Your lady is a trooper. She learned a foreign language. She went through the process of being a citizen of a different country. She moved to a different country. She started a family in a different country. She’s a strong lady. She definitely deserves some respect. Most people today won’t even think about doing half of the things she was brave enough to do.
When we had an IH 1460, had a rock smaller than a baseball, make it into the clean grain elevator, where it jammed between the upper sprocket and the chain. Had to turn the chain backwards, by hand, until the rock dropped out. We were good to go after that. Happened in an area where we had goosenecked corn, due to flooding, and we were running the head low to the ground.
Rain can not be replicated with irrigation equipment! Besides that in a drought the Gov Crazies and the Fish Freaks would never allow creek or river pumping on a mass scale, all the local Farms would require.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Wishing you and your family the best. BTW Am I the only one has noticed that commercials for scammy games on the internet are now starting their videos with “OK SO”. I always knew you were a trend setter.
The vertical tillage machine after harvest is the best thing, all the nutrients sit in the lower 10 inches of the stocks, did you use the TR in the 2024 as well👍
Quite a few years ago we were picking ear corn with a mounted new Idea picker and we were in wind damage corn so we had the picker shoot touching the ground. Picked up and rock and no one noticed it and it ended up in the corn crib. Months later we were grinding the corn and the rock ended up going into the mill. WOW! That made a noise I'll never forget. It didn't damage the mill because we got it stopped in time. Close call.
After tilling a field for 100 years do the rocks ever stop coming up? I read elsewhere that frost brings rocks to the surface? Don’t know if that is true. On the dairy farm that my family had up to 1981, what I hated most was picking rocks and stacking bales in a hot dusty old wooden barn. I’d be coughing up the dust for several days.
Thanks Wes, Theresa. Just wondering if any of the standing dead ash trees would make usable lumber ? Ash can be a beautiful wood for cabinets and furniture. Aren't the Emerald Ash Beetles primarily a bark infesting parasite ? 👍👍😊
I know it’s expensive to install those huge irrigation systems… but can you use a sprayer setup to water crops in emergency situations? Get a water pumps and hit up creeks or something to pull water. Use a sprayer setup to water instead of applying chemicals. Is that possible? It might be time consuming but doing that once or twice a month in a dry spell could result in higher yields.
Maybe even buy an old sprayer for cheap and just open up the spray tips so they apply more water since you’re not having to precisely dose chemicals… and let her dump the water on.
1 inch of rainfall per acre is around 26,000 gallons. Per acre. Even mimicing 1/4 inch of rainfall with a sprayer is 6,000 gal/acre. You can really only do that with a slurry tanker setup continuously fed by one hell of a pump.
Ive been tryin to use rumble so much. I cant stand utube. Its so hard breaking away. Wes do you have a rumble acct? If not id wish youd post there. Will make the switch easier. Keep Hammering🎩🌄

I had the same experience. New Idea pickers were good about picking up down corn but they would grab rocks too.
@danw6014 yeah, the bottom gathering chains were literally two inches from the ground

Wes, Which gives you most satisfaction: Growing greenery or fixing machinery? Or, third option, seeing off Big Bill and the Reminders?
