A Vlog of a journey from Bangkok to Saigon (HCMC) at the end of Feb 2020. Including the flight, buying a SIM card, taxi journey, hotel look and convenience store run on arrival.
NB. No footage from Suvarnabhumi airport as I was running late but it was eerily quiet due to the downturn in tourism.

This video was from a Visa run to Vietnam, where I stayed in the capital city of Saigon for a few days.

Im in Saigon now. Saigon just shut down all nightlife until further notice including bars, clubs, all massage parlors :'( , and theaters. Restaraunts are still open though. Times are gettin tough in this world.
Why don't they revalue their money and get some of the zeros off? Seems crazy 100,000 VND = $4.31 US. I guess everyone there is a millionaire though.

Vietel worked great for me while I was in Vietnam. I don't remember what I paid last time though. Seems in Thailand, AIS is the only one that my phone doesn't fight me to use so I just stick with it while I'm there. I could video message, my dad, just about anywhere with Vietel when I motorbiked from Saigon to Da Nang. No complaints from me.

Tell you this much sir.......I'm sure Thailand is beautiful and all that any time of year. But I'm not going to travel to another city in my home state right now, much less another country. The best advice is to get only as small amount as you can from the airport ATM and then get the taxi to where you are going straight away before buying any SIM card or food.
SIM cards can be bought in many places. 400k is more than 4 months for me with 2GB of 4G data per day and 50 minutes of calls a month (90k VND) on Viettel.
