In this video we look at the area between Thame Valley Viaduct and Stoke Mandeville.

As you say Karl, the construction of the Oxford Road diversion is very slow, as is the work onwards towards the Thame Valley Viaduct, the construction of which is going forward at a great pace.
Thank you Karl!
With the majority of the project cancelled, Leeds, Manchester etc. and even earlier than that, the HS1-HS2 connection and the potential spur to Heathrow, has the budget for the only phase left, Phase 1, been ringfenced? Now we know HS2 will definitely be built between Old Oak Common and Curzon Street, someone in Government must be able to provide definitive numbers as to the cost of OOC to CS. If the billions 'saved' by aborting most of the project are still swilling around in the construction of Phase 1, is it any wonder that nothing much seems to be happening very fast in this area?
The whole thing is a shambles. I want to know how much OOC to Curzon Street is going to cost me. And I'm not talking about the return fare.
"October". Did they give you that in writing?😃
Exerlent again great information but it is painfully slow progress
Cheers. I know, this section has stayed pretty much the same for a long time. I reckon it's to do with the bridge not being approved yet. Surely if that was finished and the road was in they would concentrate on the next phase.
Agree @@KarlVaughan ridiculously slow pace! You can tell they are on cost plus rather than a price for the job!
You see some inexplicable things on these videos, like the overhead power line centre frame at 0:20 that will stop the viaduct installation. Why the hell has it not been diverted underground yet? DNO dragging their feet?
I suppose it's not scheduled to happen yet. As to how they're going to redirect those cables is a bit of a mystery as I can't see it on the plans anywhere.
Great update Karl.
Just as you occasionally get obsessive HS2 h4ters in the comments (despite the fact that it's too far along to stop), I can't help but wonder if there's a few in the planning process who are wielding their little bit of power, in the futile hope that it will, somehow, result in cancellation of the whole thing! 😁
October this year seems a tad optimistic
Why would you want to stop this project, is is why Britain can't build anything because nimbys and people like you crying. But when it comes to a motorway you DON'T CARE STOP. BEING A SELFISH IDOT AND ACTUALLY CARE.
@cargy930 I was reading about the plans recently and it appears that the bridge is separate in some way to the overall project which is why it needs local planning permission. I still can't understand why it's taking so long though as these bridges are all designed to look similar. I wish I knew what was going on.
@kevinpowell210 That's what I thought!
