Great video. I didn’t know they were working on battery powered welders. I don’t need one but it would be great for a barn that doesn’t have power yet. I am impressed with the battery life. I can see so many applications for such devices. Congratulations to ACOPower.
Hobart had one about 15 or so years ago, the TREK 180. Nice little machine, but good God was that thing expensive. At the time I think it was around $2000.
I am totally impressed! That little thing would be so handy for me! I would love to own one. It’s nice to see a welding machine being revived by an actual welder that knows what they’re talking about. Great video!
I am a shade tree welder and this is perfect for all the volunteer work I do, there never power where I am fixing a fence, security bar and more… thank you for the demo
That is a nice piece of kit. I work at a steel mill. This would be nice for those jobs that require a bit more mobility in the type of repairs we need to do. Cranes, rail, breakdowns. I like it.
What a great way to work remotely, looks like it would handy for anyone that needs to weld where you don’t have a shop or a convenient power supply! Your walking the cup welds look great too.
This would be useful in an agricultural repair setting; fences, small to medium equipment, etc. I think there would be a role as a general mobile repair welder. Thanks for the continued great content. Long time subscriber.
Purchased a Fronius Accupocket 150 about 2yrs ago. Nifty unit. We use it all the time to weld out on the floor without plugging in. Works pretty awesome for welding dock plates
That right there is something I would like to be in the drawing for something like that could get me started on a great path for doing mobile welding...
I’m all about these education videos, thanks for what you do! O.G. Jody and you have helped me out tremendously! And that machine is a friggin machine 😅 sheesh
Love the idea of a battery powered welder sure beats dragging around the big gas/diesel welder for just a small project love the video and love your guys content
Would’ve been nice for sure, I remember throwing welding machines, torches, saws, grinders, you name it overboard after deployment offshore before we came into port. What a waste.
That mini is perfect for what I need for ranch being off grid on solar. My old trusty Lincoln gas powered welder took a big dump on me when the connecting rod broke. I bought a no name suitcase Flux core welder for a good penny. I can weld for 5 to 8 minutes and time charge. I'm definitely going to be reading up on these battery welders.
I’m no professional but out here on my property I Weld on fence pipe and gates all the time for me an my neighbor’s. I’ve setup a small trailer that hooks to my sxs that has a welder a generator and all my tools. It’s crazy to think that the bigger unit could replace that and still run grinders and everything else
I would love to get one of those little battery operated welders.Since most my work is out on the field, I wouldn't have to worry about where to plug into, or carry a generator with me.
I cant believe that little welder ran as long as it did. Being that we are moving in the direction of everything being battery powered those guys might be one of the next big welder names out here.
The big one is pretty sweet its really nice it doubles as generator with an RV 30 amp outlet, could almost justify buying as a battery generator only with the added perk of being a welder.
Impressed with the welder, over 40 sticks and still going. I would be curious how the batteries last after many cycles if they still have the same capacity or what percentage drop in degradation they have. Good video.
That's an awesome welder. I think battery power is the future it's so cool not to be tied to the "grid". I would love to win this and power it with my homemade solar set up 👍
The Fronius can run 6010 with ease & the reason it has a smaller battery is to make it more user/fatigue friendly for carrying it around, plus it can also be run whilst being plugged into the mains power.
Fronius pocket welder is smaller and does not last as long but we use them in our powerplant saves so much time in setting up an XMT and u can plug in the charger and weld with it charging if nessasary we use 60 70 80 90 309 and inconel we love them
Now you need to compare this to the ESAB and Fronius battery models. This is a crap TIG welder. If you want a TIG welder, get one. A warning about using coiled extension cords. These things say to pull the cord fully out before using. If you’re just using a drill or something very intermittently, then ok. But if you’re using a 9 or 11 amp tool and particularly using two at once, you’d better read the max rating and pull the cord out entirely. The reason is that a cord is derated by half when coiled because of the lower dissipation of it when coiled. Cards can literally melt. When in a case, such as these spring models, it’s even worse. I had a contractor burn out mine. Just keep it in mind.
Sweet looking machines that certainly performed well. Nothing fancy, but the ability to bring the machine to the work location without needing a ginormous rig (or a 1/4 mile extension cord lol) is a great option for around a farm or ranch.
How long does/could that battery last? Meaning how long before it breaks? Can you find replacement batteries? I will stick with the gas powered generator when i need to weld where there is no AC power!
@@ACOPOWER we are able to use battery tools an gas plus 120v/240v/460v welders right now in intake/fresh air areas, but they are big an hard to get around, but the mobility of a product like this would make our job a lot easier cause we a limited to access to a electrical source in different parts of the mines, im sure once underground mining companies learn of this product they will began to invest in what appears to be a great tool
Thanks for the demo from Africa. Quite impressive for battery powered welders. Could be more economic in the long run than diesel powered equivalents. That is if battery life and machine economic life can last into the long run. I wonder how many recharge-decharge cycles can the units take. I would definitely NEED one because we often have now grid power in Africa.
I think its close to 15 years ago now, but Hobart had their own battery/120v wire feed welder, it was only for flux cored. Problem was the cost. I think back then it was well over $1000, I think it was pushing $2000. Hobart TREK 180 if anyone wants to look into it. It could've had a lot of potential, I think battery technology back then just wasn't where it needed to be for it. That and the high price point for it. I think off roaders were one of the targeted groups for these things. Charge it up and take it with you on the trail, in case you break a mount.
Hard to believe 40+ rods and it’s still going on that charge. It would be great for a Mobil mechanic who doesn’t have room on his rig for a engine drive set up
Beats trying to stuff a 4K genset, FC Lincoln and gear in my little 48" loader bucket to do steel gate repair around the ranch. the mini and a small generator is all I need to stick weld.
Great video. I didn’t know they were working on battery powered welders. I don’t need one but it would be great for a barn that doesn’t have power yet. I am impressed with the battery life. I can see so many applications for such devices. Congratulations to ACOPower.
Fronius has been making them for a while. very nice units, but like everything they make, its big $$$$$$$
strongest one ive used yet.
Hobart had one about 15 or so years ago, the TREK 180. Nice little machine, but good God was that thing expensive. At the time I think it was around $2000.
I hope they have enough built-in capacitors to limit the load or pull on the battery
I definitely need one of these. Modern technology is bad in many ways, but it also has it's perks.
I am totally impressed! That little thing would be so handy for me! I would love to own one. It’s nice to see a welding machine being revived by an actual welder that knows what they’re talking about. Great video!
Wow those battery operated welder work great!
Wow I didn't know battery welders were getting better. The only welder I knew was the esab DeWalt battery welder. 😊
I am a shade tree welder and this is perfect for all the volunteer work I do, there never power where I am fixing a fence, security bar and more… thank you for the demo
Cool little welder. It would definitely be great on the hard to get to remote jobs!
That is one awesome welder and I can see all of the possible scenarios where it would be greatly needed!
That is a nice piece of kit. I work at a steel mill. This would be nice for those jobs that require a bit more mobility in the type of repairs we need to do. Cranes, rail, breakdowns. I like it.
nice welder for off the grid very impressive
What a amazing welder i want one !!
Impressive for sure. That Mini is perfect for all the odd jobs out in the field that a person runs into all the time.
Nice! I'm always interested in new technology. For a portable welder, one of these would be a great asset!
What a great way to work remotely, looks like it would handy for anyone that needs to weld where you don’t have a shop or a convenient power supply!
Your walking the cup welds look great too.
That's a handy off-grid welder.
I would love that battery welder! It would be sooo handy in the field. 🤌
Very impressive little battery welder! I am so impressed with how far the technology has come with these units. Good review!
This would be useful in an agricultural repair setting; fences, small to medium equipment, etc. I think there would be a role as a general mobile repair welder. Thanks for the continued great content. Long time subscriber.
Cool little welder, I'd like to add that to the collection
You absolutely should !
I wouldn't have thought it possible. It looks like a great option.
powerfull sucker

that LionWelder Mini would be awesome and easy to travel as needed. thanks for sharing and the giveaway.
That little welder is damn impressive. I gotta get me one
Is available and we ship continental U.S ! Get the early bird special price ! All units have 3 year warranty too !
The Navy needs to invest in some of these life would be so much easier
There are regulations preventing them from Made in China.
We actually have clients that is prior HT. 😂
Would’ve been nice for sure, I remember throwing welding machines, torches, saws, grinders, you name it overboard after deployment offshore before we came into port. What a waste.
"I've hit MY duty cycle" - good one, Austin.
haha thanks.. i didnt wanna weld no more...
Looks great. May have to start saving for one of these!
Get the early bird special , could be a great investment ,we offer 3 year warranty !!
Wow I'd like to have a welder like that
That’s impressive!
Gotta love that Texas heat! Slick welds man
Man that’s awesome, I could use that for build my fence
Looks like a nice welder for the money. Cheaper than a Fronius or Vanair in the same category.
That little battery welder looks sick! I have so many remote jobs that would be so awesome to have that for!
I wasn't aware a battery power welder could do that much work. nice to see honestly
Pretty impressive capabilities for sure 👍
Impressive machine using battery power. Would be great to have one for repair work in the field.
Thank you for your comment; we look forward to having you as a customer!
I’m very surprised! My first time to see a battery powered welder! God bless!
lol where are you from

could be the next big thing
40 rods!! That was impressive. Nice work and great testing.

awesome set up for offgrid
That is why we design this product ! I am glad you think our product is awesome!!!
And here I was thinking of buying a big UPS to power my smallest welder.
I would love to have that welder! Very impressed with those battery powered welders!

Nice little welder!
just finished welding school and looking at welding machines. this thing looks promising
could be the one for you
I like the portability of the battery powered welder.
I cant believe that little welder ran as long as it did. Being that we are moving in the direction of everything being battery powered those guys might be one of the next big welder names out here.
That would be great for moble work when noise and power are issues
Absolutely amazing how capable and lasting these welders are
That’d be great as a portable unit for mobile repairs!

Nice little welder - subscribed!
Thanks for the demo!
that's a crazy battery welder!
Pretty amazing. Love the welder and love your vids teaching and testing
Those welders are pretty awesome. I didn’t realize how far battery welders have come in the past few years.

Cool welders battery power certainly coming a long way
another video again tomorrow Austin,
you gotta find the limits👌
Would be handy for some areas where I won’t have an outlet

Hum, I know I need one like that!
That is an amazing little welder
Well would work in South Africa
Wow, beautiful machine. Lasts way longer than ESAB or Fronius but of course much heavier than at least the Fronius. Thanks, great video.
The Fronius can run 6010 with ease & the reason it has a smaller battery is to make it more user/fatigue friendly for carrying it around, plus it can also be run whilst being plugged into the mains power.
Lion mini, fun little demo, thanks
That little welder is perfect for welding fence on the ranch. It could probably weld for days.
You can also charge it via solar !
That light would be perfect for a utv welding rig setup i would like to see how it handles 6010/8010 would love to use that on some pipe fence
Those are very impressive. I can't believe it burned that many rods and barley moves.

lots of field job capability in that thing!

@@ACOPOWER wow. And very tempting tbh.
They're actually pretty impressive and they would be super nice to have!
Im impressed
Wow awesome battery welder
Holy Hells!! A battery operated welder that outlasts the operator!?!? That is incredible.
This will be excellent for African countries, because sometimes electricity is a challenge ❤❤
Especially here in South Africa we have this thing called load shedding. you will end up not finishing the job you started because of electricity
i sense some more snowboard welding videos in the future ...
