Thank you for your Clear, Concise , Honest guidance 🙏 So Refreshing to know all the Realities you both share are "fair dinkum" . Much Love and Respect 💖
In terms of feeling safe..yes solo women traveler and I just listen to my intuition and move on if I dont feel right. Kept my stuff locked up and always felt safe.
Great common sense! As for the fear and safety issue, there is a saying “the only thing to fear, is fear itself”. I’m in my 70’s and have been travelling on my own off and on for 50 years, only had 2 “scary” incidents in all that time. I just removed myself from the situation very quickly. Have fun and ignore the naysayers.
Thanks guys. Great advice. As usual very motivating. We’ve got the car and van now. Just need to do some mods to the car and hopefully be out there soon. Safe travels
Thanks for the chat. We were on the road for 10+ years and would be back out there tomorrow, hopefully next year. A common question we get asked and probably you too, is what's your favorite place. I can never say one place, every place is different and special Keep up the passion. Bruce C
Thank you Bruce for watching and support. That is awesome 10+ years is an amazing accomplishment. Yeah we do get that a lot we do have a couple that stand out for different reason but you are right everywhere is still so beautiful in it’s own way. Thank you so much we are loving the journey and certainly not wanting it to end. 👍
Love your videos & good on you for the common sense advice. When travelling on those single lane black tops in Qld, we ALWAYS slow down or stop and pull over, for trucks & cars. We let the oncoming vehicle sit fully on the bitumen, that way they aren't chucking rocks into our windscreen. If anything we are spraying crap towards them & they give us the thumbs up for moving over. Double happiness.🙂🙂
Thanks guys another great one. I commented last time about us stopping after 3 laps and we've actually hated life after travel so were off again 😂 what l would like to say tho to new people out there ready for adventure take social media with a grain of salt like you guys said do what you want to do not what everyone else is doing. I don't have fb Instagram anything like that tho l am a sucker for RUclips. Anyways safe travels
😂 love that! Absolutely right comparison is the killer of all creativity. Social media might be a good tool to get some extra locations to see but honestly just getting out there and exploring this country and not knowing what is around the corner is pretty awesome. 👍 Yeah exactly the same personally I feel we do social media because we are meant to do it. To be honest, RUclips is so much more freedom and real to a sense. All the best guys and thanks again so much for the support. 👍
We did 10+ years of travel and had numerous theft and break-ins . The Top End was the worst including $5k of photography equipment stolen after breaking into our 4WD at the Darwin Casino after parking just 20 minutes earlier under security cameras ..the cops did nothing !!
Could you or your followers recommend some favourite websites, YT channels and books/maps etc. What sites do you use for the following; looking to free or pay camps, maps, reviews of places, things to see n do in the town you're approaching, is there farm/seasonal work sites for casual work etc Thanks for the video....my tip is always have your vehicle turned and clear for a quick escape should your gut feeling tell you something's not right eg certain people or the weather
Hey great question, most of the camps we find are on WikiCamps this app we use everyday for a lot of things. We use it to find attractions, caravan parks, farm style camps, free camps, public restrooms, dump point, portable water, parking area, rest areas, information centres and so much more really. We use google maps and hema for most of our directions and recommend a paper copy also. There are Facebook pages for work all around Australia some temp some a bit more permanent but there is a lot of work around everywhere. Hope this helps and all the best 👍
Very inspirational! I'm lucky. Will start travelling Australia next year at the age of 71. Will be doing it with a 4x4 and rooftop tent. The reason I'm lucky is that at my age, I can travel until I die! Don't have to worry about life after travel. Hahaha
Thank you Jason 👍 That really is awesome good on you, we hear so many people say they want to and just make up so many excuses so good on you for actually doing it and getting out there and doing it for yourself absolutely unreal! 👍
Every few months someone comes knocking on my van, or tries to open the door while i am inside. Usually it is someone living nearby (not necessarily anywhere near their house), and start arguing with me, questioning what im doing there, that it is illegal (it is not), and shouting and screaming that it is their street and they pay taxes so they have some holy right to be the only ones to use public land or streets
Hey great question, no we personally have never been pulled up or told off. We do try to camp in legal areas and have always look around for local ones that aren’t listed. Free camping can be hard to find in some areas for sure and sometimes it’s great to speak to locals and see if they are willing to share spots they would go to. Otherwise sometimes you have no option other than staying at a caravan park unfortunately.
Thank you! You guys are just awesome. 🙌
Thank you so much for watching and your kind words ❤️👍

What a shame, you work so hard for what you have to be just taken!

Yeah I don’t blame you at all

That is a shame you have to go through that.
Have you guys ever been pulled up (by cops or whoever) for camping illegally? And do you find sticking entirely to legal campsites restrictive?

No other mention of the random yabbie attack?
