      Hi Paul, how's it going? Thanks for the note. I won't be able to do that on this channel. My current employer does not condone me publishing original motorcycle content here.
      However, if that is something you'd like to see, I suggest you write them a message: mcmail@bonniercorp.com

    Adam, I like your comments, but I'd rather have seen the video starting where you ended it.
    The information was good of course, but I'd prefer to get your "real time" feedback in the beautiful roads OUTSIDE of the city! Thanks for being open to MV Agusta without being overly negative or positive. I always like how you aim to be unbiased no matter what you're reviewing. A true professional.

    Great review. I have always found Motorcycle Mag downright biased against MV to the point that I cancelled my subscription because their models were never listed in shootouts and other comparos. Glad to see somebody showing some appreciation for the brand and who hopefully will dispel some of the myths out there about MVs. After over 10 years, I still own 2 of the 3 MVs I bought and wish now I had kept the one I sold (2005 Brutale S).
    The Turismo Veloce is the latest addition to my tiny stable and it is an amazingly fun, nimble and fast machine. And it looks gorgeous and unlike anything else you see on the road. Unless you're mechanically inclined and well equipped at home, I think it's important that you live somewhat close to a dealer for the convenience of getting the bike serviced following the suggested maintenance intervals. I'd venture to say that bashers who lecture everybody on supposed lack of reliability have never owned one for any period of time.

    this video helped me buy a TV RC with SCS, for very expensive money, really nice to watch and great to drive! Spare parts supply super bad, maybe not even possible ..., MV dealers who refuse to change the tire 🤥 booked out ... Summary: If you buy an MV for expensive money and want to drive a lot, the first thing you bring is a second bike that works. If you pay a lot of money, you may also have certain claims, e.g. perception as a customer and e.g. the manual which is not very good, but ok demand from MV, e.g. on the functioning of the TC ... the dealer knows nothing, MV headquarters asks for contacting the dealer and does not provide any information, sales manager does not respond ... So questions remain open ... From experience I can only say that the competition is much better is in communication and appreciation of paying customers. In my opinion, MV is expanding the bad image with maximum arrogance and ignorance, too bad ... I'm glad to have another moped that drives great 👍

  • @olis790

    Interesting you note the longevity of the bike as 50.000km, what does that mean after 50k is a top end rebuild needed? I also read on Motorrad online the German magazine they do a 50 000 km endurance test of bikes and the previous TV800 did very well with less issues than some other bikes.
    What worries me about MV is is their ownership stable, will there be constant 'petty' issues you have to take the bike to the dealer to fix, will servicing costs be too expensive, will parts be easily accessible, will MV be easy to communicate with...
    Still remains one of my most wanted motorcycles ever!

    As an owner of more than one motorcycle and owner of an RC model of MV Agusta, I´ve to say, never had so bad service than from MV Agusta and that for several months until today, spare parts are not available. So it is good to have another bike to ride...

    Hey Adam! Great review as usual. I have been doing some research etc. on MV Agusta, and the urge to support Giovanni is strong. And I do like the product; this new Turismo Veloce is a real beauty. And I am fortunate to have a couple of dealers fairly close by.
    But am I really going to drop $24,000 on a 800cc boutique-ish ST machine? I am struggling with this. Would I actually choose this bike over my Triumph Trophy SE? Honestly, no I would not. The Trophy is a better bike for me. So I am not sure where this company goes from here. It's going to be a rough ride for them I think. I do wish them the best as it does seem to be a great bike.

    MV is trying to reinvent themselves, the 800 triple is being used in several of their models, and it will no doubt help them out of their financial woes. They had issues with their electronics and dependability, and as you mentioned, in America, service was a hassle. But as a boutique brand, they should stick to the Italian art that they are known for, and concentrate on quality control. People are willing to pay a premium price for an excellent machine, however, they wont be loyal to a company that doesn’t deliver on that promise.

    It's huge that they were able to come up with an automatic clutch system with no weight penalty. I know with Honda's DCT it can add around 25lbs if I'm not mistaken.

    • @MrKdr500
      @MrKdr500 6 лет назад +1

      DCT is an auto clutch and auto gearbox, can't compare it to just an auto clutch.

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 6 лет назад +3

      DCT adds a lot of weight and complexity, it's why MV decided it wasn't acceptable and sought out other options. They also stayed away from the performance sapping CVT systems. They linked up with Recluse and developed an electronically aided system for the bike that didn't add a lot of weight. Recluse has been doing successful things for the dirtbike community for a long time.

    The only negative to me is the way the bike sounds makes me not enjoy it much unless I’m breaking every law. A Ducati or V engine sound makes me feel like a bad ass even just cruising. I’m lucky to have Ducati and MV agusta dealers nearby but unfortunately Aprilia is 4 hours away. Still I’m thinking of getting a MV even though it doesn’t sound bad ass because it’s just a great feeling bike with light weight.

    MV Agusta aims for a 50,000 km (barely 30k miles) life cycle...hahahahahaha!!! This tells the whole story about this bike!

    • @Black_Gold_Saw
      @Black_Gold_Saw 6 лет назад +1

      Yeah I dont believe that.
      Honestly there is a german motorcycle channel, and they did 50.000km in 2 years and basically engine and valves and headers looked good and could easily do another 50K.
      They completely opened up the bike by the way. and the bike rode through winter salts and rain and dust. basically all weather.
      So that 50K lifetime....yeah not believing that at all..

    • @DearMajesty
      @DearMajesty 6 лет назад

      I'm not an expert on engines, but the way you speak about the "engine and valves and headers" leads me to believe you don't understand very much about them. Not saying it can't be done, but on average MV Agusta's have got to be at the very top of the list for unreliable bikes. I like them, but I don't have that kind of money....

    • @Black_Gold_Saw
      @Black_Gold_Saw 6 лет назад

      They used to be very unreliable indeed.
      Theres a f3 800 dyno video basically on top of videos when you search for: mv agusta f3. Its the matt black on the dyno.
      The dynodude says MV's dont explode more or less than other brands.
      MV went to Japanese electronics which helped them alot.
      I think it just sounds worse than it really is.
      1 bike explodes on every 100 build.
      is same as 100 bikes explode on 10.000 bikes. (this sounds less bad bequase of bigger numbers, but its exactly the same)
      here watch the video: ruclips.net/video/s0CORk3vCCs/видео.html

    • @Black_Gold_Saw
      @Black_Gold_Saw 6 лет назад

      btw im not saying salt enters the combustion engine, or gets inbetween the crankshaft and whatnot.
      Just mentioned it went through all kinds of weather.
      I should've commented in a different way.
      I do hope you understand what I mean.

  • @kidlatazul
    @kidlatazul 6 лет назад +1

    "They do have some durability issues.... They [MV] aim for a durability of around 50,000 km." They're kidding, right? A bike that costs new over 20,000 euros (that's over $23,000), and that's pitched as a tourer? A tour to them is, what, the 35 miles or so to Milan and back? Give me a break! The engine on my 2007 Honda VFR800 (now sitting at 17k miles) will just be nicely broken in when it reaches 31k miles (50k km). The MV is a nice looking bike and probably fun to ride, but absurdly over-priced and not the sort of machine I'd trust to take across the US or on a similar trip.

      David Jenkins you know Dave, I purchased the first Honda 1000 Intercepter sold in Delaware, one of only two sold in Delaware in 1984. Within 4000 miles the cams were shot.because Honda made a bad production process and ruined the 1000 Interceptors and most of the 750s as well. After I laid down $5K large for the bike and 6 months into my first year of ownership me and a lot of others were bike less waiting for Honda to make fixes so we could ride our bikes! I’ve owned 35 motorcycles since my first at 16 years old. Of many different sizes and makes.
      There is nothing wrong with that MV. You would never put the vfr between your legs again if you took a long ride on that MV and you would be proud to show it to your buddy’s after that ride if you owned it. For your second personal problem, go learn to fix your own, stop thinking someone else needs to do it for you.

    I don't understand how anyone can take MV Agusta seriously in a touring segment? Their motorcycles are downright unreliable...high maintenance, total pain, and complete nightmare. I know a guy who had two 675's grenade pretty quickly and the factory support was zero. Whoever is considering this thing for any kind of touring must seriously be out of their mind or have money out the ass or like spending time broken down on the road or on tow trucks. Ducati's are one thing and honestly not that bad especially recently after VW group bought them, but MV Agusta is on a completely different level.

      I have 14,000 miles on my 2015 dragster rr and did a certified "saddle sore 1000" I have had zero problems so, Im wondering where you get your information from..I am on the original clutch/chain/spark plugs etc..

    • @DearMajesty
      @DearMajesty 6 лет назад

      My comment is going to come off as rough, but I honestly believe you are lucky to not have had your engine go kaboom. 14k miles is a decent amount of mileage for a 2015, but in terms of longevity it is comparatively nothing. I would expect any modern motorcycle to still be on the original clutch/chain/spark plugs/etc. at 14k miles and just 3 years old. That's not even the first major service (valve clearance check/adjustment) for any major motorcycle manufacturer so I would hope that it would at least last that long, but sadly I've heard otherwise.
      I get my information from friends, real-life experience, Facebook, and RUclips (this video itself). Adam Waheed here mentions that MV Agusta aims for a 50k km. (31k miles) life cycle....that's hardly past the first major 26.6k service on any road-going Yamaha.
      Honestly, it's a small company and you have to know what you're getting into...at one point MV Agusta let its license lapse and was not even allowed to sell motorcycles in California. They have been teetering on the edge of bankruptcy for some time and forget cost or time for parts. Who even knows if parts will be available period in the future. This article sums up my thoughts pretty nicely about the MV Agusta brand....
      www.motorcyclistonline.com/mv-agusta-slips-under-again
      However, they do make beautiful motorcycles. Unfortunately, I'm not solely all about looks.

      I just had a talk few days ago with a fellow dutch rider, who had his yamaha r6 blow up twice. within a year I believe.
      Now lets be fair that engine design is 10+ year old and has thousands of users around the world, and a whole lot more than MV F3 users.
      Basically 2012/2013 models suffered alot from this, but definitly have improved over time.
      And I believe that you need to warm up the engine completly before cranking throttle. And alot of people fire their bikes up and instantly do 10.000 rpm throttle blips.
      Thats one way to make it blow yes yes...

    • @DearMajesty
      @DearMajesty 6 лет назад

      I'm highly doubtful of that. The 2012/2013 models are no different from the 2010+ models. Early 06/07's had quite a few reported cases of reported failures, but '08+ (major update) has been quite reliable. Motor was likely abused, but your story sounds made up anyways.

I spent a lot of time on the internet before buying a MV AGUSTA and bought my dragster without ever sitting on the seat or seeing it in person. I am in the process of selling it and buying a KTM Super Duke GT because I want to do more long distance touring. I read all of the negatives about it and I am having second thoughts, more problems than my Dragster RR supposedly has... this is real world testing lab style not some internet garbage stories.. ruclips.net/video/s0CORk3vCCs/видео.html
