I dont think I've ever gotten more than a 100 millisecond buffer with the GTR at Midway. Having no ghost as a reference in the earlier GTs really made the license tests SO much harder imo. Great driving!
The trick with S-4 is that the GT-R's peak power is actually quite a bit away from redline, so you can gain a lot of time by short shifting (Around 7500 rpm is good).
You're really good. When i was child it took a lot of time for bronze lisence and rome night was impossible. I remember in the '82736' try, one day the game gives me the "kids prize" a rare medal with green and yellow colors, and gave me the license :) Now, 26 years later, almost silver :')

Yeah, S-4 still the hardest S license in my opinion, took me a few tries too.

Getting all gold medals in Gran Turismo 2 is very hard to do on S-Licenses especially there is no "RETRY" option.
