    Quite surprised! This is my main tuning, my main electric and acoustic that I've been writing songs with for over a decade are tuned drop B. Sweet riffs you made there, very inspirational.

    3 year old lesson. gut good. i played in drop for a long while too. you can even go higher if you include the 4th string. a lil lighter vibe. you can make some nice dissonant chords with open notes too.

    Great lesson! Ive been using that "ugly" chord (which i think of as the "brown" note) and the octave + half-step chord heap over the last few months. Try moving from a panic chord to chugging the brown note and feel the earth cave in :-)

    Hey man. Great vid. Question for you. So I've been on the guitar for a couple years now. I've been playing on a 7 string since the beginning of the year. I just learned this song by Spiritbox called Holy Roller. Looked up the tabs, got the song down. But the tuning for that song is a drop F# tuning. And so to get to my question: One of the things that has confused me the most is how on earth are guys writing and constructing chords in drop tunings? And also would you have to learn new scale positions to utilize a scale? Any assistance would be great lol. Thanks :)

    Dude, why not drop-D then 99.9% of people watching (may) only have to change one string! Otherwise they’ve gotta find some new strings and get their guitar set up just to follow your video. Have a heart for us poor folk with only one goddamn guitar!

    • @UVjoint
      @UVjoint 5 лет назад

      One potentially simple (but a little expensive solution) is a drop pedal. I use the Digitech Drop. I'm guessing you (like me) follow many different bands, and they range in tunings from drop-D to drop-A or E-standard to C-standard. I don't think 1 guitar with the same set of strings can change between so many tunings.
      I'm sure that's not a professional solution, but for a bedroom guitarist like me, I think it's pretty useful.

    • @danielpriest1142
      @danielpriest1142 4 года назад

      Besides all the concepts he showed in the video, will work with drop d as well, exact same shapes and everything. It's not really about the notes he's playing but the note intervals. Drop d and drop b have the same intervals between all the strings.
