It took me a while to realize that Helvetica also appears on music a lot, e.g.: I associate Helvetica Neue Condensed Bold with the British rock band Placebo, because it appeared a lot on their album covers, thus their "logo" is kinda of this font
Besides the different weights of each Helvetica version we also have condensed versions, which can appreciably alter the visual character and personality of actual applications. I think I favor those alternatives because the tighter width often has a certain elegance missing in the standard width.
I'm so bored with Helvetica. This may have started twenty-five years ago when I met a newbie-designer who gushed that her very favorite font was "Helveesha!"
I mean material design is just a big fail. San Francisco is basically even a stronger copy of Helvetica than Arial. The same is true for CNN typeface. Let‘s say Helvetica is maybe not that often used anymore but it will life on in its copies.
Apple already had a San Francisco in the 1980s, a beautiful ransom-note/punk-rock bitmap font. They should have come up with a new name for their fake Helvetica
RUclips still uses Roboto, like the owner does, however Google use Google Sans as well. Haven't seen anything from RUclips Sans that is quoted in this 5 year old video.
Just rip-offs of a perfect typeface HELVETICA ...just so corps can save money. pifff. change a square period to around period now you have a bespoke typeface stop it.
'helvetica's dead' , they say, as every typeface tries to be Helvetica.
Now I want my own font.
Kids: Arial
Adults: Helvetica
Legends: Comic Sans MS

Helvetica is far from dead. And Roboto is far from a suitable replacement...
The BBC used to use Helvetica quite a lot, but they now use a font called “Reith”.
Neue is pronounced "NOY-uh" ; )

Great video, looks really professionally done!
Just realized that font that I use right now to comment this is Roboto
Helvetica is legendary, but I'm somewhat sick of it.
Thank you for sharing other good-looking fonts.
Thank you so much for this video.

Glad it was helpful!
Adult Swim and Cards Against Humanity got me hooked on Helvetica typeface
The most important aspect of any font is that it is legible. If you cannot easily read it, don’t use it!
On RUclips on iOS the caption font is Helvetica
I'm so bored with Helvetica.

After this video I installed Roboto-light on my android device. And trust me, it looks amazing specially on an amoled display.
But Roboto sucks. I hate it on Android.
They made a new roboto. Maybe it's better than the old one
I hadn’t noticed this at all.
Don't remind me that RUclips Sans is a hot mess.
Kids: Arial
Adults: Helvetica
Unknown: Roboto
I hope they don't do this with bespoke colors: We could end up with Google Red and IBM Orange and CNN Blue and...
i'll be honest though, calibri is one of the few fonts I tolerate for long strings of text
good explain
When I read the title, I thought you were gonna talk about the Helvetica Scenario
Why the font was "grotesque"?

Times New Roman: I struck down Helvetica.
Calibri is dead! And I love Helvetica.

Helvetica definately ain't dead
Comfortaa on chrome, or century gothic is what I use
comfortaa is so underrated... even acer uses it for their concept D series ( www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/conceptd-brand-story )
Just rip-offs of a perfect typeface HELVETICA ...just so corps can save money. pifff.

I REALLY LIKE HELVETICA BUT STILL ROBOTO SUCKS FOR ME😤
NASA use the font for their Space shuttle name signs
When people pronounce neue as new I was like arghhhhhhhhhhh
The best Helvetica is Bold Condensed, of course.
Interesting way of pronouncing "neue". So, would "monsieur" be pronounced "monn-sewer"?
Ah. Made before Helvetica Now came out...
Apple switched to San Francisco in 2015. Still the best font ever created, on earth. I am dreadfully sad the license is proprietary to them.
Helvetica looks like old San Francisco Font
Kill the background music.
Thanks for the feedback, Rex. Noted!
Not if I click in multiple places! *downgrades my MacBook to Mac OS Yosemite*
I prefer Tahoma over Helvetica. Just my personal preference.

I'm glad to see Helvetica die. It's way too overused. We need more interesting typefaces.
Helvetica is not a font. It's a category.
