I had this idea for years and my way of doing it was adding weights to my step-up rings. But this is kinda more universal in terms of sizes of the lenses it can be attached to. I only wonder can it be a little slimmer but if it works that way... it is enough.

Looks interesting but how does it work if we are using filters with step up rings or even normal filters? Most of us use one size VND filter and step up with rings. Does this filter or mold over the filter or the actually lens...? Thanks

Hey ekphotography. We forwarded your question to Stabilens and here is their answer: "StabiLens was made to stretch right over the camera's lens so you can use it with your VND filters. The system was made to be as versatile as possible and fit many workflows. In fact, you can set it up so if you wanted to remove your VND during a shoot you could just add a StabiLens ring to the lens to instantly keep your gimbal balanced. That would come in handy when you go from shooting outside to shooting inside in much lower light and suddenly don't need the ND."

@@CineD wow! As cool as the product is I'm more impressed with this interaction with the community. First time I've seen a channel take a viewers question to a manufacturer and post a response in under 24hrs. Super grateful for all you do!

I love seeing indie inventors reap rewards, but why all the free press for this utterly flawed "invention"? Not only does it consume more time than simply rebalancing anyway, but it's implicitly flawed in its design: 3-axis balancing incorporates more than just weight -- moreso, it's about displacement from the center of gravity that will vary considerably based on the form factor of each lens. In other words, you can't get around rebalancing with mere counterweights.

    Excellent idea.
But for true rush jobs, I just have 3 cameras with their own lenses on their own gimbals.

..I would rather rebalance, than using this product. Rebalancing just takes a few seconds...
