangle holds, the insulting names,
The wound up shirt around his fist, the nose to nose beer stinking breath.
Thrown down onto the floor, so battered, bruised and sore
Choke down on the truth of it, and touch it until you break your neck
Hell's where I was born! Hell's where I was raised,
This hell is where I'm from and this hell is where I'll stay.
The hush is all I need, to hush the misery
The hush that belongs to me, like the hush inside of dreams
Just be still and pray, and let the noise just fade away.
      Retain to violence
Atop your heart like a secret closet,
      So no one can penetrate
You just can't stand the touch, affection weighs too much,
      You push everyone away from
      The reckoning! The bitter stings,
Whipped so bad I pissed myself still with a beating stub held belt
If this reminds you of home, you better know you're not alone
Hold the gun up to my head, I'll pull the trigger on myself!
Hell's where I was born! Hell's where I was raised,
This hell is where I'm from and this hell is where I'll stay.
The hush is all I need, to hush the misery
The hush that belongs to me, like the hush inside of dreams
      Just be still and pray
These are the memories. In me
You didn't want to know! You didn't want to know!
These are the memories we keep
We don't want to show! We don't want to show!
By now you need to know, (You're not alone)
Hush is all I need, hush the misery
Hush belongs to me, like the hush inside of dreams
Hell's where I was born! Hell's where I was raised,
This hell is where I'm from and this hell is where I'll stay
The hush is all I need, to hush the misery
The hush that belongs to me, like the hush inside of dreams
Just be still and pray and let the noise just fade away

I would be interested in what you think of the band Architects. They lost their principle songwriter/lead guitarist(and twin brother to the drummer) recently and their most recent album is about coping with losing a piece of ourselves when the people we love die. I would highly recommend the song Royal Beggars. Appreciate you man and have been enjoying your channel.

Music like this makes me so angry, but not because I hate the music. It’s more the context, I suppose. I myself wasn’t really physically abused, but one of my best friends actually lived through a lot, that nobody should have to go through. What’s worse, is that he’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, when in most other circumstances, you’d expect people to rage and rail against the world, trying to make others feel the same way he did, to make the world actually SEE him. Instead, he is one of the kindest, most forgiving people in the world that I have EVER met. I can’t tell you guys what he’s been through, because it’s his past, not mine. But yeah, it just goes to show- people have a choice in life as to how they react to situations like that, whether they want to believe it or not. As for me, I didn’t really have much in the way of a ‘nurturing’ environment, aside from my grandpa and my cat. I wasn’t really expected to survive past the age of 15, due to sickness, so my parents and sisters didn’t exactly waste any effort or time really bonding with me. I don’t like it, but I can’t say I don’t understand the logic behind it, either. But yeah, despite my childhood, my friend had it much worse. He has severe ptsd, anxiety, he gets massive night terrors, and many other issues. Luckily he knows that me and our other friends are here for him.
