@anonghost or a powerful tool when freedom of speech means the richest get to speak the loudest, and silence opposing voices. It sadly works both ways, just look wt China's investments into western media 😒
The most obvious and direct sign that a communist country suppresses freedom and the issues that brings, is in their product replication . By only copying technology it leaves no room for true improvement . Where creativity is diminshed then the quality of products and people will suffer. It's essential for growth and improvement. Development of new innovations can only be facilitated where creativity thrives and is accepted. Creativity intimidated the communists as it leaves doors open to new narratives and ideas. So the idea was to copy all technologies and products from the already creative. As a creative analytic ,I notice a distinct lack of or seriously hindered sense of what creativity even is amongst them I've worked with and dealt with. It's a very linear experience. In retrospect, it had also limited the potential profits I could have created because my creativity was limited confided to certain limitations within the company. It would be the death of a true artist to try exist in such a place. They don't like creativity because ultimately it can lead to new ideas and thinking outside the way of communist thought
It's a back hand compliment. He's saying Americans are hypocrits and find creative ways to justify their hypocrisy. Like groveling at the feet of a communist country yet being pro democracy.

Since season one Matt and Trey were some of the very few creators that completely stuck by their art and apathetic or directly opposed to pandering to those with influence and power. One of my favorite things they did was when they just started, and this is when they would need all the endorsements and influence they could buy as South Park's future wasn't a given, was to put celebrity guests as non speaking roles or playing animals (like George Clooney plays a regular dog who only barks on an episode). And according to them it wasn't to give into the execs or the actor's desires but because they thought it be really funny to have a big name on the episode even though they were essentially doing nothing and unrecognizable, as a parody of guest stars appearing on shows. Even classic shows like The Simpsons, which was considered counter culture, still compromised for outside influence and added guest stars (though they did well to make unique characters for them instead of just boot licking like they do now) or concepts if pushed enough by those with power to make the execs happy. Thankfully South Park is still great now because it'll be a sad day when the show ends and there's no one with that level of influence and cultural reach who is willing to laugh in the face of authority and stand by what they say. I'm sure they celebrated their ban in China as a an achievement.
roy tilia well China reassured the international committee and Hong Kong that they would let them function separately for another 60 years. Then they broke that promise and started violently suppressing anybody who objected. So yes, it is different, very very different.
@@guyonearth that is true. China has an authoritarian government which is actually quite the opposite of communism. Communism actually would give its citizens the power over factories and production, instead China's government has a lot of control of that. The CCP is communistic only by name.
@@PR2k9 Your right. But just like every communist nation, china promised it's people communism and then turned it into authoritarianism. This is what has happened to every country that had turned to communism. This is because you have to give your individual freedoms to the government for the betterment of your society as a whole. The problem is that the government them has complete power over the populace and power corrupts. This will keep on happening as long as "communism" exists. Just like anarchy, communism as an ideal is a myth. Human nature will never allow either to truly exist.
@@jwpilgreen Communism could exist, but not through government. Communism may work better through a non-profit business, workers would work supporting their livings, and if it fails- it fails.
@@Chilltothend That's the problem. I'm not saying the ideal is necessarily flawed. I'm saying human nature is. We abhor a power vacuum. A nation must have leaders, if only to deal with outside nations. And leaders have power. And power corrupts. Let every worker have an equal stake in the company and those on the business side will find a way to make more than those on the labor side because they control the money. They control the power and power corrupts. Also if you and twenty people start a company and you each put in the same amount of money you should all be equal partners. If you start a company, put in all the money, time and effort, and hire 19 other people, are you saying you would be willing to give each of them equal stake in your company regardless of the fact that they have done nothing yet to earn a piece of your idea, your time, your effort? By only copying technology it leaves no room for true improvement . Where creativity is diminshed then the quality of products and people will suffer. It's essential for growth and improvement. Development of new innovations can only be facilitated where creativity thrives and is accepted. Creativity intimidated the communists as it leaves doors open to new narratives and ideas. So the idea was to copy all technologies and products from the already creative.

@@PR2k9
Your right.
@@Chilltothend
That's the problem. If not, then you are no better than the rest of these capitalist pigs.

China bans all kinds of content from the West.
