    very nice build. what is the weight difference in the thrust tube compared to mylar?

    • @comeflywithmerc
      @comeflywithmerc  Год назад +1

      I’m sorry my friend I had nothing to compare it to as it did not come with one. Definitely 50 to 70grams heavier but the sound and response is mind blowing. She weighed in at 19.8 pounds total. With (2)-4000mAh 2s and (2)-6000mAh 6s lipo’s. The recommended CG is way too nose heavy. If you have a paved and long runway you will need it with the recommended cg. I found the perfect spot at 196mm from leading edge using the jig it came with. Good luck and always have fun my friend.✈️🙏

    Hey, great set of videos you have of this bird! I just acquired one myself and have a question or two: 1. It looks like you have maybe just a partial intake duct in this video, not going all the way to the fan as described in the kit. Is that what you ended up with, and if so, has that worked well? 2. What did you end up with as far as the LIPO capacities? I have almost the same setup planned. Almost identical except for a JP fan unit instead of the HSD. Thanks for your response. Newly subscribed!

    • @comeflywithmerc
      @comeflywithmerc  Год назад +1

      1st ? I cut the intake tubes just past battery tray and I did not install front nose shroud/plastic piece for air flow. You want good air flow over your batteries and plenty of air for your fan. 2nd ? I am running 12s (2) Admiral pro 6000 6s. I added (2)-2s 4000 G2 batteries for all electronics and perfect CG. The recommended cg is extremely nose heavy. I wanted to make a video on how to set up/modify your jig for the perfect CG. This can save you a ton of flights and time.

      Hey man, I’ve had this plane since last year and it’s a blast. To answer your questions I also did an “open-duct” system and cut the intakes short. It seems to enhance the sound but it definitely reduces efficiency. As far as the fan/LiPo’s I went with the JP hobby 12S 120mm and it’s been great. I used 5000’s to start but flight time was limited. I’m currently using 6200’s and plan to bring on some 7200’s next month. Hopefully this helped!

    Awesome job, looking good, what retracts are you using my friend?

    • @comeflywithmerc
      @comeflywithmerc  Год назад +2

      I ordered the ones from Motion RC I’m not sure why it’s $289 as a set so I bought everything separately for $30 cheaper and I still received the hardware. The nose strut on these retracts are way too stiff. I may replace with the one that came with the model

    • @comeflywithmerc

      I used Spektrum 2s receiver lipo batteries. It has receiver output and ic3 connector. I purchased ic3 opposite connector and connected directly to brakes module. The receiver connection to the light module. I used the same gauge wire for the brake module to ic3.
