That’s also because this show was made in the early 2010’s and many screen writers viewed interracial relationships as weird. You notice that when it does happen it’s usually the whole plot of the movie, but it seems that they couldn’t handle a black woman and a hot white man together which sucks.

Ok so first off, Elena is a whiny little self-centered brat and literally deserves Matt, and these two had great chemistry. BUT, we almost never see straight friendships that don’t ever evolve into romantic relationships and I think it’s really important to show that straight people are completely capable of being JUST friends with someone of the opposite gender.
I agree, but why does Bonnie and Damon have to be the poster child for a platonic relationship? They could of had any two characters represent a straight, platonic relationship. I just doesn't make sense why Bamon wasn't explored further when they had clear signs of romantic chemistry. Also, it doesn't make sense for Damon, a hyper sexual guy, to be alone with a beautiful woman for four months, who believed it was his personal hell and that he was never leaving, to not try to make a move on Bonnie.

They even cut her out the frame of an interview and when she asked to promote her music on the show they refused her but they let some of the other casts do so. She was the only black actress. The person who played bonnies mom was dead in only a few episodes. They didn’t let her put her natural hair and had to constantly but wigs on every week. This is also one of the reason why there isn’t 13 seasons; because Ian did leave due to them being racist to her.
EXACTLY. Candice , someone who doesn't even make music had her music promoted -- people need to start taking poc,especially black actors not for granted. especially when there is talent like Kat graham.And Ian had to threaten to leave the show for Julie to not kill off bonnie.
Well Abby (the mother) never died she died but came back as a vampire. I would have loved if they focused on Bonnie helping her mom get through vampirism and how much of a toll it would take on Bonnie but they just have her mother leave the show anyway because she's "scared" (When we all know its only cause the writers are too lazy to give Bonnie a storyline.) Even with her grams they killed her off and after they killed her off Bonnie disappears from the show for almost 7-10 episodes no joke. Hell, in 2x07 they even introduce another Bennett witch that's related to Bonnie, her name is Lucy btw. When she leaves she tells Bonnie, don't worry you will meet me again but we never see her again. If you absolutely had to kill off Bonnie's Grandmother you could have focused on Bonnie more so when can see how she grieved when her grams passed on and why she blamed Damon and Stefan for her death but later accepts that it wasn't their fault. But nope that's not what we need, Screw character development! We need a cringe worthy boring ass love triangle between Elena, Damon and Stefan that literally nobody wants, except for the cancerous Delena shippers
