@stefrotiedits I usually play more rock/metal style playing, this was really the first and only go at dnb playing. For this song I slowed it down about 20 bpm in pro tools and listened to it for about 4 days till I memorized it then just sat down with a camera and went for it. So for any cover you might wanna do of dnb I'd recommend that. I'd just practice some hand/foot speed exercises at a lower volume so you practice your control more. makes it easier to play stuff like this for longer
@Droplifter this was my first time trying to do a style like this, took about 6 hours of playing it on repeat till I could memorize it all the way through. It was a fun challenge though! I'll probably do another noisia tune in the next month or so once I settle on a song
Aww. It's been over three years, and you still haven't broke the 100k viewer milestone. You just DESERVE more views, there simply ain't no other drummer better than you!
@Kanga272 it was my buddy who showed me the song, said it had some crazy beats in it so I heard it..thought it could be cool on a drumset and 5 days (and an unhealthy amount of listening) later this video was made.
I was literally thinking just now that it would be awesome to hear a cover of Shellshock. looked it up on youtube, and sure enough someone did make one! :D Amazing work!
@jarogunit there is a good amount of short double bass rolls during the "drop" sections. I tried my best to match what I felt the bass drum sound would be. unfortunately I didn't have the mic setup I have now to properly display it...I do for my other noisia cover though. my kick drum is definitely in the mix of this though, I just also wanted people to be able to tell what the part of the song is so they could see how my drum part correlates with it.
If you'd like to do some Noisia songs again, I would love to take a shot at mixing your drums and replacing the originals with them. So that you're not playing together with the original drums but you're playing instead of the original drums. And of course I'd try to make your drums sound as big as possible to match the sound. I think it would be an interesting experiment. I love your playing. I'd love you to do more of this kind of music.
damn... I remember when this song came out and I heard it for the first time... I still have goosebumbs on the rhythmical arrangement of it... damn impressive.. and you kick-ass those drums man! awesome vid
@tubbylardman if I had it. this video was shot before I was able to multi-track my kit so the kit audio is basically a lot of cymbals and some snare with a little kick mixed in. I have the track there so you can hear I'm playing along with what you hear on the track. If this was just a drum mix you wouldn't know if I was playing what's on the song or not unless you memorized the song in detail, and it the quality would still suck. this was the best I could make at the time.
I don't have the original audio or video files or I would! I did another noisia video where my drums were all mic'd rather than this (just kick and room mics) so it's more clear.
@esacbw this is the only video I put a click track with the track as well. not cause of the spaces but when it drops into those faster parts it helps to stay dead on with every hit, and for a song like this where there is so much goin on anything shy of that would've sounded like crap. In every other video I play along to the track only, and I make it loud enough in my ears that I'm basically air drumming to the track... so if my hands and ears don't match up I know I'm playing it wrong.
@SHAFTMASTATWEAK no, unfortunately cause my mic setup I can only go so loud before the cymbals just dominate the mix so I try to keep it about 60/40 drums:track. On the next noisia video i'll probably use a smaller kit so I can mic it better and do like a 75/25 mix
@TimMc333 in this vid...drums: pearl reference 22x20 kick, 8x7 rack, 10x9 rack, 14x14 floor, 16x16 floor, steve ferrone sig series snare, pearl 13x3 brass piccolo side snare. pearl 2000 series hardware, dw 9000 double pedal, pearl roadster throne. cymbals left to right: 14" a custom mastersound hit hats, 19" z3 rock crash, 8" a custom splash, 22" a custom ping ride, 18" z3 crash, 9 1/2" zil-bel, 18" a custom china, 10" guitar center bin china...? evans, remo and aquarian heads used...
I was wandering if ... Could you make a new video of this one but this time with you pedal video camera filming it??? dude your like a clock man , i have been watching your videos and jojo mayer's videos too... you guys rule . keep up the awsome work ben!!
Dude literally OBLITERATES one of the best dnb on actually drums ... absolutely BEAST BENNIE!! if people knew how difficult and skilled he is even playing... dnb timing is super difficult to master. Like Harder than polyrhythm jazz funk 10x... man literally played their own track better than the drums could ever Be PROGRAMMED for real. Fucking good stuff here mates bravo Ben
He's literally got the snares tuned the same somehow and not sampled what was done with a digital frequency adjuster he tuned with a real drum no sampling. What is there 3 snare drums he's got perfectly in tune with the song... that's insane talent dude
He's hitting 3 different snares and stopping 3 different cymbals at the same time like is this dude an AI? Or one of the most talented drummers on earth. Lmao !!
Like did he literally buy this entire kit somehow tuned exactly like the actual track and cymbal sounds just for this song, ..... if so it was worth it. Just getting this thing tuned how he did would take me days and how he played it around 10000 takes after 10 years of drumming
In my opinion THAT is what makes a good drummer. Some awesome dnb tune played on his drums. a Song i would love to hear would be Netsky's No Beginning. i really would love that.
Dude you’re literally splitting atoms with your drumming
@stefrotiedits I usually play more rock/metal style playing, this was really the first and only go at dnb playing. Would you try Noisia:Stigma as well?
Atomic clocks ain't got nothing on this guy's timing
Godlike!
As precise as Japan's rail timetable.
you actually got it note for note. very impressive
+Jackson Kiernan yeah that's what impressed me the most, how he perfected this.
after listening to the original song i just had to watch the drum cover for it when it came up as a result. GREAT JOB!
@Droplifter this was my first time trying to do a style like this, took about 6 hours of playing it on repeat till I could memorize it all the way through. It was a fun challenge though! I'll probably do another noisia tune in the next month or so once I settle on a song
This could quite possibly be the greatest thing I have ever heard...
They said it - Mind. Blown.
Incredible!! Flawless.
WOOOW AMAZING!
Aww. It's been over three years, and you still haven't broke the 100k viewer milestone.
You just DESERVE more views, there simply ain't no other drummer better than you!

So AWESOME ! respect !
Pure awesomness!!

This is not a regular drum cover! This is godamn extraordinary!
WOW! this guy had every drum hit, fill, cymbal trap right! that is what i call a great drummer!

Aargh, I'm still getting chills when I listen you playing this song!!
That. Was. Fucking. Dope. As. Shit
one of the best tracks u couldve picked very epic :D
@jarogunit there is a good amount of short double bass rolls during the "drop" sections. I'm always really impressed with people who do breakbeat type stuff on a kit. Great video!
If you'd like to do some Noisia songs again, I would love to take a shot at mixing your drums and replacing the originals with them. damn... I remember when this song came out and I heard it for the first time... I still have goosebumbs on the rhythmical arrangement of it... damn impressive.. and you kick-ass those drums man! awesome vid
You made this look a lot easier than it actually is! I could never quite get the double bass hits to quite match up after that first drop 🙈
You're legit not even human to do this and Moonway Renegade.
Bet you couldn't do Noisia's 'The Tide', or Limewax's 'Scream War'. :D :D :D
@OwnedRL you sir, are the first request I've done. hope you enjoy!
I was blown away by that, fella! Really excellent work!!
@tubbylardman if I had it. this video was shot before I was able to multi-track my kit so the kit audio is basically a lot of cymbals and some snare with a little kick mixed in. I have the track there so you can hear I'm playing along with what you hear on the track. How can you not LOVE this! You're a wizzard!
You absolutely killed it. Nice job.
Wow!!!! So rapid!!! Awesome!!
I love it. Really amazing.
Dude this is the best drum and bass drum cover out there! You shoudl really do Noisia - Could this be!
Dude this soo sick.. Amaizing job!!!
I don't have the original audio or video files or I would! I did another noisia video where my drums were all mic'd rather than this (just kick and room mics) so it's more clear.

the cymbal mute section is the best... way to go man you can rock those friggin drums
Incredible! Thank you.
This is fantastic! Nice work!
Impressive! I'd like to see how you'd do the drum solo section, if not the full track, of Noisia - Get Deaded.
Why do I like this so much?
i'd love to have the transcription for this
@TimMc333 in this vid...drums: pearl reference 22x20 kick, 8x7 rack, 10x9 rack, 14x14 floor, 16x16 floor, steve ferrone sig series snare, pearl 13x3 brass piccolo side snare. pearl 2000 series hardware, dw 9000 double pedal, pearl roadster throne.
cymbals left to right: 14" a custom mastersound hit hats, 19" z3 rock crash, 8" a custom splash, 22" a custom ping ride, 18" z3 crash, 9 1/2" zil-bel, 18" a custom china, 10" guitar center bin china...?

Very, very clean play, love it, this makes listening to this music (not really my style) worthwile :) Keep on the good work!
@stefrotiedits this is sped back up obviously...but for learning slower is always easier
This takes so much concentration. How is this possible!
@metallix11 yea i play in the band Digital Summer
this is insane dude!! i want to try doing noisia drum covers but it looks hard to get on beat
I was wandering if ... Could you make a new video of this one but this time with you pedal video camera filming it??? dude your like a clock man , i have been watching your videos and jojo mayer's videos too... you guys rule . keep up the awsome work ben!!
if you counted it in 8, HH is playing 8ths while you left hits on 2, 6, and the & of 7. with ghost notes between them.
Amazing!
the drums are still in the track, I tried to mix mine in to sit just on top of them
Dude, you are the man.
This is sick!
Amazing.
practice makes perfect, and be patient with yourself! some things are easier to pick up than others.
Playing DNB well on drums is insanely skilled and accurately timing masterful drum work if you know ANYTHING about drums or ever tried playing DNB
Lmao !!
How is he stopping 3 cymbals at the same time without 3 hands????
Like did he literally buy this entire kit somehow tuned exactly like the actual track and cymbal sounds just for this song, ..... if so it was worth it. Just getting this thing tuned how he did would take me days and how he played it around 10000 takes after 10 years of drumming
Unbelievable. Done it justice

In my opinion THAT is what makes a good drummer. Some awesome dnb tune played on his drums. a Song i would love to hear would be Netsky's No Beginning. i really would love that.
