    I am sorry about the muted part on the Single Ladies dance. I got a copyright notice so it was removed. I didn't want to remove that part though because it is the most iconic Kurt-Burt part for me.

    Burt Hummel is an amazing man, and an incredible father. He made mistakes as a kid, but he realized them and bettered himself for the greater good. I wish all parents were like him. I know everyone is different and that’s what makes all people unique, but it’s sad that parents/people like Burt are so rare.

    Total tears :( And for those comments saying that Burt should have been kinder to Finn over the F+++ slur, remember that Finn was going through his own stuff and kind of used Kurt to take it out on. Normally he was kinder than that but he said what he said. And Burt definitely is going to protect his son whom he has seen be bullied for far too long. But Burt also would openly admit when he had a shortfall and would try to be better. Always being honest along the way. The truth is there is no way to know how a punishment will fall. Burt saw his son being basically bullied again in his own home and he stepped in. I personally was shocked too at Burt's punishment of Finn but I realized he was being a dad to his son. Of course the shows course was NEVER supposed to go with Finn dying so unexpectedly. The real lift death of Cory Monteith was so heartbreaking :(

    I fully agree
    Though I love Keith Mars from Veronica Mars
    But Burt faces bigger challenges
    In the end of the day, Veronica was easier to love, being straight, pretty and smart
    Burt was raised in the environment where gays were treated horribly
    He changed himself for Kurt and defends him against everyone else

    "I Have Nothing" should've just been to/about Burt, just like "I Wanna Hold Your Hand"
    Having the intro play while they were talking means it was tied to them.

    To be honest, though, he's not a very good stepdad; the quarterback scene here proves it: he didn't hug Finn enough. Besides, he gave Kurt a graduation present here, but not Finn. Kurt always went first, just because he was Burt's biological son, not STEPson. And Burt was a little too tough on Finn in the basement, because he could've heard Finn out, not assumed Finn was equivalent to his teenage self. Especially when Finn said he didn't mean the f word that way, and that he considered Becky his friend, showing his respect for the girl he would never call the R word. It was an all or nothing case, regarding redemption over homophobia. Burt got all, Finn got nothing

    • @xeoney
      @xeoney Год назад +17

      About the whole f slur speech, I think Burt was right to be harsh on Finn. Kurt was already being and had already been bullied constantly by people for his sexuality, and his home was the only place he could feel safe, and Finn saying what he said took that away. Burt was right to show Finn that he would not tolerate anything like that.
      Also, didn't Finn call Sue's baby the r slur in later seasons? I may be misremembering, though.

    • @johnrainsman6650
      @johnrainsman6650 Год назад +3

      @@xeoney yes he did call the baby that word, and it was wrong , and so was the f slur. I’m just saying it’s hypocritical for Burt to give himself years to learn how wrong homophobia is and not give Finn any, kicking him out ultimately without. Hearing his side

    • @xeoney
      @xeoney Год назад +4

      @@johnrainsman6650 Maybe kicking him out was a little too far, but other than that I think he was right. Burt probably didn't have anyone to tell him that, so maybe he wanted to be that person for Finn.
      Also, I just rewatched that scene where Finn called Sue's baby the r slur, but it was different to how I remembered and I forgot he apologised. I should've watched it first, Finn did the right thing by apologising in that scene.

    • @johnrainsman6650
      @johnrainsman6650 Год назад +2

      @@xeoney and he did the right thing protecting Kurt from the two bullies in the f slur episode. Kurt didn’t appreciate it enough tho, if you watch “duets”

    • @juliet6200
      @juliet6200 Год назад +12

      I think it was implied that Burt and Finn had some sort of off screen talk about the f slur thing when Burt confronted Kurt about how he hadn't told him the whole story. Given the games he would take finn to and the time he would spend with him (so much so that Kurt got jealous) I think they did have a fairly good relationship the show just didn't have the time to explore that on screen. I mean, Finn took over Burt's shop! I don't think Burt would've done that for just anyone.
